  1. [=~ She looked at him, tilting her head. "Po- oh. Its not a portal, its simply allowing access into the magigen's magic reserves as a physical space, then when it closes it translates everything into magic. When it opens again, it uses magic to translate back to a physical form. And as for that, all I really need to do..." her horn frosted over, the usual faint glow from the ice, and the usual snow swirling around it, before it stopped, nothing visible having been done. "There we go. Just adjusted the timer for how long between all signatures exiting and unlocking the button. Should be fine now." ~=]
  2. [=~ She looked at her, smiling, "Nope, went better than some tests I've done in the past. Alot better, actually. Typically my tail is gone completely afterwards... Think I have a bit of bad luck when it comes to my tail and my inventions." ~=] [=~ At that she laughed, hearing what he had said, "Yeah, it is. The plasma cannon I invented uses an array of needles with plasma generation spells bound to them, alongside unidirectional levitation spells bound to another set of needles to push the plasma out of the tube. All of that is encased in unmelting ice, and powered by a magigen that I invented. Its a device that generates magical energy entirely on its own, to power bound spells. Quite powerful as well, but hard to make. Well, that kind is hard to make, anyway, I have invented simpler kinds. Though they are still probably some of the most complex things I've ever invented... I'm getting off topic, aren't I. Sorry, tend to do that when I start talking about my inventions. Anyway, the plasma cannon was invented solely for self defense in extremely dangerous situations. Like being between a cliff and more than one hydra." ~=]
  3. [=~ She looked at him, tilting her head, "I never said that was a time that I was careful. I was mentioning that as that was when I learned I should be careful. After that I started trying to learn pretty much any shield spell I could find. Even the wierd ones." As soon as the button was pressed, the hole closed. For about one whole second, before opening again, showing Icy looking out the hole, while she was halfway in a hole to her own expanse. She proceeded to go back into- fully- the machine's expanse before walking out of the machine. Though it did close behind her a bit too quickly, taking the very end of her tail off. Looking behind her, a bit annoyed, "Why exactly is it always my tail that gets hurt when something goes minorly wrong? Not my mane, or my, well, me, but always me tail. Kind of annoying. At least it didn't do much to it, unlike that one time with the plasma cannon... That one almost incinerated my entire tail..." ~=] Think they deserve a bit of explanation, Void? [=~ Probably. I know that Midnight told you that she can't cast anything heat related, correct? Well, despite that, she did find a way to bind heat related spells to objects, though only relatively weak versions. Said plasma cannon uses multiple plasma generation spells bound to a pattern of needles inside a tube of ice- the unmelting kind- and then those plasma generation spells were in turn connected to a magigen, something she invented entirely on her own- with a bit of help from studying timberwolves- to generate pulses of magic to power bound spells. The pulse sent to the plasgen spells causes them to do their thing, and then another spell, a pushing force spell, like a monodirectional levitation spell, is activated to send the plasma out of the tube. Good enough of an explanation for you, Midnight? Or should I continue to bore them with irrelevant information like this? ~=] Yeah, thats good enough. Hopefully. And yes, magigen is supposed to be a combination of magic and generator. It is a magic generator. No, she is not willing to give it to anyone, because of the fact that one can create things like her plasma cannon with it.
  4. She laughed at that. "Trust me, I know how to be careful when it comes to my inventions. The blizzjets in my wings?" She raises one of her magimechanical wings as the "feathers" open up vertically to reveal an icy blue glow, alongside a humming sound and snow forming behind the wing. "First time I tested how fast they could go when I'm overcharging them with my magic, I was almost incinerated by the friction with the air. Barely managed to redirect a bit of the magic I was sending into them to myself in a cooling spell," she lowers her wing back down to her side as the feathers close, "Don't really need to be told to be careful... Plus, when has inventing ever been an entirely safe thing to do, anyway?" That last "question" was said in a manner which showed it obviously wasn't a question. As well, this should have indicated that fact, she walked through the device as soon as she finished. "Alright, ready to press the button?"
  5. [=~ She tilted her head, looking at her, legitamately confused. "Did I not explain how it works? I apologize for that. The detector specifically looks for the magical signature of one of the common sapient races on this world. For example, a dragon, or one of the types of ponies, or a changeling, or... Well, you get the idea. It wouldn't lock for something it didn't recognize. If something it didn't recognize was inside, it would just light up the panel. Therefore, I need to enter to ensure that it does in fact recognize what I tried to set it up to recognize." In no way did she say any of that in a offensive tone. More just as if she was explaining it for the first time to somebody, not as if she was having to explain it again. ~=]
  6. @Blitz Boom [=~ As Pop was looking at Benny, Icy had decided to just use a bit of ice as the object. She used her magic to coalesce a bit of air into a ball, freezing it afterwards. Frozen air wasn't that big of a leap, considering in her more fun- at least for me- state, she had frozen fire before. Besides, its magic, don't know why I'm even trying to give you reasons why it makes sense. It dosen't. Its just magic, deal with it. Anyway, having the ball of ice levitating in the air, she proceeded to levitate it into the expanse and onto the "ground" of it. Walking over to the button on the left, she closed it, then switched and opened into another "version" of the expanse, placing a cube of ice in that one. Then she switched back to the first expanse, where the ball of ice was still there on the ground. She levitated it out, before letting it go back to its normal form- air- and switching back to the second version of the expanse. There, the cube of ice was still waiting, which she did the same as she did with the ball of ice with. Then she switched it back to the first version of the expanse. "Alright, works perfectly fine. Can you come over here and operate the button, Pop, while I go inside and test the anti-trapping lock? Need to make sure it works. And don't tell me its dangerous. I know it is. If I do get trapped in there- or erased- after you press the button, though... Well, can't really think of a better way to die than to die to one of my own inventions."
  7. [=~ Normally, Icy would have protested to this. However, she could- very occasionally- recognize a lost cause when she saw one. Protesting that was, in her eyes, clearly a lost cause. When Benny went inside, however, she didn't even wait for Pop to drag him out, her dragging him out would mean going in there first. Instead, her horn frosted over, the ice glowing the same icy blue glow as usual, snow swirling around it, before Benny was promptly bounced straight out of the expanse by means of bouncy expanding bubble shield. Lets just say, inventing the way she did it usually caused her to want to learn a variety of pretty much any kind of shield spell she would need- mostly- and this was one of them. Why? No clue, but she thought it might be useful at some point, and apparently she was right. Just not in terms of inventing. "Nope, if that thing breaks with you inside, you are never coming out. How about the first test is us using an inanimate object rather than Benny, is that something you can agree with, Pop?" ~=]
  8. [=~ When she heard that, first question, she laughed. "How much? Nothing, getting the chance to actually invent something like this is quite literally the only payment I need. Normally all I invent are smaller things, something like this is once every few months. I had fun, it works, and it is doing what it is built to do for someone who needed it. As for the thing about the imprisonment potential, I actually found a way around that. Pretty much all I did was put a lock on the button that locks when someone goes in, and unlocks when the same number of people that went in, come out. It can be disabled by a little hidden button on the back of the top, though, if you ever need the ability to trap an intruder in it or something. Though, honestly, um, I kind of got caught up in designing it, so I may or may not have forgotten to make it an actually moveable thing."
  9. [=~ As soon as she said that, Icy yay-ed and immediatelly opened up the hole, grabbing all the materials she needed in her levitation, alongside the ice cube blueprint, and began working on it. Only taking about twenty minutes, she finally did he final steps, her horn frosting over, glowing with a faint icy cyan light, snow forming around it, and a line from her horn to a spot on the device formed. After a minute, the stargate looking device was completely finished, all spells bound. "Alright, there we go, should work now. Using a magic generator I developed, alongside a bound version of my storage spell and an activator spell. When you press the button here-" she pointed to a button on a panel to the left of the arch, "It will open the hole. You press it again, it'll close it. Now, just to warn you, it is entirely possible for you to get trapped in there if someone tries to. Also could be used to trap others in, if- oh my... I just made the perfect prison... Anyway, I kind of went a bit overboard and added a system to allow you to assign different versions of the expanse to different button combinations over on this panel-" she walks over to a panel to the right of the arch, "And I added a whole array of different projection spells so it'll project a screen above the panel you can look at and type names with for the different button codes. If you don't want all of that, though, you could always just stick to using the left panel by itself and it will still work perfectly fine."
  10. [=~ As she was honestly barely able to control herself and keep herself from just grabbing the materials out of the spell right then and working the plans for the storage device, the moment lasted just that- a moment- before she asked, not quite able to hide the excitement in her voice, "Can I start inventing now? Please?"
  11. [=~ She laughed at that, due to the fact that she has never considered creating milkshakes work, placing them in the same category as inventing. "Sure, though its not really work. I do understand your meaning, though." ~=]
  12. [=~ At that, she almost lost her control, him having direcltly reminded her of one of Cel's conditions, which then reminded her of the thing, which she then attempted to dismiss as imagination for now. "Yeah, no, don't think thats going to happen." That was all she could say before having to focus entirely on making sure her mind didn't reach too far into her memories. ~=] I literally just woke up, this might not be the best in terms of quality. Just a warning and an explanation, don't mind me.
  13. [=~ She laughed at that. "Adds a bit of a different flavor to the cherry blossoms, one that I actually enjoy. I don't like the idea that I'm eating something that used to have a mind, of course, but if it was already dead- usually- I couldn't just let them have died for nothing. I was more upset with the ones I had to freeze alive, since I was the one killing them, but then they were going to kill me. I crush it into dust after I freeze it because I've never really completely understood just how much meat a pony can eat safely or at least without any side effects. Decided it would just be better to be safe and only dust it with it instead of just eating a... manticore steak... Eh, even thinking about that idea feels disgusting." Once she heard that last bit, she closed her eyes a second, or five, before blinking a bit to get some ice out of her eyes. Trying to force her mind back to thinking in a way that wouldn't end with ice shattering on the floor below her, she replied, "I wouldn't know, my parents have only had one kid so far, me. And I eat stuff frozen and drink stuff cold because I kind of have- because I prefer the taste."
  14. [=~ As she said that, Icy smiled. "Not really "home cooked." And not just because of the fact that imilkshakes aren't cooked. He had a store he called a milkshake workshop, where essentially ponies could come in and choose exactly what kinds of flavors they wanted in their milkshake, and then he made them one with those things in it. I was helping him with it by the time I was around five, actually working there- for bits to spend on new items to dissect- by the time I was fifteen. My favorite one that someone had made was a peppermint marshmellow chocalate milkshak, which have been the main thing I drink ever since then. Make them myself now. Still quite good at making milkshaks in general, though, even if both my mark and my mind prefer inventing things." After she let them talk to eachother, she responded, "Yay! And don't think to much on the flash freezing, I just prefer literally anything I eat to be flash frozen, and then I like to eat it while its still frozen. I even flash freeze the manticore meat dust that I tend to sprinkle over the cherry blosssoms- which I also flash froze- that I eat sometimes still, but mostly ate back when I was in the everfree. Though... Sometimes the meat was already frozen when I got it, but usually those were the occasions when a manticore came along that wasn't already dead and I couldn't get away. I even cool hot chocalate down to just above its freezing temperature when I drink it. I even eat soup cold. So really, don't think too much into the fact that I froze it first."
  15. [=~ As she saw the different things around the shop, she recognized none of them, except for the ones which were obvious as to what they were. Origin-substance formatted names were the only ones she recognized, and then only the individual parts instead of having ever seen them before. And of course the less unusual things she recognized, as well. When she was offered the milkshake, she took a small sip through the straw, if it was still in it. "That is quite good, though not as good as the ones my dad makes. Though, then again, never found any that are as good as the ones he makes," she says, forcing herself to not think about the fact that she was using the wrong grammatical tense, and therefore allowing herself to believe she wasn't. By this process, she was able to get through it without showing any sign of anything being wrong, as she had essentially tricked- although flimsily- her mind into believing nothing was wrong. And then, of course, like usual, she simply took the straw out and drank it within about fifteen seconds, all at once, showing no signs of discomfort from consuming that amount of cold in that period of time. She then flash-froze the candy cup and started eating it. Though unlike the milkshake, she ate this at an entirely reasonable pace. "You know, the best way to make something milkshake flavored is to put some of the milkshake at the center of whatever you are trying to put the flavor into, and then c- oh, right, no horn. Hmmm... Maybe I could make something for that too? Please? I mean, if you want to do it by hoof, I'd be completely fine with that, but I'm still going to make it anyway, now that I have the idea for it, and I'd never use it, so, please?" she asks.
  16. @Blitz Boom [=~ Any interruptions this time, Midnight? If so, might as well get them out of the way now... ~=] Nope, nothing. [=~ Good. Now, anyways... Ahem... Icy had always been quick to point out errors in others reasoning, specifically where it concerned her, though sometimes this meant she forgot to keep her mouth shut when said flaws would help her. Once they were done talking, "But I was using my levitation for the mi- I mean, nothing. Nothing at all was said. Please. As for your question, Circ," she paused a second. As for how she pronounced Circ, she pronounced it like the circ in circle but without the le. "Happily. Inventing something like this would be a lot of fun for me, not often I get to make something so different from anything else I've seen. And, if you were thinking it might cost something, it won't. Though if you do want to pay me, I would accept a milkshake as payment. Always interesting to see how someone else makes a milkshake." Once she said that, she then opened another hole, taking another milkshake out, and drinking it in one drink, before then letting the cup melt and then reforming the cup, putting it back into the hole and closing it.
  17. @Blitz Boom Just a forenote, in case you want to know what she sounds like in my head, imagine something kind of like the female voice in this. Now, Void? [=~ Thank you, Midnight, certainely, ahem, helpful, there. Sarcasm in batches of twenty for the previous statement, by the way. ~=] Shut up and just get back to the narrating, Void. [=~ Gladly Midnight, didn't want to waste time on that kind of thing anyway... Moving on, sorry about that, Midnight decided now was a good time for that. I am going to disagree with his assesment, but I can't really do anything about it. You know, being a Narry and all. Anyway, lets get on with it, shall we? When he asked if she wanted to take the cup back, she said okay, and then let the cup melt. Because it was made of ice. Just not the kind of ice that melts normally, kind of like the ice that Ice Storm converts things into. When they reached the store and they had their interaction, she just waited patiently, though she was secretly hoping it didn't take too long. She had inventing to do, after all. Once she was noticed, though, she managed to stuff that impatience away, responding in the usual tone. "My name is Icy, hello." she said, lifting her hoof up to shake hooves. Her hoof would feel about a quarter of the temperature of a normal pony, and a bit softer as well. This being due to the normal windigo's nature as an ethereal being translating into a normal form as increased softness, though this doesn't affect the horn of a Hybrid. This also dosen't affect her wings, due to them being artificial.
  18. @Blitz Boom [=~ She laughed at his reaction, the usual blizzard forming around her wings again. Should I mention that her horn does nothing when these blizzards form? Or is that a tad obvious? I'm unsure on that... Anyway, when he asked her that last question, sh almost jumped in excitement, the blizzards around her wings nearly connecting before calming back down and going completely back to their respective wings. "Gladly! I would honestly love to make something like this for someone. Always love inventing something that someone needs or wants. Even more fun when it is something like this. It'll be so interesting!" She said, finishing with a little accidental jump into the air on a flap of her wings, which she was promptly a bit embarrassed by. That didn't last long, however, as nothing could really ever take her mind off of the idea of making something like this once she got it into her head.
  19. @Blitz Boom [=~ As soon as she heard the word button relating to the spell, she immediatelly smiled, before her horn frosted over, glowing, snow forming around it, and then a cube of ice formed in the air in front of her, the snow around it showing that she was also levitating it. Slowly, while she stared at it, a design began forming inside the ice cube out of less pure ice. Because less pure ice isn't as clear, and the rest of the ice cube is completely pure, well, I would hope you get the idea. She closed her eyes every so often while forming the design, calculating numbers and dimensions. Once she had finished, she opened the hole again and simply tossed the cube in before closing it again. "I think I can make something with the same general idea, yeah," she responded in an excited but somehow also calm tone. A little blizzard swirling around her wings.
  20. @Blitz Boom [=~ She tried succesfully to keep herself from laughing at his reaction to the milkshake, before tilting her head to the side, thinking about his question. After a moment, she decided to test it. So she opened a hole, and then stood in front of it. The metal feathers of her wings split open- each feather having the top half tilting up and the bottom half tilting down- and an icy blue glow came from inside what were now essentially jets. And then she was gone, quite a bit of snow in a cone behind where she was standing, a faint sonic boom as she reached the maximum speed her blizzjets would allow. After a couple of minutes, she came flying back out of the hole, the feathers closing again, skidding to a stop before ending up with her face on the ground. She then got up, closing the hole, and turning back towards him, answering his question, "Well, there isn't a limit that is ever really going to matter to me, so... Though it does take a bit more magic to open a hole when there is more stuff in it." She then managed to drink her, currently full, milkshake in about fifteen seconds. Which is precisely why she makes them in batches of a hundred. Also, he licked his milkshake? Not sure thats what you are supposed to do with milkshakes, but okay... ~=]
  21. @Blitz Boom [=~ With that, she did laugh a bit, a miniature blizzard forming around her wings, before it dissipated as she stopped. When he asked her to show him where she found it, she laughed again, this time for only a few seconds though. Replying happily, "Don't worry about it, I make them myself. Actually have about seventy-two of them in my storage spell." After that her horn frosted over, a flurry of snow from it, as a hole opened up in mid air next to her. She looked around in the space beyond for a second, before coming out with another in her snowy levitation. "Do you want one?" she asked, levitating another one out of the hole and holding it out to him. ~=]
  22. Yeah, the lack of words was because I couldn't really say much else with her at this point unless I wanted her to ask if he wanted help getting them off his face. And she wouldn't really do that unless she knew whether or not he could handle the kind of cold that snow forms at. As for how Void narrated it... Honestly I don't really know what he was thinking (What I was thinking) when he did it like he did. Although if you are saying that you didn't see her say anything where the exact wording was specified, then you missed it. I did specify exactly what she said. It's in the cyan text.
  23. Yeah, I've figured that out now, as well as how to quote specific sections, so I'll use those two from now on, deciding which to use depending on if the post I am responding to was directed at multiple people in multiple sections or just me, or multiple people and me in one section.
  24. [=~ He had scared her, as she was thinking of other things. In fact, he scared her so much that she had accidentally stopped holding the milkshake with her levitation. As the snowy aura dissipated- something I believe Midnight forgot to mention is that her aura is cold enough to cause snow to form around it- the milkshake dropped to the ground, spilling. Now, despite her obsession- because that is what it is- with milkshakes, she wasn't even slightly angry. Not even a little. Though that is probably because she was trying to keep herself from laughing at his face. She didn't really notice the emblems, though, and even if she had, she wouldn't really care. Anyway, as she looked at him, really trying not to laugh, she alerted him to the presence of the offending fritters. "It's fine..." She said sadly, looking over down at the milkshake, before looking up at him and almost laughing, holding her hoof over her mouth, "You... You have a... A fritter on your face..." Able to get through talking with only a few giggles (Jesus it feels strange saying that word...), she flaps her wings once sharply, almost like a non-verbal laugh, putting her hoof back on the ground. Still smiling, though. ~=]
