Everything's Butterflies & Rainbows

One day in Ponyville, Rainbow Dash went to visit her good friend Fluttershy at her little cottage. 
She knocked on the door.

"Oh, hello Rainbow!" the shy mare said with surprise. " So nice to see you. Care to come in?"

"Sure, thanks, Flutters", Rainbow Dash responded. 

"So, uhm.. what brings you here today?" asked Fluttershy.

"I... I need to talk with you about something," Rainbow Dash told her.

"Oh?", wondered Fluttershy. "Is everything alright?"

"Kinda", was Rainbow Dash's response. "There's something I need to tell you."

"What is it, Rainbow?"

"Well, you see..." Rainbow started. "We've been friends for a long time. In fact, you are my oldest and closest friend. And I'm kinda scared to say this because I don't want to ruin the special friendship we have. You've always been there for me whenever I needed you, even if it was the middle of the night or first thing in the morning. The truth is... I like you Fluttershy. Like, a lot."

Rainbow Dash noticed the look of shock on her friend's face

"I'm sorry, Flutters." Rainbow Dash stated.  I understand if you don't feel the same way. If you want to end our friendship, that's totally-"

Fluttershy leaned over and kissed Rainbow Dash on the cheek. Rainbow was surprised, for she couldn't believe her shy friend would do something so bold.

"I feel the same way about you, Rainbow Dash". Fluttershy admitted. "I was just too shy to tell you. I can't believe you like me too." 

"Of course I do!" stated Rainbow Dash. "You're caring, kind, cute, and beautiful inside and out."

"Th-Thank you," Fluttershy replied, her cheeks  growing red.

Outside, it was starting to thunder. 

"Do you want to maybe spend the night? I've got blankets and pillows in the back," said Fluttershy.

"I've got a better way to keep warm," responded Rainbow Dash cheekily. She then pulled Fluttershy closer to her, and the two cuddled beside the fireplace.

"So, uhm, Fluttershy. Does this mean... You would like to be my marefriend?"

"Yes!" replied Fluttershy. "I'd love to be your marefriend."

"Awesome," said Rainbow Dash.

"Yay," said Fluttershy in response.
