    This seems to be the only episode to have some kind of offscreen "excuse" for Spike not being there.

    I imagine that G4 wouldn't be successful as it was if it weren't for Laurent Faust. I think that if G4 ended at season 3 or didn't become such a hit, G5 wouldn't exist in the same continuity as G4. The fact that G5 exists in the same continuity as G4 made it very easy to constantly compare the two generations, for the worse. But I can say that whatever happens after G4 will never lessen the worth of what it achieved in its time.

    I like the concept of the glitter being a source of magic. Baby Hitch, Izzy, Sunny, and Cloudpuff are so cute. Are objects like glitter and crystals now common containers for magic in G5? The mystery episodes seem to be good episodes in this series.

    Maybe Discord was trying to save Fluttershy from something but he was unable to save her. Or something terrible happened that made him lose this friendship with Fluttershy and everyone else and he never saw them happy with him again. And something like that cost him his horn and his spirit.

    Same. Changes in both the show and behind the scenes were bound to happen with how long the show was going on for, and more of the changes provoked more negative reactions as time went on.

    I loved Barbie and Lalaloopsy before I started watching MLP. I started watching Barbie again after MLP:FIM ended though.

    I really like this episode, though I am put off by three things: 1.) Despite Fluttershy's ability to fly, Zecora was the one collecting the Criss-Cross Moss, which caused her to fall into the water and get sick. 2.) Twilight and Cattail not realizing to use the mask to get the Flash bee's honey in the 3 days Fluttershy was unconscious. 3.) The doctor being revealed to have contracted swamp fever, leaving the implication of a disease outbreak.

    I think that Sparky's official name should be Sparkson Waves.

    I picked "Waves" because light travels in waves, and his body color reminds me of the sea.

    I think that this episode turned off quite a number of fans by the fact that the Cutie Map was a signal that many of the upcoming episodes were going to be more formulaic. But that was a given in order to keep the show going, and those cute map episodes were mostly not too bad in my opinion.

    Quitters don't get glitter! Also, what if there will be an episode where the plot or subplot is about the Mane 5 struggling to care for Sparky, and at some point, Sparky ends up getting sick from eating Sunny's glitter?

    I liked how it lampshaded people's love for "woobie cuteness" and how it showed the complex struggle in trying to spare others from your feelings.

    I think that it would have been better if Cranky was, well, cranky because he was having marital problems with Matilda. Cranky ends up revealing that he is having doubts about being a good husband and ends up crying. The students then awkwardly try to comfort him. By the end of the episode, it is shown that he is reconciling with Matilda and that things are going to be okay between them.

    I find that G5 so far is too anvilicious, and it doesn't leave enough breathing room for little moments to stand on their own.

    I imagine Cranky and Matilda being very supportive of beings who deeply enjoy what makes them happy, even after it took such a long time.

    It makes sense, considering how many decades they spent looking forward to the day they would find each other again.

    It would be the same for Pinkie Pie, considering her determination to make Cranky smile paid off, even after many failed attempts.
