    I’m sorry that I’m coming to this soooo late, and I know it’s been brought up that background details aren’t inherently canon, BUT- I would love to point out the old, dial candlestick behind Sunburst’s head in this shot from Uncommon Bond (s7e24)! I love the implication that Equestria does have phone technology, but it’s still in its earlier stages. Like rotary phones are the more common type of phone due to the candlestick being in an antique shop :3

    LONG TIME NO POST- How about I fix that? I’ve been incredibly hyperfixated on MLP, so I’ve got a decent amount of art to share! His neckbeard/chin scruff is optional, so you’ll see it on and off throughout different art pieces 😭 This is my partner’s ponysona, Shortcake! They run a BnB in Ponyville, and they’re distantly related to Troubleshoes 😭 Meaning they not only gained his big clunkiness, but also his bad luck and clumsiness- Aren’t they a cutie, though? This piece was for Art Fight, but tbh I should draw them more. They’re so very cute, I adore them!! I do really like this piece, but you can tell that I was doing a little trial and error with Morb’s hair 😭 I’m not crazy about it here, but I do end up figuring it out! And now is when I figured out his mane! First I added extra hair on the back of his neck, as opposed to the shaved look. Then I redid his tail a little, so it’s more flow-y than stiff looking 😭 I’m very satisfied with how he looks now, I feel even more connected to him as a sona :3 Here’s the flow-y tail! It’s honestly so cute, and tbh it’s much easier to draw and keep consistent now xD

    A few more pieces! Including a lil silly headcanon piece :3 Well, headcanons for Sunburst but canon for Morb as he is my ponysona 😭 Sunburst is amab, gender unlabeled as he doesn’t care much for putting a label on that. That’s why he’s holding his own unlabeled flag. Morb is trans, as am I, so he gets a trans flag. And together, they’re both gay men! Hence why the big gay flag is there! Just having a little fun with my absolute favorite character is all ^^

    I should NOT be trusted near cute nerd unicorns who wear glasses (joking) This lil MorbidComet piece, as I’m calling them, sparked on from how cute Comet is, my own Morbid Curiosity in each gen art piece, and how I’m not immune to nerdy boys 😭 If G5 explored more of him, I wouldn’t be surprised if he landed right under Sunburst in terms of favorite characters for me :3c

    Thank you!! I was inspired by a piece I saw on Manebooru! And through Starlight, much to her chagrin! I’d imagine it would have been in s6e24, Uncommon Bond, Starlight thought she could win Sunburst over via a neato little oddity shop. Turns out it was run by Morbid Curiosity, and he ended up hitting it off with Sunburst like no issue! Starlight was salty, but Sunburst earned himself a Ponyville pegasus pen pal who sends him antique amulets and books that are full of weird, almost cursed sounding scrawls. The rest of it just kinda followed through from there!

    I thought it’d be fun to put together a lil thread of art I make of my ponysona, Morbid Curiosity :3 Feel free to ask questions about him! (He/they for him, please!) Here’s the latest so far! The HQ version of my signature that I just finished, a cute little piece of Morb and Sunburst smooshing snouts, and a WIP of Morb in each generation’s art styles. I’ll post the gen styles once I finally finish it, it’s a decently big project (for myself anyways) so I’m taking breaks throughout it :]

    Sunburst, all the way My username on almost every social media platform I use is sunburstkisser! Even on the poniverse! He's arguably my favorite character out of absolutely ANY franchise I've ever been into. I honestly couldn't imagine my life without having a funny unicorn to draw and fantasize about 😅

    I redid this one with my current ponysona ^^ I’m really bad at keeping with a single one, but hopefully my boy Morb stays a while :3 The tail is a little inaccurate, I might redo it again with his updated tail. Or I might not! Who knows! If anyone’s curious about him, feel free to ask questions!

    Honestly I can't think of much to critique about this piece. The sketchy lineart is so fun, your anatomy is a beautiful blend of the show-style and your own stylized ponies, and the facial expressions are just so.. Expressive! Not to mention the way the texture makes it look like it was drawn on paper! I love this, and it's also so fun giving people who don't watch the show ponysonas :3c

    See, I know I’m SUPER late to this discussion but I have a headcanon about this :3 Unicorns with magic-based talents have magic colors based on their cutiemarks. Meanwhile unicorns who aren’t magic focused have eye color based auras. Twilight and Shining Armor both have pink magic, as Twilight’s talent is magic in general, whilst Shining Armor’s is protection magic. They both have the pink stars in their cutiemarks, which is where their aura colors come from. Starlight’s talent is also magic, so her magic aura is taken from the cyan magic swirls in her cutiemark. Sunburst’s talent is the knowledge of magic, which is still a form of magic-based talent, so he gets his yellow colored magic from the beams in his cutiemark. Meanwhile Sweetie Belle has green magic and green eyes, because her talent is helping ponies with their talents. Her cutiemark has zero green within it, because it uses the pinks from each of the CMC’s manes. Trixie’s comes from her eyes, too, because her stage magic doesn’t require knowing hardcore spells. Flim and Flam have bright green magic that matches their eyes because apples aren’t known to symbolize magic within Equestria 😭 Of course there’s gonna be outliers, like Rarity! Oh.. Wait, her talent is sort of magic related.. That’s why her aura is taken from the lighter blue gems in her cutiemark, not the dark blue of her eyes! Her talent is gem magic, that’s how she earned her cutiemark as a filly and why she’s amazing with finding gems as an adult. She’s got a lesser magic talent, but it’s magic related nonetheless! Please let me know what you think of this, as it’s honestly one of my favorite partially-backed-by-canon headcanons I have! I love talking about this subject so much!

    Please lmk if screenshot edits aren’t allowed, but I read through the rules here and I didn’t see anything against them since they do take effort :> Here’s my latest screenshot edit of Night Bright and Sunburst! I’d post some of my older edits, but Night Bright’s design is kind of outdated in them ^^;; I do have tons of other screenshot edits, though, cause I love doing them and seeing my ponysona in the show’s style <3 Also critique is open, feel free to let me know if I need to focus on something to fix in any later edits I may post!
