  1. I don't like cooking that much, but there are some things I like to cook. I have to be in the mood to do it though.

I do like baking (but again I have to be in the mood for it)...

  2. I've allowed my depression to negatively affect my life in serious ways, such as having my drop out of high school at least once(though I did finally graduate, a year late) as well as cause me to quit not one but two jobs. That it hasn't yet destroyed my chances at earning a college degree is astounding to me.

This kinda sounds like me...well actually a lot like me except I didn't drop out, I was kicked out because of too many absences.
  3. This has happened several times. I'll be sitting at the table reading while I eat, reach out while still reading and not looking at what I'm doing, pick up my glass to take a drink and then look down and realize I am holding the salt shaker to my mouth.

I had just finished grocery shopping and was talking to someone on the phone while heading to my car. I hung up and placed the phone on the roof of the car while I loaded up the back seat. I drove home. Should I go on? I drove back really slow, and then searched all over. I ended up having to get a new phone!

My friend did that once, except she was heading from her house to the store, she put her phone on the roof and then forgot and drove off. She didn't realize it until she got to the store, and when she looked her phone was actually STILL THERE!
  4. I hate pencils because I'm a lefty and when I write I basically drag my hand across the page over everything I just wrote. If I'm using a pencil this results in graphite smudges all across the page and the edge of my hand ends up grey.

In school one year our teachers made us only write with erasable pens. It was awful, all my homework looked really messy and my hand was always blue.

  5. Once I decided it was a good idea to pick up trash in the yard by duct-taping a metal BBQ skewer to a metal pole. I went around the yard skewering things and putting them in the trash. Then I saw a bagel bag on the ground right in front of me so I poked it with the skewer...not realizing my big toe was actually underneath it. Of course I was wearing sandals at the time.

In 8th grade I was riding my bike (without a helmet of course) and I turned to look at something across the street and ran into a 1 foot tall "wall". I fell off and I guess the bike landed on my head somehow, because I ended up with a puncture wound on my scalp and I don't know how else that would have happened from falling on a flat surface(that part is kinda blurry.) Oh yeah I also stopped on the way to walking home and asked a "stranger" who was working in his garage if he had a cloth I could put on my head to stop the bleeding. Ok, not exactly a stranger but this man who lived in my neighborhood (who I'd talked to a few times before because I liked his German Shepherd.) Even if you ignore the "stranger danger", putting a rag from a garage on a head wound is probably not the best idea...

I had to go to the ER to get stitches.

I also once was reading a book while walking home from school, got really absorbed in it and then stopped because I was wondering when the next street was coming that I had to cross. I looked up and realized I had stopped in the middle of the street.

  6. I just watched "My Two Favorite People" and "Memories of Boom-Boom"

Lady Rainicorn is just so adorable!

LOL I was reading the TV Tropes page for Adventure time and it had a translation of what Lady Rainicorn says(she's speaking Korean) when they ask her if she knew any jokes:

Lady Rainicorn [in Korean]: I can't think of one... but remember the time when we ran naked through that farmer's cabbage patch? (Giggle) He was so offended!

    Finn: What's the joke?

Jake: Uh... well, the joke doesn't... translate very well...

That explains why Jake blushes and says that!

I like when Jake says "I remember why I drowned that translator now". Oh and the ending is funny:

Jake: Let's never be stupid again.

Finn: Wait! Let's ALWAYS be stupid! Forever! ^_^

  7. I had a rather startled reaction when...

TREETRUNKS EXPLODED after biting the apple!

LOL yeah my friend who I was talking about was like "WHAT! What! They can't just end it like that!" when that happened.

And the episode "Power Animal" that ends with Jake saying

    "Let's go eat Cinnamon Buns"

my friend actually gasped and was like

That's a good episode though. It's so weird...

I almost forgot to mention. Jake sounds like Bender, my favorite bending robot!

    LOL

Yup I thought so too when I first saw Adventure Time, so I checked and found out it's the same voice actor.
  8. I live in Chicago...so no guns. You have to jump through many hoops to get a gun permit here, and if you manage to get a permit, then it's still pretty much illegal to even step foot outside your house with a gun, or to own any ammo. I'm pretty sure airsoft guns aren't legal here either, or even paintball guns.

My brother has several firearms though, so it's fun when I visit him... He's in the "live free or die" state so yeah.

I have some nice custom knives but here in Chicago it's also illegal to carry a pocket knife with over 2.5" blade. So I leave the nice ones at home, in case they get confiscated... I'm pretty sure I wouldn't get in trouble for having a longer knife since I'm a "little" girl, but they might confiscate it.

  9. I got the whole series now. I watched the first episode and it was so weirdly funny! The Zombie Apocalypse in the Candy Kingdom! Oh nos!

I don't know if you got this far yet, but the zombies return in another episode. ^_^

I love how Lumpy Space Princess talks!

Me too. I don't know if you know the song "Let me borrow that top" but someone did a video of that with clips of LSP and it's really funny because the voice in the song sounds like her LOL

I won't link to it because there is some swearing but if you search youtube for Let LSP Borrow That Top you can find it.

I buckin' love adventure time and regular show.

Much better than most shows on cn now.

Are you sure you don't mean you lumpin' love it? ;)

  10. Oh yeah I also forgot to add, in our discussion about who would be which character we also decided my friend's little brother would be Finn. He actually is the same age as Finn and he can beatbox!

I did some looking around, and check out what I found! It's the original demo recording for "I'm Just Your Problem" performed by Rebecca Sugar, the woman that actually wrote it! I really love this song!

Yeah that is pretty cool! I like it better when Olivia Olsen(Marceline) sings it but it's neat to hear the whole lyrics.
  11. Yup!

My friends and I were talking about what if we did Adventure Time costumes. We decided I would be Marceline and it was funny because it fits. My friends and I always joke that I'm a vampire (because people always think I'm way younger than I am, and I never seem to look any older). I also am really sensitive to sunlight, like yesterday I managed to get a really bad sunburn even though it was really overcast/foggy and snowing all day and I wasn't outside much (plus it's winter.) The funny thing is since last summer I've been planning to get one of those big floppy hats to protect my face from the sun, and I just realized yesterday that Marceline wears one of those too.

Unfortunately I can't sing or play bass guitar!

One thing I think is interesting is that the characters don't always wear the same clothes and have their hair the same in every episode, unlike a lot of cartoons. Especially Marceline, and Princess Bubblegum also has different outfits.

I saw this in the wiki(about Marceline):

According to Pen Ward, her clothing changes from episode to episode because "girls own more than one outfit".

    Also on the wiki:

Ward has also stated that Finn has blonde hair which can be seen in "To Cut a Woman's Hair," where Finn removed his hat (one of three times he has done so), and long, golden locks of hair flowed out. His hair had a glowing sheen and extended his body length, until he cut it off and gave it to the Tree Witch. His hair subsequently began to regrow, as shown in "Mortal Folly", "Heat Signature" , "No One Can Hear You ", and "Another Way ".

So that's kinda interesting, that they actually keep track of that sort of thing.

  12. Anyone else like the show Adventure Time? I had seen a few episodes of of it before and I thought it was ok, but I recently started Tivo-ing it and watching more, and the more I watched it the more I liked it! It's so weird, and it's one of the few shows where I don't feel like changing the channel every time they start singing (I actually like the songs unlike most shows.)

I even got a friend of mine addicted to the show... We might even dress up like some of the characters for a convention this spring. ^_^

So I was wondering if anyone else likes this show, and if you wanna talk about it we can do that here!

    p.s. I love this song:

  13. If it's true, I would say the twitter thing is maybe just to sort of get back at the girl for dumping him?

Actually I just found out about something similar (the dumping part) from someone I know; the relative of a friend of mine just lost his mother to cancer, and his younger brother's dad(they had different fathers) apparently dumped his mother when he found out she had cancer, said he couldn't handle it and then did not even visit her in the hospital.

  14. I hate my voice so I wasn't gonna post anything, but then I remembered there is a video on Youtube where you can hear me... So here is me making a weird/silly/fake voice for my friend's goofy video:

(I'm the "paparazzi" asking the stupid questions, no I don't normally sound like that, I was trying to sound strange LOL...also, I didn't pick the questions to ask, my friend gave me a script)

p.s. this is my friend who is like a human version of Pinkie Pie without even trying.

  15. I am sitting on my computer at home reading this forum/typing this reply. ^_^

Oh yeah I'm also listening to Rapture Radio, which has absolutely nothing at all to do with religious-- it's Rapture as in the city from the game Bioshock and it's music from the games (ie music from the 30s and 40s mostly.)

    Rapture Radio:

A few minutes ago I was eating dinner too, but I'm done now... Hillshire Farms chicken, apple and gouda sausages are yummy! And I don't usually like Gouda!
