  1. Disney and Paramount have lost faith in physical media at this point. For the past several years, I've been contacting Disney to release more Disney Channel content (both new and old) on DVD and even encouraged others to do the same, yet to this day, the Zenon movies (one of my favorite DCOM series) are still not officially available on DVD (despite being on Disney+ and digital storefronts) and we're already a year past the first film's 25th anniversary. Not to mention the closure of Disney Movie Club has lead to dozens of Disney Blu-rays becoming absurdly expensive due to no longer being available to purchase directly. ZOMBIES 3 is also MIA on physical media despite the first two films having been released on DVD and a fourth film in the series being in production.

Paramount isn't doing much better as they've axed the standalone Blu-ray releases of their new movies making the only way to buy their movies on the format through 4K combo packs, I've also heard rumors of them phasing out 1080p Blu-rays completely, making DVD and 4K the only physical formats you could buy their movies on in this scenario. If they even dare to go through with this, it will lead to many people who can't afford a decent 4K player (including myself) boycotting new releases from Paramount.

It's like the movie industry is trying its hardest to force us to resort to streaming, which has its own set of problems, mainly the fact that nothing is available online forever to the point where a title can be removed at any given time. :worry:

I will give the Normal difficulty a try and maybe replay the songs from last year's event later.

tires. like, on their own. standing upright. there was this horror movie of a tire that rolled around and disposed of individuals in a very graphic manner, which then led me to believe that tires had an innate dissatisfaction with humans and were, indeed, vulnerable to possession, vexation, or other supernatural maladies.

but as we all know, movies are NOT real and so i eventually got over it :3

I remember when my younger brother bought that movie (in addition to Brawlers and A Christmas Story 2) on Xfinity On Demand and my parents were shocked when he did that. He was 5 years old at the time and this was before they added a feature in Parental Controls to restrict purchases on their On Demand service. :double-shock:

  5. I had two portable DVD players, both of which were designed to open up like a laptop. The first one was a pink Polaroid brand player that my older brother got for Christmas back in 2004, it was our first dedicated DVD player (our first computer with a DVD drive was my mom's old laptop, which we got a couple years prior) and I remember the last movie we watched on it was Tinkerbell in 2008/09. We got rid of it not long after that.

In 2018, I bought a silver Audiovox portable DVD player at a local Goodwill for $20. Its battery was dead and it didn't come with an AC adapter, so I had to buy an AC adapter separately on eBay for about $10 extra. I didn't use it frequently, though the one advantage that it had over our home DVD/Blu-ray players (barring a JVC DVD/VCR combo which is in need of repair) was that it could play PAL DVDs, though I don't remember if it could play DVDs with regions codes other than 0 or 1. Its AV output jacks doubled as an AV input (which can be toggled by a slide switch on the side), so it could also be used as a video monitor. Its screen backlight died the last time I tested it a couple years ago, so I had to get rid of it. I probably could've modified it to use LED strips for a backlight, but I didn't have the time to dive into that.

I hope to find another portable DVD player at a local thrift store the next time I go to one, even though I doubt I'll find myself in a situation where it would be necessary to use one anytime soon. I heard the later Sony models were desirable since they had a higher resolution screen than most other players, and I heard they also made portable Blu-ray players.
