  1. Well, this is the end. I leave the forums. I'm going to say It was an unexpected experience. I keep my reasons for myself. The best thing is the friends I've made and the opportunity to experience again the same feelings I had when I was a Child back in early 2000's.

    Farewell.

      TheRockARooster

I'm so sorry that you're leaving, Arrlong. :(

I hope we see you again in the future, my friend.

Take care of yourself, we'll miss you.

  2. I'm feeling worse. I'm reviving everything I don't like of this reality + what happened Friday with my feelings about a success Chinese Chess workshop. It's a dark spiral that goes down and down. My head hurts a lot. I'm going to leave the forum until I feel recovered. See you later.
  3. I've been born woth Asperger's and also I have depressive tendencies. Also I always had respiratory problems. If I get homeless again, now in winter, probably I will pass away due respiratory problems. Heart and blood disorders too. I'm also a bit under the common inteligence level. I don't wish my life to nobody even to my enemies.
  4. This repetitive and medieval song is Called in English, "John Little dances" or "Joan Petit que dança" in occitan and catalan. It's a Catalan and Occitan song that teachers use to teach the parts of the body names to the children. But the context of this song we usually don't know until we grow up: It's a Torture song. Joan Petit or John Little was a Peasant Revolt Leader that was captured by the French and then tortured being tied on a spinning wheel in front of the king of France.
  5. I feel Great! Or that is what I though I'm going to feel like... The Chinese Chess workshop it's been an incredible success. 12 people playing Chinese Chess, drinking tea... (2 more than expected). They even played one hour more than usual, like 2 hours. Instead I feel very bad. It hurts my spine a lot, I want to sleep and never wake up again... Or at least, never feel the same again... I'm feeling ashamed of myself for feeling like this instead of being happy. I'm scared of success.
  6. Did I say that there are a Kind of Apple in here in the south that is called "Ice Apple" that has a LOT of sugar, so the sugar sometimes crystallize inside the apple, and turn the apple more resistant to rooting? And you can put one of those apples in the wardrobe so the clothes can smell good? Apples Rock'an Roll!!!
  7. Apples. Apples are the most versatile fruit. You can eat them, cook them, make pastry, used in salads, make cider, Juice... Can give you immortality.
  8. The problem with cilantro is for some people it tastes like soap. So if you're cooking for other people you should tell them there's some cilantro there. Other than that, cilantro in some dishes is good... But I like more the versatility of Parsley and Garlic together. If you like garlic bread, I think there's a big chance that you will enjoy Parsley + Garlic+olive oil+salt sauce. Specially used in grilled fishes (Swordfish is my favorite) and mushrooms.
  9. Megrisolano is a great youtuber that made videos for English and Spanish Speakers. I saw this video about my city and I felt proud.
  10. The Godfather. All my friends watched this movie and told me I should watch It. It's an awesome movie, and I understood why some people though I was a Mobster! Next movie I want to watch, MLP: A new generation. So I can relax of all the "dark" stuff I saw in The Godfather.
  11. Welcome to the forums! I've only seen Garlic bread in american fast food pizzerias like Domino's. But I'm Spanish so... Garlic is our most basic spice, and I love it XD With Garlic almost everything can taste a lot better.
  12. Tortilla Española / Spanish Omelette Tortilla in Spain Spanish (or Castillian Spanish) it means "Omelette". There's two kind of basic "Tortillas" in Spain. Tortilla Española / Spanish Omelette and Tortilla Francesa / French Omelette. Tortilla Francesa or French Omelette is NOT a tapas. It's an Omelette made only with egg. Sometimes we can add milk or cheese. Tortilla Española or Spanish Omelette can be made as TAPAS (It can also be used as a part on a sandwich, for example.) It's made with eggs and potatoes. There's a big discusion if it the taste is better with some Onion or without it. I personally love Tortilla Española With Onion. Theres a lot of regional varieties that add more ingredients. The best I tasted is Tortilla Española with rabbit livers in Pamplona.
  13. Hi! The thing is: what it means "to dress better" for you? Maybe you can post here some images of people dressed in the style you want, so we can help you better. What is the color of your hair? What is the tone of your skin? How do you want other people perceive you?
  14. You know, friendship is about love and as such, you can be yoursefl! Even the other person is from another religion, different political views and you two can think each other is absolute wrong. That's the beauty of friendship There's a Spanish Saying: You have a friend, then you have a treasure.
  15. Patatas Bravas / "Bold Potatoes" Very common Tapa. Fried potatoes but cut in a cube like shape. The best one's are the potatoes that are hand cut by the cookers one hours before open the bar. The sauce can be "Salsa Brava" / "Bold Sauce" which is a bit spicy and reddish. In Barcelona, sometimes there's this sauce we call in our regional language "Alioli" that means "Garlic and Oil". It's self explicative. Very strong flavour and it's just made with olive oil and garlic. It's yellow/white color sauce.
  16. My best friends and I known each other for 31 years. The other best friend I know him since he had 12 years until now that he has 31. They are my brothers from another mothers. they accepted my weirdness when nobody at that time did, during the worst days of my life. They had seen me in my worst moments. We are so close that we greet each other with a hug and two kisses in the cheeks being males. Anybody that sees that in Spain knows automatically we are VERY close. If I was a mobster (which I'm not) and they tell me someone disrespected them, those people will get into trouble. I've meet fantastic people in the forums as well. They are my friends, But as Princess Twilight say, friendship is a long path with up's and down's, hard to maintain and the roots need to grow deeper (and that needs time), but without friends I can assure you life has no meaning.
  17. Food is an important part of the culture and one of the most Spanish food is the "Tapas"! In this lesson we are going to learn about Tapas. *Disclaimer: this topic probably will make you hungry! Remember that Tapas are regional snacks and for that reason can be VERY different from one place to another and it's impossible cover all of it in a forum! Tapas are appetizers or snacks, hot or cold, that can be given free along a cup of beer or wine: like olives or peanuts. Tapas can be Combined to make a full meal. So if you want to eat with family and/or friends different dishes, a good way to enjoy them is combine some Tapas for lunch or supper. There's one rule or Etiquette when eating tapas. It's called "El Último Trozo de la Vergüenza" or "The Last Piece of Shame". Since it's a social oriented meal when the rule is sharing the food, it's considered rude to eat the last piece of the Tapas without asking the other diners. Always offer the last piece to the other diners, and if they refuse, then you can eat it. I'm from Barcelona, so I'm going to show you the more common Tapas in my neighborhood. Jamón con pan y tomate / Spanish Ham with bread and tomato This is a very common way in Barcelona to enjoy Spanish Ham. Spanish Ham is a very refined way of eating ham. The pigs that make the best ham are the "Iberian" race and they are not raised "enclosed" in a building eating... Who knows what. Instead, the best Spanish Ham is made with pig's that are raised "Outdoors" in the fields, full of Acorns. So the idea is that the the pigs can move free in the fields (doing exercise) and eat from the land, specifically a lot of acorns at their disposal. The other thing that changes the taste of the Spanish Ham is the "cut". The way you cut the ham have influence in the taste. The bread is usually one called in the regional language "Pà de Pagés" or "Farmer's bread" It's a big toasted loaf of bread. But can also be not toasted. Then, since the toasted loaf has more "hard" surface, we rub the tomato against the bread to cover the bread with the tomato juices. (If you like spicy, before the tomato and only if the bread is toasted, rub a clove of garlic along the surface). Add some salt and olive oil and Voilà! Enjoy the bread and the ham as you like. Chipirones / Fried Baby Squid Rejos / Fried Squid Tentacles Chocos / Fried pieces of Cuttlefish Those are self explanatory. We add a bit of lemon juice to give a more fresh flavor. Croquetas / Croquettes Croquetas are fried rolls, basically made with Bechamel+mushrooms or Ham, seafood... Typically leftovers. Then the Bechamel paste is mixed and then rolled, covered with egg and breadcrumbs, then fried. In my family we can make like 40 of those, but that is uncommon. Normally you pay by unit or a portion of 4-6 Croquettes. Theres a LOT more Tapas, but the post will be gigantic. I will post more Tapas here. Do you know or have tasted more tapas?
  18. Well, now my mood improved. It turns out that the Workshop of Chinese Chess that I'm going to do next week is FULL! 10 PEOPLE! That's a LOT more than I expected. I feel a bit bad smiling, knowing that someone close is suffering... But that Improved my mood.
  19. Feeling better. It's fascinating how fast humans can recovery from such bad experiences and shocks. Probably I will have some more scars forever, but feeling better today. I wish I didn't lose my love for MLP FiM, but it's to early to know. I'm going to try to post here when I feel good feelings too.
  20. Sheakespeare. (Ops, I though was Art, not only music ) I just d'ont believe an Englishman that never travelled outside England had the knowledge and skills to write and describe with that precision the Venice of It's time. Being two cultures Totally different.
  21. Feeling shocked. I don't know If I'm going to watch MLP or listen Happy music again. My soul has a lot of scars... Life is though, and always there's surprises. We've come to learn something we needed, help others and then leave. It's a bit like Twilight Sparkle. You live in paradise, you get down to earth and it's not your choice, learn something you didn't know you needed and then you help others and one day return to Canterlot. Sorry to write only bad stuff, and not writing sometimes when good things happen.
  22. Welcome to the forums!! To me, the forum give's me a nostalgia feeling (I was an avid forums user back in early 2000's) and it's very alive and full of great people!! Have a great day too!
  23. Wow. That sounds and looks delicious! It's a way to use avocado that I find it very Interesting to try. This is what I ate for breakfast today. "Butifarra with beans". Butifarra is like a big sausage made with pork. My favourite is Yellow Butifarra with beans. It's a yellow sausage because it's made with eggs. But it's only aviable in february.
