I can understand your love for Princess Luna in MLP FIM, Equestrian Goth, really I can.

While I would not want to marry or date her, I would still want to prove my loyalty to Equestria if I was in my fanfiction world. And yes I would like to be Princess Luna's friend. Upon first meeting her I would be shy of her, but if I were my OC in that fantasy world, could learn a lot from somepony like her, she could help me to face my fears and be more courageous.
