Streets of Rage 4 is by far the best beat em up video game I've played. It improved on Streets of Rage 2 in so many ways, the weapon system, combos, and even the boss fights. Food gets you points if your health is already full, encouraging more skillful play, and your special attacks don't automatically reduce health anymore, you can reclaim health back if you avoid being hit. In my opinion, special attacks sucked in Streets of Rage 2 because while they can get you out of sticky situations sometimes, they also put you more at risk, but sometimes you need to use a special attack as otherwise your enemy attacks can override your own, examples Abadede and R Bear, and they essentially functioned as cheat codes for AI to screw you over if you relied on specials too often.
