gaming How are your thoughts about Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare?
Jammo replied to Auditormadness9's topic in Media Discussion
Advanced Warfare is my favorite CoD of this gen. Infinite Warfare feels like Blops 3 but faster. I have a lot to say really. I actually feel the bulk of the games issues could be solved with longer time to kill. I'm not bothered by the space thing. CoD has never done space combat, at least, not a central focus. The maps are hit or miss. They kind of remind me of Modern Warfare 3 which was very cluttered and corridor-based but great for twitch shooting. Right now it's looking to be my #3 shooter. With Overwatch #1 and Modern Warfare Remastered as #2 and my go to CoD this year.- 49 replies

Who Is The Best And Baddest Villian of All?
Jammo replied to AndrewKnapp's topic in MLP:FiM Canon Discussion
Tirek I see as irredeemable or nonnegotiable. Far more take charge and outwardly cruel. I consider Chrysalis a very evil character. I never saw her do her thing "just for her hive". She got sick enjoyment out of her actions. But I can see someone striking up a mutual agreement with her, and I actually can picture her honoring it if it works in her favor. Tirek I don't see having such honor.- 36 replies

Chris-chan is the ultimate Internet's failure of social Darwinism. I feel kind of bad for him as I genuinely think he doesn't understand or care how dire his situation is.

Perhaps she could try to repair things with Silver Spoon, only to learn how hard it can be to repair a fractured relationship. It's even impossible sometime, even if you are truly sorry. It's a harsh lesson to learn, and worth exploring because a lot of the kids who grew up with this show are now in high school... A place where this scenario happens a lot.

I'd love Sea Ponies. They were popular in past gens, to me it's a missed opportunity, both as toys and plot not to explore the oceans and their culture. I mean we got the breezies. If this show ends and we never see G4s Sea Ponies I'm gonna be bummed. Think of the story potential. The fanfics from a whole other ocean world explored.

Most are. Well. Is this a cliche stock character or does it have to be applicable to a real life group of people? Cartoons have a habit of being made of stereotypes as the character traits are often exaggerated for humorous effect. Snips and Snails are 1-dimensional morons, Applejack oozes every country gal stereotype. The reality is, to leave an impression and make people remember a character, you have to exaggerate. If they acted realistic (most being Joe Everypony with minor quirks) it would not be as endearing. It would just be a bland stew of unremarkability.

I never had the privilege of eating those. I should have seized my chance. I just assumed they'd exist in the future.

Yes. Putting aside the constant invoking of greek mythology in it's creatures Cloudsdale has a ton of greek themes. Heck. The founder Commander Hurricane even dressed as a Spartan. Plus there's plenty to support Cloudsdale were primarily Equestrias military during its founding. How they are organized, disciplined, combined with the dress and greek archetexture makes me believe this is no coincidence.

My guess / hope. Gen 5 will start BUT, every year we get a new made-for-tv pony movie that shows us what's been happening since the end. Similar to how Hasbro made Gen1 Transformers stuff for decades, I honestly wouldn't be surprised if after the shows finale we'll either get a soft reboot / time skip or a new Gen trying new things while trying to appeal to us, with occassional Gen 4 stuff to throw us bones / fall back on if we don't cling to FiMs successor.

Given how frequently they cite the mortal, harmable Celestia's name as an oath (Sweet Celestia) it could be seen as either hero worship, dogmatic conviction to a monarchy or even a personality cult. The mysticism and myth of Equestria does tie into ponies lifestyles but tends to lean more to the esoteric style of spirituality. I think this is because what's unknown is unknown but a lot of the questions people on Earth try to answer are absolutes in Equestria. There is magic, miraculous things like ascension and celestial planes are confirmed to exist so a framework of belief exists because ponies see it.

Magical Mystery Cure could be seen as an allegory for biblical death, ascension and rebirth. Twilight being a miracle worker, favoured by what's essentially a God, faces a great trial, solves it but appears to have been sacrificed in the process. She is taken to a heavenly plane, her life is reflected upon before she returns to earth as a higher being, complete with a star appearing in the sky and angelic wings.

Landstalker on SEGA Genesis. It's a Zelda clone, really fun, challenging but rewarding. It is held back by a very frustrating isometric perspective with an emphasis on tricky platforming. Worth at least trying. Final Fantasy Adventure (the first Mana game) on Gameboy. Glorious soundtrack, satisfying gameplay, a real underloved Classic. Magi-Nation on Gameboy Color. Before the franchise was bought out and radically shifted in tone, this was a monster battler with a very fascinating lore and surreal, smart-ass sense of humour that means to worth checking out.

I had a game called The Simpsons: Escape from Camp Deadly on Gameboy. It was frustrating, tuned too hard and was just generally a vary tiring, depressing game. I'm not gonna name the obvious choices, games which people rarely play, but demonize due to popular opinion.
