  1. Um.. Probably Psych rock. Or indie rock. Or indie Psych rock. Or maybe Prog rock... I listen to a lot a different music genres and styles, so it doesn't really matter.

I have my ways... XD If I really like an album I'll get it on vinyl. There's just something really appealing about having music in giant physical form.
  3. Excluding the PC, I would have to say the classic Xbox, though all the Nintendo consoles are pretty much runners up. You really can't argue with JSRF, Psychonauts, Star Wars Battlefront (+2) and Republic Commando, and there are so many gems on this console I can't name enough of them.
  4. The first half of Insidious was pretty damn shitpants. It's a royal shame about that second half however, I don't understand how hard it was to just not do what they ended up doing. Other than that the scariest film I've seen is probably The Woman in Black, which wasn't as scary as I thought it was going to be.
  5. If Valve were to go to Linux and very few people were impressed with Windows 8, don't you think that other companies and developers may start developing for Linux too? This would potentially convince more people to come to Linux, as it doesn't cost as much as a Mac and is a good alternative to 8. A full version of this cherry-picked interview with Gabe Newell can be viewed here: http://venturebeat.com/2012/07/25/valves-gabe-newell-talks/
  6. Cowboy Bebop's theme would wake me up in the morning pretty damn well. It would also scare the crap out of me for a few seconds, but there we go.
  7. The trick with the Scout is to keep jumping all over the place in extremely random and unpredictable patterns. It's also very good to not move in a straight line, particularly when going backwards, as a Scout is an irresistible target to any Spy because of how tricky it is to backstab them, and standing behind a reversing Scout is an easy kill.
  8. People like you are the reason nobody gets wishes any more I'd wish for immortality (as in both eternal life and indestructibility) Come on though, who doesn't want to be able to be completely and utterly reckless?
  9. Not a patch on the stuff in this thread but Grave of The Fireflies is the most heartbreaking film in existence. There's one thing I can think of which tops this though, and it's The Antler's album Hospice. It's a concept album which 'tells the story of a relationship between a hospice worker and a female patient suffering from terminal bone cancer, their ensuing romance, and their slow downward spiral as a result of the woman's traumas, fears, and disease.' (From Wikipedia) It's pretty brutal to listen to and the only thing I have cried at which has not physically affected my life in some way.
  10. Seen Bombay Bicycle Club in Plymouth in April, just been to Chagstock Festival, both were amazing. But the real treat is that I get to go see Blur in Plymouth on August 7.
  11. I used Ubuntu for a while before I ran into software issues with it which resulted in the kernel not booting or something but it was the smoothest and most enjoyable experience I have had with an OS, and if I didn't have to keep going back to windows to play TF2 and the like, I would've never touched windows again. The idea of this coming into play really excites me.
  12. Does Jet Set Radio Future count here yet or am I too early to cherish my baby? Is 10.5 years enough?
  13. I strongly doubt that microsoft would be willing to add in the sales that make steam so damn popular in first place. Without them, steam isn't even half what it currently is.
  14. I've been playing TF2 for a long time now and I've had a lot of fun but which class to choose has always been a problem of mine and I've constantly been switching classes. What's got me pinned down lately is which classes are hardest to play well however and I was wondering what you guys thought? Personally, 1. Scout/Spy (can't decide) 3. Sniper 4. Pyro 5. Medic/Soldier 7. Demoman 8. Engineer/Heavy (Not that any of the classes are particularly easy to play well)
  15. Most of the time I play on normal, but I often up the difficulty if I'm decent at the game. It depends though, I play The Conduit with the cheats for infinite ammo so I can play it like a run and gun game, because that''s more fun. I'll always play fighting and bullet hell games on easy though. Because they're always so hard.
  16. Alternative hip-hop, Deltron 3030 and the like. It's a very hard concept to explain to your friends who have not heard any good rapping before and are adamant that it's all the same.
  17. Metroid Prime is most definitely not an FPS, more a first person adventure game. The shooting isn't anywhere near as important to the gameplay as other factors.
  18. I was exploring a cave when I heard a lot of mob noises. Being in no situation to tackle the mobs around the corner, I backed away, right into a 1 block wide hole in the floor which fell into a dark corridor. Instant pantshitting moment.
  19. Cowboy Bebop opening theme - Tank I cbf to link but you really can't argue.
  20. Metroid/Zelda soundtracks are incredibly well suited for their setting. And of course the Jet Set Radio series because it's soo upbeat.
  21. I'm sorry to hear you haven't played Jet Set Radio...
  22. Prime 3 has nothing on the other prime games. I mean seriously, half the boss fights take place in exactly the same room, half the power-ups aren't used enough and it lacks Metroid's trademark loneliness most of the time, which even Other M managed (surprisingly, considering you're in a ship full of people) and don't even get me started on those boss fights. The best of the lot was the first Ridley fight and that was less than an hour into the game. That said, Elysia is one of the highlights of the series, and I can't think of a more inventive environment in the series bar Sanctuary Fortress.
  23. I tend to favour the spy in TF2, and on my old steam account (before it locked me out DX) I used to go with Revolver, Conniver's Kunai and Cloak and Dagger, as it allows for an easier escape once you've killed and an easy way to heal plus the Revolver has good damage and the C+D allows me to hide for long enough to be forgotten.
