    What game are you playing right now?

    Just got Super Mario 3D Land today, and it's basically Mario Galaxy 3, except instead of planetoids the levels are more like super-tall dioramas with a few 2D Mario elements mixed in- I like it so far, it feels familiar yet fresh to me. :D

    Mario Party 9. That's all I have to say about that. Mario is awesome. I used to play Mario Kart Wii, but then my brother broke it because I was beating by so much. :P So yeah... No more MKW for me...

    MP9 is the best Mario Party game in years, there's not a bad thing that I'd say about it.

    MLP:FiM Comic Book Series Discussion

    I just read it... somehow. Anyway, it was really amazing, I don't usually read comics but this was really just amazing, every brony should read it if you ask me- the characters are true to themselves, the humor is top-notch and the shoutouts are NUMEROUS. It's also a teeny tiny bit more skewed towards an older audience, but absolutely no charm is lost because of it. I highly, highly recommend it! :D

    There isn't a button on the bottom that says 'View Full Version'? Then again, I'm usually here on a mobile in the full version, so that might not be there on a computer... maybe clearing your cache or cookies would help. :huh:

    Fandoms you're in?

    The brony fandom is the only fandom I really interact/socialize with, used to be Pokemon but I got bored with the forum I was on after a while. I used to be pretty into the Super Smash Bros. fandom as well, speculating about the upcoming Wii U/3DS titles like crazy. I'm a huge Nintendo fan in general though, always have been and will be. I like lots of animated shows too like Adventure Time, Avatar/Korra, classic Spongebob, Regular Show, Futurama, and Invader ZIM and the animes Dragon Ball Z and Soul Eater, but I wouldn't consider myself a super-fan of any of them like I am with My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic. :huh:

    3DS! I've had one for about a month now, and it's been real good to me. 3D screen/graphics, good library of console quality games, backward compatiblity with DS games, portability, neat extra features- it's got pretty much everything I need out of a game console for now. :)

    Is season 3 destined to ruin Pinkie Pie's reputation?

    No way, I think they're just exaggerating here a bit more is all. I personally though she was perfect in The Crystal Empire, the funniest Pinkie's ever been imo. And Too Many Pinkie Pies was a pretty ok episode, I mean sure the clones were annoying but they were supposed to be, and the real Pinkie was acting nothing like them in the end. And as for her puns in One Bad Apple, sure they were kind of out of place but they didn't ruin the whole episode for me, that's ridiculous. There's still a lot of season 3 left to go, so let's not jump to these sort of conclusions so quickly just yet. :huh:

    You know, I think the main point of "Too Many Pinkie Pies" might have been to poke fun at the previous generations and what pony-haters think of the show. Allow me to explain.

     

    The earliest generations of MLP weren't really bad. They were made in the 80's based on plastic pony toys. I think they did a pretty decent job. But generation 3 is probably one of the more well-known (at least more thought-of) generations when it comes to MLP for anyone who doesn't know anything about the show. Like you hear many bronies say today, they were reluctant to watch the show, due to the overly-girly-stereotype ideas coming into their minds.

     

    So anyone who doesn't know anything about the show is probably thinking of G3, which, as I had mentioned, is fueled by female gender stereotype; pinkness everywhere, girly-girly stuff, tea parties, cheesy over-done voice acting, "having fun," etc. Of course that's going to push a LOT of people away from MLP:FiM.

     

    Now let's take a look at the events in Too Many Pinkie Pies. Pinkie really cares about her friends, and she doesn't wanna have to choose between them when they're doing different things at different times (I know that feel). So she duplicates herself, not knowing that her duplications actually won't be exactly like her; they're made of her "fun" side. So they are very one-dimensional. Kind of like the ponies in G3.

     

    So all those "fun" Pinkies get out of control and cause trouble, you see that the only true Pinkie is actually sad and worried. She has character. Pinkie Pie isn't actually all about "fun fun fun," she just cares about her friends, and she's sad because her friends are upset about her clones, and that if they don't figure out who she is, they may send her into the pond by accident. So she does something that only a character with depth would be able to do - she sits there and watches paint dry with much determination, as the other depth-less Pinkies become distracted by their super-happy-fun-ness.

     

    As we know, one of the Pinkies morphed her face into a G3 pony . . . and was quickly sent away.

     

    So combining all this information, to me, makes it seem like they were trying to show that MLP:FiM isn't like the loveless, generic pony days of old. It's full of diverse characters with depth, beautiful animation and voice acting, and of course . . . love. And that's why it isn't just a bunch of cookie-cutter ponies with cookie-cutter personalities.

    Today marks me having been a brony for one full year.

    I didn't expect to like the show at all when I first watched, in fact I really wasn't too sure if I liked it even after seeing it! But after a bit of thinking I decided I did in fact like it, and decided to watch more. The brony fandom has been such a good thing to me, I don't think there's any way I'll ever leave... not while there's still show to see and hundreds of things to still talk about! Brony forever! <3

    Annoying memes are annoying memes, they are popular and people will overuse them no matter what, so I really just don't care.

    I sometimes use swag :blush: but I hate when people use YOLO. The only time I ever use that is when "you obviously love Oreos" needs to be said. :P;)

    I didn't know Octavia was so popular I mean she is like, one of the best background ponies but I thought Derpy was the most popular. Also whats all this about TM87? I didn't know Swagger was such a useful move. Eh maybe it's good in competitive battling.

     

    It's hard not to love Octavia! And Swagger is pretty luck-based, those kinds of moves are usually pretty looked down upon in competitive Pokemon battling. ;)

    Am I the only one who really wanted a new Cutie mark Crusader?

    I think Babs joining the Cutie Mark Crusaders was pretty cool, not really something I particularly wanted to see but it was nice nontheless, kind of saw it coming after learning she was a blank flank though. It'd be cool to see by the end of the series if/when the mane 3 crusaders get their cutie marks, they then learn Babs really worked to spread word of mouth of the CMC and we see young ponies everywhere having these little clubs and whatnot, and maybe even something bigger- that'd be really cool and give Apple Bloom, Sweetie Belle, and Scootaloo a real sense of fulfilment and be a great end to their story in my opinion. :D

    Were Rarity and Applejack even in older seasons? The part where they referenced past ones looked to me like they were speaking of ponies that came from past generations.

     

    They were indeed I believe. Fluttershy was the only main pony to have a 100% original name in FiM, the rest were either reused or retinkered(Twilight Twinkle>Twilight Sparkle).

    And wait, it does seem they didn't mention Rarity, what the hay man? :o

    Awesome article, great new clip there too. The news just keeps getting more and more positive throughout the months about us, and while it's not entirely neccesary, bronies being viewed in a positive light is a very good thing. :)

    oh goodness no, i know there is more of it then that i'm just...horribly scared to keep going in Okami...partly because i know i'll SUCK at those races with...um...oh yeah Tobi, plus...i know of the Blockhead at the end...those things are nightmares...

     

    Ah I see. I don't know, I don't remember those sections being all that difficult in my experience though, pretty great dungeon in my opinion.
