  1. As a Giants fan I'm rooting for the Panthers. It tickles me that Eli has one more super bowl win than Peyton.
  2. Mario Maker. I've been buying too many games recently. I'm building up quite a backlog of stuff I've hardly touched.

    general media Yu-Gi-Oh!

I watched the entire series over the course of a few months on youtube a few years back. I always dug it, even if I realized its many faults. I only had a passing interest in the card game. I was more into MTG
  4. I still own hundreds of CDs. I'm not looking forward to the day when there isn't a laptop on the market that has a disk drive for which to upload them. I could start buying vinyl, I guess. Its the one medium that isn't going away. But then again I don't listen to music much when I'm home. Mostly when I'm at work, or on walks, or in the car.
  5. Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen I've obviously seen movies with worse production values and acting and such. I've never seen a movie that had more contempt for its audience. It was 2.5 hours of incoherent noise. I could feel Michael bay laughing his head off, counting money with a cigar hanging out of his mouth. Saying something like, "Man, these idiots will watch anything."
  6. Really feeling this post. I've been feeling like lately the cure to loneliness is to be the type of person others want to be around. Like if we can all start creating interesting things, we will be seen as more interesting people. Best of luck, man. Let us know how your endeavors go. I need to pick something to fill the hours, too. Getting started is so hard...
  7. Bummed that I didn't eat a proper dinner. Bummed that my night wasn't as fun as I hoped. Wishing my roommate would get home so we could watch scary movies together
  8. Pissed Jeans might be my favorite silly band name. If I ever learn an instrument I'm calling my band Comma, Fail
  9. I guess I would free myself from worldly desires. Maybe I'd just be better off not wanting things for the rest of my life.
  10. Amazing stuff. Thank you for this show, MLP crew! A perfect episode for the 5 year anniversary
  11. The scene in Winter Wrap-Up where AJ yelled at Twilight hit too close to home for me. I've often felt like that. You're just trying to help and everyone just thinks you're in the way
  12. I don't even really know how to find it lol. Which is probably a good thing
  13. I downloaded a bundle of a lot of comics a while back and still haven't gotten around to reading most of them. I think I should go to the store to pick up physical copies. It just feels different holding something in your hands.
  14. I only have one and I do wear it. When somebody recognizes its an MLP shirt the interaction usually goes something like: Them: Oh, Rarity! Me: Yeah Them: Are you a brony? Me: Y-yeah Not that I'm embarrassed by liking MLP or anything. Little interactions like this tend to just catch me off guard
  15. Mission Hill. It never really stood a chance on its network and timeslot but it was truly ahead of its time
  16. I have noticed this. It's not too bothersome I guess. I like to think of Ponyville as more of a neighbors taking care of neighbors kind of community. You could also make a solid argument for the Mane 6 being the de facto lawkeepers in Ponyville since the town looks to them in times of crisis
  17. I'm getting steadily better as I get older. If I don't keep junk in the house I can usually avoid thinking about it. But there is that once a month or so where I order pizza and just eat until I'm ready to explode I think if I can start cutting back on soda I could have a diet that is at least pretty good.
  18. How do you embed things? I always want to contribute to these types of threads. : /
  19. The music of My Bloody Valentine. Seems like it'd be right up my alley with my other tastes. I listen Loveless once or twice a year thinking this will be the time it clicks! Everyone loves this album! But nope
  20. I think about this issue a lot and still haven't come to any solid conclusion. I am a male, I act like one, think like one, rationalize like one etc. I also reject every western idea of masculinity. I despise seeing anything or anyone being mistreated and I feel like the presence of a Y chromosome means evil is always somewhat afoot, somewhere, below the surface to every action taken. I also wonder if people like myself who are only slightly gender confused see the other gender as a 'vacation' of sorts. Like, I'm unhappy with most things in my life that I don't have the ability to change. Switching genders would give some semblance of control and relief from world-weariness and allow me to see things in a new perspective. Or so I think. Obviously it's not even close to this simple.
  21. I do think the Voyager Golden Record is a beautiful idea. Space is so unspeakably, ridiculously vast that the chances of any intelligent civilization finding it are slim to none. So we don't have to worry about being conquered (probably). It's much more likely such an advanced civilization would have a matter replicator like on Star Trek and would really have no need to conquer us for natural resources.
  22. I guess as I've gotten older I've become more aware of this sort of thing. I'm not saying jokes with a little bit of a dark undertone can't be hilarious if they are delivered with wit and timing. But I guess the uncomfortable truth behind racist, or sexist, or homophobic jokes is that they are exclusionary. I as a white male tend to mostly interact with other white males on a day to day basis. If someone in that group whether its a friend or co-worker or whatever makes a joke like that, it kind of puts us into a little bubble from the outside world. Its as if these types of jokes imply that we are whats 'normal' and that other groups are not.
  23. My kik is TopleyBird. Which is JanisJopleyBird's unevolved form.
  24. That's a great idea. Let the new material be unburdened and speak for itself.
