  1. The Slender Man genuinely frightens me. Not because I believe that he's real, but because he plays to my paranoia. If I'm walking in the dark, even if I consciously know that nothing is there, I start to get panicky because subconsciously I think something is, but I don't know what, and the I start seeing things out of the corner of my eye and imagining they're other things and I start freaking out. Slender Man just sort of acts as a focusing lens for that paranoia.

I also have a fear of heights, but that's just a phobia, kind of different.

  2. I think that she probably would, because that's a really cool, subtle character aspect that, if it's intentional, I don't think the writer's will just drop, especially since it would be so easy to utilize. And, as has been stated, she did just get them. If I suddenly got a new ability that's useful for everyday actions that I've been performing for years, I would probably forget about it constantly just because I have a habit of performing those actions without it.

  3. Ayo, welcome to the forum. I too am way into the vidya gaems, a lot. I've been working on concept art and such for a game I intend to make, but haven't been able to do any actual programming or such due to having a terrible terrible computer for the time being. I do intend to major in game design at Shawnee State University, though. Anyway. I look forward to discussions with you, and again, welcome to the forums.

  4. Some of these are interesting. Here's my take:

Twi: Punk rock and grunge. She's antisocial and doesn't place a lot of value in friendship or companionship (at first.) I picture being like I was in 7th grade: locking herself in her room and reading while listening to Nirvana and Green Day (or Equestria's equivalent of Nirvana and Green Day)

Pinkster: High-energy EDM, probably Happy Hardcore. Pinkster would love partying to some Additive Subtractive. (Or, again, the Equestrian equivalent of Additive Subtractive.)

Dashie: Classic rock, some more modern rock and maybe even a little Hard Glitch. Stuff with energy, stuff that feels like it intends to start moving and never stop. (Addendum: Examples include Shocktrooper by GHO57, Final Countdown, anything by The Offspring, but especially You're Gonna Go Far Kid. Or Equestrian equivalent.)

Rarity: Definitely classical. You were right about that. She'd listen to the Les Miserables and Phantom of the Opera soundtracks (Equestrian equivalent), and dismiss most modern pop, rock, and electro as "noise."

Flutters: Stuff that sounds happy and peaceful.

Applejack: Clearly country. Probably some twangy folky bluegrass stuff too.

Octavia: Lots of strings, with the wind and percussion instruments taking a background role. I bet she would love Gusty Gardens Galaxy's theme.

Scratchie (Vinyl Scratch): She'd step on dubs all the time, it'd definitely be her favorite genre. However, as a DJ, she would expose herself to a variety of electro. Moombahton, Moombahcore, Hard Glitch, Dark Electro, Electro Rock, Electro Symphonic, Amenstep, Drum and Bass, Trap, Post-Life, etc. etc. etc.

Celestia: Classical, with a large brass emphasis. Powerful pieces.

Luna: My initial gut reaction was to say punk and grunge like Twi, but given her growth in Season 2 I think it'll be a bit more complicated than that. Before she became Nightmare Moon, she would most likely try to emulate Celestia's preferences, which would only frustrate her jealousy more. When she becomes Nightmare Moon, she'd get into metal, getting progressively heavier until culminating in grindcore (*vomits*). Once she is turned back at the beginning of Season 1, her music tastes would be all 90's alternative; Green Day, Nirvana, Foo Fighters, The Offspring, Alice in Chains. After S2E4, she would grow out of the angsty part of her life, but still like those musicians because the music is still good even if she doesn't relate to it. She would keep listening,  but diversify her tastes with some classic and 80's rock, as well as some 90's artists she overlooked: The Stones, Guns and Roses, Pearl Jam, Jane's Addiction. Eventually discover electro, get into some of the more energetic stuff like Hard Glitch and Brostep, artists like GHO57, The Living Tombstone, and Skrillex, before discovering some of the more nuanced artists and really complex genres, migrating from Skrillex to Modestep to Knife Party, filling in her repertoire with the like of Glaze and Silva Hound. (Again, all artists substituted with Equestrian equivalent.) (Damn, I projected a little hard on this one, lol.)

Neon Lights: Same as Scratchie, but with some 90's alternative thrown in there.

Lyra: Weird shit, man. Practically unknown electro artists don't even themselves know where the hell their ideas come from, who aren't untalented but are just so avante garde that their music is incredibly divisive and just never catches on. She'll be accuse of being a hipster, but she could care less how popular her artists are. She just loves the music.

Derpster: No idea, lol. Maybe Pink Floyd.

The Doctor: Electro of course. The complex kind.

Berry Punch: Metal, Hard Rock. Anything one can mosh to.

Cheerilee: Smooth Jazz. For reasons I don't fully understand.

That's all I've got. If I think of more I'll add them in an edit.

Oh, and welcome to the forum.

  5. Honestly... I'm not really interested in a D&D movie. For me, the draw of the game has always been my friends and I playing out our own stories. I care about the outcome because I have a vested interest in my character. The only way for me to care about the outcome of a D&D movie in the same way would be if they personified and developed the characters really well, such as in Lord of the Rings, but as a general rule companies don't tend to do that for licensed tie-ins. I'm not saying it never happens, just look at Friendship is Magic, but it rarely does, and it seems especially unlikely considering that as a rule fantasy nerds will watch and faun over crap. (Example: Willow still has fans. Lots of fans.)

Addendum: An MLP Magic: The Gathering card game would be the coolest thing since ice. I love the game, it's got the perfect element of strategy, and throwing ponies in would give me massive nerdgasms.

Additional Addendum: The last statement of my original reply, in retrospect, seems to imply that I don't like fantasy nerds or am not one myself. Neither is the case, I just like to think I have high standards.

  6. *Gallops off* I shall return, donning a top hat! WITH MY FEDORA ON TOP OF IT, BECAUSE FEDORAS ARE MASTER RACE HATS, AND LET IT NOT BE FORGOTTEN!

*Gallops back wearing top hat with fedora on top* There we go.

Now then..  Indeed the bass cannon is quite powerful.

But not so powerful... as... HUGS!

    *hugs everypony here*

  7. A hipster?!img-1470040-1-blink.png  PURGE. PURGE.

    Kidding.

Anyway, I might do this, except 1) That would require me to put down money for Abercrombie & Fitch apparel and 2) I could give homeless people better clothes for equal or less money

Addendum: Going off what you said in one of your replies, I definitely believe that how a company treats customers is everything, and in that regard, Abercrombie & Fitch are some of the worst, even before all this. Slapping their logo on mediocre clothing and charging more.

They're like the EA of the clothing industry.

  8. Ayo, I'm Nilkad_Naquada, I'm into all sorts of electro and rock, as well as some jazz. I'm currently trying to make a song using the Caustic app, I've been working on it for a while and I've almost got something that comes close to being halfway decent.

    It's hard.

But anyway. Nice ta meet ya'll.

  9. It's because of the inherent hypocrisy of a brony who refuses to give EqG even a chance. When it comes right down to it, premise has little to no effect on the quality of a piece. Writing and presentation are everything.  This is something that Friendship is Magic has already proven, and something most bronies are quick to make a point of, or, if they don't choose to vocalize this, it's at least assumed that they believe it because, were that not the case, why would they give the show a chance? Certainly there are those who liked the premise, but the majority were surprised that the show was good in spite of its premise (self included.) So, when I and people like me see bronies denouncing Equestria Girls based solely on the premise, there's some justified indignation. Some go so far as to say it will be great, I personally only say that we can't know until it comes out, though there is a good chance it will be at least decent given that these are still talented writers who have proven they know what they're doing.

When it comes down to it, saying EqG is crap because of the premise is not only irrational and unjustified, it may very well be blatantly hypocritical depending on what you thought of MLP's premise before giving it a chance.

  10. This is the best idea ever.

When it comes right down to it, the changes that have been added to the show are more often than not a good thing, I would even go so far as to say a necessary thing, because it's incredibly difficult to make a show interesting when every episode has to return status quo by the end. The only reason a change should be criticized is if it's handled poorly, or harms the series overall, and none of the changes thus far have fit either of those criteria. Frankly I'm getting sick of people whining about it, and I would love to see an episode addressing this.

Assuming the episode is up to standard, writing-wise, of course.

  11. Oh god this was taken seriously.

First off, I hate being assumed that I am unintelligent/stupid just because of my age. Being 13 does not automatically make me an idiot. If you have seen any of my posts, I am in fact an intelligent being who is capable of understanding things.

Secondly, this is all a joke. We are in the Forum Lounge. This board is full of jokes, do you think I would really be serious in the Forum Lounge, or even anywhere in Cloudsdale Colosseum?

Thirdly, I thought this would be a funny thread because this method actually works. I would think most Forum Lounge browsers would be able to have a laugh with me, but apparently not.

Finally. I am disappointed that you assumed I was stupid just because of my age. I thought this would never happen here... This has been a great community so far.

We weren't assuming you were stupid because of your age. As I said, in text communication, I assume a person is being serious unless given sufficient reason to think otherwise. I don't know you, haven't seen your other posts, and saw nothing in the post itself to denote sarcasm or that you were kidding. ToxicNinja had the same reasoning, and the fact that you're 13 merely supported the conclusion he had already drawn.

  12. Ah, that's unfortunate. I've dabbled in electro. Haven't managed to make anything decent yet. I use a smartphone app called Caustic. It's really convenient and user friendly, and lets you import different instrumental sets, which is nice. It's just hard to make rhythms that interact in any pleasing way.

  13. im into rock, techno, dupstep and classical though always open towards other music

Sweet. I like most rock, some jazz, and most forms of electro. The only genre of music I really dislike is country.
