I have yet to watch an episode with my parents. All they've seen are clips a few seconds long from Youtube. If I sat down in the living room with them and wanted to watch and episode they would sit through it though. They know what the show and fanbase are all about and have been very supportive.

Having always been somewhat bookish and possessing a mind for things both factual and fantastic, I find I relate most to Twilight. Being a bit of an outdoorsman as well and enjoying hard work, there's quite a bit of Applejack in me too. I'll be fair and say 50/50 with Applejack and Twilight.

I'll give it a shot sometime soon. I want to run through Doom 3 again. How does Doom make you feel?

My first was PegasisterTaco. She must have seen something in me she liked because the day after I joined (maybe the same day) she friended me. I felt so warm inside.

My favorite hero is Drizzt Do'Urden, and my favorite villain is Artemis Entreri, from whom I copped this user name. Although later on Entreri seems more like a normal guy who just got burned too many times and used decided to use his talents for selfish purposes - more to defend himself from further grief than anything - but he made it apparent on many occasions that he did have his own set of morals by which he faithfully adhered. As Drizzt observed, he easily could have become just like Entreri had he not escaped from Menzoberranzan. I've never been a contract killer or thief, but Entreri's semi-redemption is something with which I can personally identify in my own way.
I meant....
Something about him reminds me of Chrysalis.
Something about him reminds me of Jafar. If Jafar wanted a cat instead of a bird, he would have gotten Scar.

Though I'm indescribably glad I was able to go, I'm a little jelly of all this swag I'm seeing. I almost didn't make it this year due to some other obligations and car problems, which left me with far less money than I hoped to have for this trip (at least I finally paid of my school loan). I also didn't know until quite late that I would even be able to go. Ever since I returned I've been resolute to amass all the cash I can for next year.

No awkwardness here. I stroll about boldly wearing what I want and would tell people exactly what it is if they ask, though none have asked me about it yet. When the latest line of pony toys hit McDonald's I walked in there and asked to buy one of each pony. The cashier acknowledged and brought back one of every Transformer they had. Cool as they were, they wouldn't suffice; I needed my ponies. Once again I clearly stated that I wanted one of each pony. She said, "Oh, the girl's toys!" I replied, "Yes, the ponies." She and her manager tracked down one of each, sold them to me, and I went about my business. No shame was felt.
During moments like that I channel my inner Worf. Maybe you should get in touch with yours too.
Then she said, "No, you're not supposed to like ponies when you're not a child! These people need to grow up."
I found that to be a very, very ironic statement coming from someone who works at the freaking DISNEY Store. But it would have been unkind for me to say that, because obviously we were never going to come to any sort of agreement or compromise, but I didn't think of how ironic that was until about 10 minutes after that conversation. Ho boy, people sometimes...
One of my favorite quotes to paraphrase in those situations:
Critics who treat 'adult' as a term of approval, instead of as a merely descriptive term, cannot be adult themselves. To be concerned about being grown up, to admire the grown up because it is grown up, to blush at the suspicion of being childish; these things are the marks of childhood and adolescence. And in childhood and adolescence they are, in moderation, healthy symptoms. Young things ought to want to grow. But to carry on into middle life or even into early manhood this concern about being adult is a mark of really arrested development. When I was ten, I read fairy tales in secret and would have been ashamed if I had been found doing so. Now that I am fifty I read them openly. When I became a man I put away childish things, including the fear of childishness and the desire to be very grown up.

Phenom II X4 955 (was going to get a Bulldozer but everypony knows how they turned out)
Asus Sabertooth 990FX motherboard (more on that in a minute)
Radeon 6970
8GBs DDR3-1600 (G.Skill Ripjaws - great value, but I had to set the timings manually because they defaulted to 1066)
NZXT White Phantom case (wanted the black or red but white was on sale at Newegg at the time)
OS: Kubuntu 12.04 for just about everything, Windows 7 for all modern games and most of my Steam library; and Windows XP for some older stuff that doesn't work well with Win7, Wine, or any other emulation technique. Triple-booting is a bit of a pain, but I can live with it.
I have one problem with the motherboard: it has a Realtek 8111E network adapter. This is only a problem with Linux. The Linux kernel includes the r8169 driver and as far as I know it works well with all NICs that require it, but it doesn't have the r8168 driver that I need for this NIC. So I downloaded the latest driver from Realtek's site. The installation script doesn't work, so I extracted it myself and added it to my kernel modules list for it to load at boot. My network adapter is still using the wrong driver. I completely delete (or so I thought) the r8169 module and blacklist it. It's still using it. No matter how much I struggle I can't get it to use the proper module. Most of the time my network connection works normally, but at times it gets dreadfully slow or unresponsive. I happened to have a PCI 8169SC Realtek network card laying about so I installed it, resulting in kernel panics I haven't been able to solve. I also have a wireless Realtek adapter plugged into a different computer running XP that constantly drops the connection and needs a frequent driver reinstallation.
The moral of this story is don't buy a Realtek network card under any circumstances if you're using Linux, and even if all you use is Windows and Mac you should probably avoid them as well. Always check what kind of NIC a mobo has before you buy it, and if it's a Realtek 8111E, BUY A DIFFERENT BOARD. I can't tell you how many forums I've crawled through looking for a solution, and many others are afflicted with this problem too. Realtek has always sucked. We use a PXE at work for imaging computers and using many other useful utilities. We just bought a large quantity of laptops with Realtek network adapters that won't pixie boot properly and we've been struggling with reconfiguring the driver to make it work.
If you're thinking of buying a cheap, store brand network adapter of any sort, you should probably pass it up for a reputable brand like linksys or netgear. Most of those products, Newegg's Rosewill network adapters for example, are cheap, re-branded Realtek devices.
thats the downfall of playing on pcs
when you finally get something put together its already virtually outdated
oh ya, it'll definitely be easier. At least you know if you buy a xbox this year it'll still play games designed for it next year
Well, the computer can become a bit archaic, but a rig that can smoke a new console when it's launched will always vastly outperform it. I built my computer sometime near the end of 2006, and it could decimate the PS3. Obviously the same was true five years later. I couldn't play everything "maxed out" anymore, but what I got was still far superior to the console experience. I wanted more, so in November of last year I rebuilt it with modern hardware, but there was no need if I was content with my already superior visuals; I wanted more, but I didn't need it. I don't know where people get the idea that just because newer hardware exists than what they have that they must upgrade. Or that computers require constant upgrades to keep up with the consoles, whose hardware never changes.

None of mine a very interesting, but here are a few. Sorry for the blurriness of some.
John is taller in person than I thought he would be.
That's Braeburned unconscious in the autograph voucher line. Most of you probably know who he is.
My hero. <3
Her too, I just wish I had taken my time so the picture wouldn't have been so blurry. If anypony has a picture of her that isn't blurry, please send it my way.
^ Debonaire.
Excellent, all of these so far. This really makes me feel a little better by seeing how the whole experience looked like in person. I'm frustrated I didn't go, because it looks like you all had an amazing time!
First con I ever went to and I can't tell you how glad I am that I did. Start saving and making plans to attend next year. Start right now and don't let anything get in your way.

That computer recently failed, so I upgraded to an Optiplex refurbish. It's just a Pentium 4 HT with 2GB RAM, but it's an upgrade nonetheless.
That's still more than sufficient for common tasks. At work we just replaced our last room full of Dimension 2400s. They had 2.6GHz P4s with 1GB of memory. Somehow they ran Windows 7 respectably well. When somebody went through the room and stole half of the memory they became almost unusable, and we were able to convince the brass to give us enough money to put some modern machines in there.

I love all of his hardware review videos. My favorite based on a game/series is the four-part Castlevania series as Castlevania is one of my favorite franchises from the NES era. Part the first is my favorite:

You should have substituted Sweetie Belmont for Rarity.

Inkscape and Synfig are cross-platform. They work on Linux, Windows, and Mac. Both are pretty good from what I've seen. Worth a try.
edit: And they're free.

its appears that there are more people wanting help then there are people willing to give it
Or capable of giving it. I can't believe we have so many talented artists and such but nearly nobody who can sing respectably well enough to coach the rest of us.

My battlestation:
Behind my coffee mug, which is sitting betwixt my headphones, is the latest line of McDonald's pony figures. Only Applejack is clearly visible. My desktop is hard to see thanks to the flash, but I'm using KDE, which I never thought I would love as much as I do now.
Me jelly... Anyway here's mine (not nearly as impressive):
I Love the flux capacitor on the front of your case.
I like the way you have everything arranged, but that Dimension must be pushing about 8 years-old; at least the model is if not that particular unit. Might be time for an upgrade unless you've retained the case and put some monstrous hardware inside. If I can get an old AT system I would want to put some beastly hardware in it and take it to LAN parties; tell everybody that my turbo button is what makes it so fast.
I try to avoid any kinda clutter or desk chaos - I can't function properly unless everything is neat and clean.
That long art print above your two monitors, the one with Celestia and the Manes: where did you get it? I must have one.

We now have composers creating breathtaking scores for games and full orchestras performing the music in some titles, and that's great, but in my opinion the NES had and has the best selection of music overall despite and partially due to its limited capabilities.
Castlevania has always topped my list for best music on the NES.

Alone is the worst way to spend your weekend
True, but not when Steam is running the kind of sales they are now.

Sir, are you a ninja?
That's what I thought when OP busted out all of his knives. There's no way he can comfortably carry all of them simultaneously, and I can't think of any practical reason to attempt it. He must take two or three at a time.
I just try to be ready for any situation. Got a flashlight for dark places, weapons for self-defense, knives for opening junk, and flash drives with all manner of utilities and one with a Linux distro to fix a computer when somebody inevitably asks me to. There's also my phone (Galaxy S III, so it's a tad large). All of these things I can carry comfortably.
LOL with the knives in your pocket I'm sure you can rob me
I don't carry them for any particular reason. The throwing knives are so light and take up so little space in that sheath that I often forget they're in my pocket. The folding knife is primarily for opening things for other people. I never need a knife myself unless I leave home without it.

The three throwing knives (well-used at this point) are kept together in the sheath below them; next to the throwing knives is an ordinary Gerber folding pocket knife. Then there's my driver's license, debit card, and AAA card held together with a binder clip. My keys are self-explanatory, with a flashlight and flash drive case attached. The case holds two flash drives, one is 4 gigs, the other is 32. I carry another 4 gig (the surfboard), one 2 gig, and two 8 gig drives loose in my pocket.
Depending on where I'm going, I may also carry one of the following:

I was sitting a few rows forward and to the right of the fire when it broke out. Took a surprisingly long time before I was able to smell it.
This fire caused me to lose my best chance at obtaining autographs.
I got a little more than half-way through a massive line for Tara before a security lady told us she had to catch a plane. It took so long to get that far...
It's not the BronyCon staff's fault, per se. If anyone is at fault, it is the Meadowlands Exposition Center for not properly maintaining the bulbs. I would only highlight that way too many people were packed into too small a space, enhacning the hazard of a fire. Con traffic was an enormous problem.
But this was in New Jersey, so I'm not terribly surprised by the mess.
Being in Jersey, I had low expectations from the start. But with a name like Meadowlands Exposition Center I didn't expect it to look like a run-down warehouse. Do you know what any of the previous venues were like?
