    This reminds me of a quote from Thanks for all the Ponies.. Democracy had never really been considered as a political practice in Equestria. Celestia was basically a benevolent ruler, and she was certainly willing to be guided by other ponies, But at the end of the day, any elected official would have to be able to demonstrate the power to raise the sun and moon every day, and keep life on the planet from ending forever. This is a fairly effective barrier to any candidate, as nopony, regardless of political belief, is going to consider the “Let Everything on the Planet Die” Party.

    We haven't had an instance where Pinkie sings and it draws in all of Ponyville in a long time. That was an interesting connection thing ponies used to do.

    My theory on this is that it is handled through Celestia's School for Gifted Unicorns. She has it set up so every magical unicorn REALLY wants to attend. I would figure it is there where Celestia either through magic, or sheer training, whatever is necessary, works towards catching these problems early. Starlight Glimmer was one of the few magical unicorns who did NOT attend her school and as such she fell through the cracks.

    You could turn her into a pegasus, but she would still unleash a tornado that would take out towns.

    Thing is, as long as you have a car, you are probably within range of more people than any pony is with wings. It is more a societal problem than an access problem. For me it would be the internet. The ready access to information going back to heading to the library and looking for a book from the card catalog would be painful. (and yes I am old enough to remember having to research that way or from the encyclopedia (I am 47)). It would also be harsh having to spell-check things you wrote without an online dictionary helping you out, or a word processing program to move things around. I remember writing on a typewriter. It was way different than it is today.

    The CMC travel to Minos over the objections of Apple Jack and Rarity... Really there is a lot out there the CMC can do, it just is NOT in Ponyville.

    The ponies seem to be doing more separate ways stuff. RD is doing wonderbolts stuff. Rarity is all over the place with her clothing store chain. Twilight has duties in and outside of Equestria. Fluttershy is even doing nature stuff across Equestria occasionally.

    I think Hasbro is doing this on purpose to tank the ratings so they can (more easily) move the show off discovery family.

    Starlight here reminds me a lot of Mr Burns in the Simpsons episode "The old man and lisa." Mr Burns loses all his money and Lisa sets him back on track with recycling... But he makes this vast machine that sweeps the seafloor clean... and puts Lisa's name on it... I remember her saying, "Oh! You haven't changed at all! You're still evil. And when you're trying to be good, you're even more evil."

    The spell wasn't an accident, but the results were. Ironically if she understood the other ponies better then she probably would have "succeeded" with them mind controlled. It was only that she was so very bad at understanding the other ponies that it fell down around her ears.

    Look at the look in Pinkie's eyes as she is stuck there motionless for maybe the first time in her life.

    I vastly prefer such things to be far more resistible -- some kind of willpower battle at the very least, along with extra checks when forced to do things that one wouldn't normally do -- than just what we saw happening. That was pure nightmare fuel just that it exists.

    What annoys me most about this is simply that it is possible at all, and that none of the members of the mane 6 resisted the magic. If mind control is potentially so very strong in the MLP universe that a fairly powerful unicorn can learn compulsive spells that even the most powerful ponies are unable to resist, then it makes their world far darker than it has been portrayed.

    Probably NONE of the writers knew of Flurry Heart's existence when they were writing their episodes. They do write episodes concurrently and only a few episodes within a season are linked.

    Rainbow Dash knowing nothing about the history of the wonderbolts, and then her unique learning method in Testing 1-2-3.

    Gilda, Gabby, Greta, Gustav le Grand, Guto, Grover, Grampa Gruff. I wonder if ANY griff has a name starting with some other letter.

    Gabby really needs a real cutie mark for her efforts. I mean she has done EVERYTHING one really needs to do, and it just isn't fair that she isn't rewarded for it.

    With the amount of control the ponies were recently shown with their manes and tails, it actually might take her no time at all to shape her hair in that style.
