Well, Twilight Sparkle was Celestia's student, and Rainbow Dash is the only pony to ever do a Sonic Rainboom. I suppose Applejack could be rivaled, though.

 

They are awesome, no one's denying that. But I'm one of the biggest dash fanboys around and even I might not trust her with that much power. In the vague future yes, but not now. And (game of thrones fan here) the job of the leader doesn't necessarily go to the one who is best suited for it. Is Twi a better leader than a lot of the Canterlot aristocrats? Probably, but I can't imagine her going after power. I can imagine the canterlot people doing it though. Although in favor of the Twilight, RD, AJ solution they have historically had worse leaders (just look at hearths warming eve)

I think discords punishment was unfair and unbalanced, getting turned into a statue is a fate worse than death, his fate seems even more insane when compared to other punishments,(excluding Luna's banishment, whitch was also insane), when nightmare moon returned and was beaten by the elements of harmony, how was she punished, when snips and snails brought an ursa minor to ponyville how were they punished, and what happened to cyrisalis? They all were hardly punished, and discord was turned into a statue!

Chrysalis was sent blasting off again, and while I agree that snips and snails deserved a greater punishment, how would you stop discord? Guy's a god mode reality warper and it's pretty hard to keep track of those. Also discord sadistically drove several characters insane and generally terrorized everypony, I'm not in too big of a hurry to feel sorry for him

Easily the pinkie pie party, you never know quite what you're going to get, just that it will be amazing. Second might be a Pegasus race

Say Twilight snaps, Lesson Zero style but much worse. She won't listen to reason or anypony.

That makes a lot of sense and I know what you mean but how would you compare all of them? Pretty much you cant compare all the different grops and most of the people who voted for Derpy voted for Fluttershy.

 

I guess if you wanted an accurate picture of everyone's favorite character you'd have to do away with categories altogether- if you can do that sort of thing, I know on some forums there are limits to the number of options in a poll- and just throw all the characters into one poll and see who wins it. And Derpy may well be the most popular character, but the structure of the poll inherently prevents us from knowing that. I would agree it is kind of weird though to throw them into one poll though because you have ponies like doctor whooves and Octavia competing against others like Dash and Twi who have literally received about a million times more screen time/character development. Perhaps we're just better off leaving the poll as is.

Tribunal. The most intelligent unicorn, the most powerful pegasus, and the bravest earth pony in charge of Equestria. I imagine Twilight Sparkle, Rainbow Dash, and Applejack.

 

Even if these three were the smartest/strongest/bravest of their races (which they may well be) I can't really picture anypony lining up to give them power, even if I think they could be good choices.

Keep in mind that the top 3 vote receivers are background characters, and since they aren't in the same category at the mane 6-where the voting is more competitive- it may not accurately represent all of our favorite characters. For example 468 people may like Derpy more than Vinyl Scratch but I doubt 468 people like her more than Fluttershy.

But you have to see their adorable facial expressions to really enjoy them

Meh, she could be trying for heroic reasons, the problem is that there is nothing really in her character that would suggest such noble intentions. I could be biased though because I've never understood trixie's popularity.

The unicorns assume control of canterlot, obviously twilight has to figure out how to raise the sun and moon. If the unicorns (particularly blueblood) tried to exert power over equestria then the pegasi might secede/declare war. We might have to rehash hearths warming eve all over again. But it will feel more justified because blueblood isn't responsible enough to dress himself much less lead a country.

Applejack and Twilight, I dunno, for some reason I see them as bonding due to the fact that they're the moms of the group

Rarity and Fluttershy, established in Green isn't your color

And Pinkie Pie and Rainbow Dash, I see them as good friends due to the fact that they are kind of the least mature and in Gryphon the Brush Off it seemed like they bonded a lot

Dash isn't in the wonderbolts yet, we can debate all we want about why, but she isn't there yet

Fluttershy is the best with animals that we've seen, but we haven't seen anyone else with her talent

It's clear rarity is getting to be better known but she still has to impress high up people

Twilight is probably the best with magic or at least close, but again the only other present day person who specializes in magic is trixie and it should be fairly obvious that twilight dwarfs her ability

So they're all talented, but I wouldn't call them the best

They are either canterlot style snobs that she is rebelling against or hardcore daredevils who she is almost suicidally trying to impress, at least in my mind. I bet they look cool though

I can only really picture Applejack becoming one for now. As for what ifs and in the future,

 

Twilight would make a pretty good mom, she might have to respect that her child has different interests than her interests though and learn to accept a bit of chaos .

 

I think Dashie would do well eventually too, she would have to learn to put her child before herself but after that she'd be fantastic. Her teaching it to fly would be the cutest thing ever.

 

Applejack is effectively a mom right now, but I think she would have to adapt a bit to dealing with her child. That said, she'd be wonderful .

 

Pinkie might be the only mom in history that was more high-energy than her kid . After a little while I think she'd do fine.

 

Fluttershy might have trouble disciplining her child, but as of Putting Your Hoof Down and Keep Calm and Flutter On she seems to be overcoming those issues. I think Stare Master demonstrated that Flutttershy has excellent mother potential.

 

As for Rarity, her patience would be tested like never before but I think she would be great in the end.

Luna is destroying this poll about how I expected. I can't say I disagree though, she's amazing, definitely one of my favorite characters

I heard about this show while surfing tv tropes and it seemed to have a pretty high following so after a while I wanted to see what the fuss was all about so I went to YouTube and one of the first things I watched was the rainbow dash you're gonna go far kid pmv. That convinced me that the show could be pretty cool and she's been my favorite ever since

I'm not really on board with trixie coming back at all, and if they give her an element of harmony then I think it would be a horrible idea

Nah, she does need to perfect her tricks, grow up a bit and learn to work in a way that compliments the bolts

How many bits does each of the mane 6 have....

 

Well fluttershy didnt even have 20 bits when she wanted that cherry. She lives on the edge -- she doesnt have or need much money in general.

 

Pinkie Pie -- I guess could pull extra bits out of hammerspace if she really needed them, but I would say if you wanted her to make a pile of bits on the floor it wouldnt tally to much more than 50.

 

Twilight's expense account probably would allow her to write a writ for 250 bits right on the spot if she wanted to. I don't see her hording actual bits though and she probably carries about 30-50 at any time.

 

Rarity's money situation is the most strange -- she gets it and blows through it on silks etc. I would say if she REALLY NEEDED 100 bits for a shipment of rare materials she could have it by the end of the week -- but usually she doesnt have more than 30-50 onhand.

 

Applejack has more money kicking around and a ton more when cider season occurs. I'd say she has access to about 200 bits most of the time and closer to 1,000 post cider.

 

Rainbow Dash through winnings and her job as head weather pegasus for Ponyville along with how little she spends on things (never to the spa, etc) -- just saves all her bits. She has well over 1,000 bits stored and/or invested. By the time she is ready to retire she will give filthy rich a run for his money.

 

Although I can't see fluttershy being rich, I always kinda assumed that she could have bought that cherry, but she didn't think everypony would hopelessly overcharge her so she just brought enough do that she could make the salad

Whenever I take the quiz I get roughly a tie between applejack and rainbow dash with fluttershy as a distant third. Doesn't surprise me really

I honestly never understood the hype about derpy, she could disappear for half a season and I probably wouldn't even notice

Because she was freaking adorable in the episode that featured her? I know some of where you're coming from, I don't much care for background ponies because I watch largely for the character's unique personalities and how they interact, but Luna eclipsed was a terrific episode. They completely contradicted what I thought she would be like and made me just want to give her a hug. Perhaps she is overhyped by some, but of all the characters that aren't central to the show she is my favorite.
