Just started reading "All the President's Men" and will follow it up with "The Final Days". Both books are written by Woodward and Bernstein and are about Watergate. Next up after that will be Orwell's "1984". These books seem very appropriate given world events.

So let's say I win one of those huge Mega Millions jackpots and take home like 300 million. 1) pay off my car 2) buy a 3 bed, 2.5 (2 master) bath home, with central air, connected 2 car garage, and finished basement 3) build an INSANE computer 4) hire a personal trainer (again) to lose 60 pounds (.....sigh....again) 5) keep enough for myself to live comfortably off the average interest of a savings account, which I figure is 7 or 8 million. That leaves around 291 million, roughly 122 million of which I'd spread around to family and close friends and their children's education The remaining 169 million covers the average cost to manufacture 12 homeless shelters, which I'd have built in the Las Vegas and Anaheim areas, which are the two areas I've personally witnessed homelessness on a large scale. I'd have to convince the cities to invest in the staffing, ownership and maintenance, which becomes infinitely easier if I'm the one footing the bill for the building itself. Would be REEEEEEEEEAAALLLLYYY nice if the universe can do me a solid and make this happen.

How have I not posted in this thread? I used to be obscenely addicted to Final Fantasy XI. It's Square's first MMO. So here's my story... I used to be in the air force, specifically above ground nuclear weapon storage security. A buddy of mine got me into FFXI and I was hooked immediately, much to the detriment of my career. People HATED me. They though I had a serious drug problem. They had no idea I wasn't addicted to heroin, I was addicted to Final Fantasy XI. I would show up and sleep for just about all of the 12 hour shift. I mean I'd be completely dead to the world sitting in the passenger seat of a pickup truck, and basically whoever was posted with me was responsible for patrolling around with my corpse next to them. On my days off I'd play for 24-36 hours at a time. I was a zombie and worse yet I had a hyper explosive temper from being so tired and cranky, so I'd snap at people over the smallest of slights. Everything about that game was so god damn wonderful to me. The slow, relaxing gameplay, the community, and THE MUSIC!! I've honestly never seen a game with a better OST than FFXI. It adds so much to the immersion. The music paired with my addiction immersed me so deeply I could swear I could feel the chill of the dawn as the Sun came up over South Gustaberg.

My XIV thread lives! It LIIIIVES! Oh man, going through this is like a blast from the kinda recent past. I took a break from the game shortly after my last post, and didn't come back until about a month ago. Since then I've cleared Nidhogg Ex, Sophia Ex, Sephirot Ex, Zurvan Ex, A9S, and A10S, and I'm VERY close to having A11S down. The Next expansion, Stormblood, is coming on June 20th! We're getting the Red Mage and (probably) Samurai jobs. the Citgo across the street from ESPN has the best coffee I've ever had. It's New England brand coffee, and is always fresh because it goes so quickly. I get the French Vanilla with the French Vanilla creamer. Also it's 99 cents for ANY SIZE.
