@@Umbreon, Stella gritted her teeth as Axew ran head first into the Dragon Breath. Such an attack was super effective, and Axew had quite minimum special defense already. By the time it was possible to see Axew again, he was clearly unable to battle. "Axew, return." Stella said, returning Axew to it's pokeball. She then stiffened her back, and bowed slightly. "Thank you for the battle." With that, Stella left. She was clearly distraught. She might have won that if Magikarp hadn't been on her team... Oh, who was she kidding. She was awful at battling. The girl rushed towards the pokemon centre, not noticing any of the commotion happening around her. Once she had got there, she tried to remain as chipper as possible, and gave the nurse the pokeballs containing Magikarp and Axew. As she waited for the two to be healed, both Phanpy and Helioptile attempted to cheer her up. Not to much prevail, but the two must have certainly looked cute to onlookers. Once Stella had her pokemon back, she had planned to go to the next town. That had an ice gym, right? Phanpy could handle that, but she might need something else as well. Helioptile might work too, as water and ice types are fairly common. Stella had left both Phanpy and Helioptile out of their pokeballs. Helioptile perched upon her shoulder and Phanpy happily bounded around the path. However, Phanpy suddenly stopped as it passed the gym, and looked to the lake behind it. "Hmmm? Something wrong, Phanpy?" She asked the blue pokemon, running to catch up with it. Phanpy was looking at the lake, and what the Beartic was doing to it. Freezing it over? Why? As Stella caught up, she noticed it as well. "Huh...?" She questioned aloud. "What are they doing that for? That's probably bad... I should tell Clair..." Stella cut herself off at the last thought. "No... I can't face her again. Phanpy, you'll have to take this. Use Roll-out." Phanpy nodded, and curled into a ball. It began to spin, rolling over the ice, and gaining quite a bit of momentum. Whether that hit Beartic and did anything was another story, however.

@@Umbreon, Magikarp was slammed against the wall, and took quite some time to recover. Though it could still probably fight, Stella was not one to enjoy pushing her pokemon to their utmost limits. "Magikarp, return!" She said, returning it to it's pokeball. "Magikarp is no longer able to battle... Axew!" Stella knew the referee wouldn't call Magikarp unable to battle, so she had done it for them. Next, she summoned Axew. "Axew, use Dual Chop!" Axew nodded, sensing the tension in Stella's voice. Now was the time for a tough pokemon like yours truly. Axew began to charge at Dratini, about to hit it with a gold glowing fist.
  3. Dunsparce barreled through the Psybeam, though didn't manage to hit Cynder, as the hearts collided with it, however, it slowed down, and eventually came to a stop. "Alright, Ariados..." Roxie began. "There's no way Mud-slap's gonna knock you out, so just stay put." Ariados nodded, and remained where it was, which was just about the centre of the field. It was almost completely blinded now. There was no way it could fight long range. Burgh shrugged. "I don't believe relying on your opponent's ignorance to win is a proper technique. He said. "As an aspiring gym leader, I'm sure you are aware of a leader's responsibility? It's to gauge an opponent's power, not simply win! Though I'm sure some leaders, like the one in Virbank, believe otherwise. Once Burgh had finished talking, Lurele commanded her Torchic to use Peck. He pointed towards Vivillion, about to issue a command."Psybeam!" Vivillion began to fire a beam of colours at Torchic as it charged towards the bug type. As Mienfoo attempted to get atop Furfrou's head, Furfrou was ready. Though Cheren had not commanded it to use such a move, it used Headbutt on Mienfoo, who made a direct collision with Furfrou's head. "...Excellent work, Furfrou." Cheren said, indifferently. He was confused by the oppositions actions. - Pinwheel Forest - Pinwheel forest was dimly lit. Many fallen tree branches were hard to see, and could be easily tripped over. That was only in the deeper part of the forest, however, as a clear path also lead through the forest. In said path, a Slakoth slept. In the deeper part of the forest, a flock of Pidove rested in the branches of a few trees. A Yanma buzzed about. A group of Cherubi, Oddish, Petilil, Cottonee, Seedot, and Shroomish played in a small clearing. Near a pond's edge, a large Pumpkaboo played. An unseen battle could be heard in the distance.

@@Umbreon, Stella scratched the back of her head awkwardly. "Yea... I'd have to agree." She said, laughing nervously. "Trust me when I say I had no intent on using a Magikarp of all things against the most powerful gym leader in the region." Stella didn't seem to be paying much attention to the battle. Magikarp was done, at this point. Unless it evolved or something mid-fight, she had to rely solely on Axew. Joy. Magikarp had been paralyzed on top of the burn, and was also now being constricted by Dratini. As adorable as Dratini was, it was also proving quite a challenge for the karp. Magikarp flailed about for a bit longer as Dratini started using Wrap, but soon stopped. Though Magikarp was slowed by paralysis, the Swift Swim ability made up for this somewhat. "Magikarp! Use Splash, I suppose..." Magikarp used it's tail to splash some of the scalding water at Dratini's face, hoping to loosen Dratini's grip. It then tried to flail about more.
  5. The hearts did nothing on Dunsparce. It continued to barrel around, moving far too fast for any Dig to hit it. It's next target was Cynder, and it began to race towards her at top speed. Turtwig was woken up by all the commotion, and drowsily got up to see not only a Dunsparce tormenting a trainer and his two pokemon, but a Swablu pecking at another one. The Swablu looked to be the trainer's pokemon too. Turtwig chuckled to itself. As it got up, it was met by a barrage of stars. Though Turtwig didn't seem to take much damage from them, it's eyes suddenly became huge. Turtwig looked like it was about to cry. Every Mud Slap Croagunk fired made Ariados significantly more blind. "Alright, Ariados... Just string shot and hang from the ceiling!" Roxie said, obviously getting frustrated. "Then string shot on the entire field!" Ariados pulled itself up to ceiling, and began to coat the area in web. The pokeball once again absorbed Glameow into it. One... Two... Three. The pokeball stayed shut. Glameow has been captured
  6. Glameow struggled under Tiana's shoe for a few seconds, only to be hit by her purse, and pushed onto it's side yet again. This time, Glameow had some trouble getting back up. The attack it had taken from Furfrou, as well as the ones from Espeon had added up, then being hit onto it's side wasn't exactly pleasant either. Glameow shivered slightly, and gave up trying to get back up. "Use Work Up, Furfrou." Cheren commanded, and Furfrou started to look rather upset. It stayed in this expression until Mienfoo started attacking with Pound. "Now, Baby-doll Eyes." Furfrou's eyes got big once more. Due to the priority of the move, Pound's power was reset to neutral once again. Add Furfrou's ability on top of that, and the move didn't do much damage at all. Burgh gave no command to his pokemon, and it was hit by Ember. From the hit it had taken earlier and Ember adding up, Sewaddle fainted. "Very good work, Sewaddle! Burgh exclaimed, returning his pokemon to it's capsule. "You'll be next, Vivillion!" The next and last pokemon summoned floated atop pink wings. It spun around, as if it expecting a compliment based on how pretty it was. "Now I'm sure you're aware of Vivillion's signature move?" He asked Lurele. "I would imagine not, as you are a fighting type trainer. Vivillion signature move is known as 'Powder'. It makes fire moves fail, and damages the user of the fire move by about a quarter of their own hit points. Quite tricky, no?" Burgh put a hand up to his face at the last line. "Let's use Gust for now, though, Vivillion!" He commanded. Vivillion began to flap it's wings at Torchic, creating a strong breeze. Dunsparce was still agitated. It ran over the Oran berry in front of it, and hit Gible with a Roll-out. Thankfully it hit Gible and not Braixen, but still not very pleasant. Ariados was hit once again by Mud Slap. It rubbed its face frantically, trying to remove the mud. "You think that's gonna stop Ariados?" Roxie asked, pointing a finger defiantly at Cecil. "Well, good luck with that! Use String Shot, Ariados!" Ariados fired a sticky string at the direction it believed Rogue to still be. The trainer looked like they were about to say something, but stopped themselves before actually producing any audible sound. The trainer then pointed to the exit Locke had been trying to go through. Though he didn't answer Locke's question, he looked to be telling him to go that way. When Locke didn't start walking in said direction about two seconds after he was vaguely directed to, the trainer attempted to usher him to the exit.

@@Umbreon, Stella grumbled to herself. "Dodge it with Splash!" She commanded. Magikarp began to splash about, indeed avoiding the Thunder wave, but also fell into the water. Stella covered her face. Magikarp had just done the one thing she had told him not to do. Burn marks begun to show on it's scales, though the pokemon didn't seem to mind. The trainer gasped slightly, noticing the injured scales. She pulled out a pokeball. "I'm going to retire Magi-" She begun, only for Magikarp to avoid her pokeball's red beam. Swimming rather swiftly towards Dratini. Magikarp then begun flailing about, using Flail.
  8. Burgh put a hand up to his chin. That Scraggy was most certainly an amusing pokemon, but it hadn't stood a chance. Why was it so slow? Odd. Nonetheless, now was not the time to be wandering about such things. The opposition was now using a fire type, which Sewaddle was severely crippled by. "I suppose we'll wait for the next move to be made." Both Roxie and her Ariados had been confounded by the trainer's odd actions. After Cecil switched his pokemon, she tried desperately to suppress her giggles. However, due to the leader being distracted, Ariados was left wide open, and was easily knocked down by the Mud-slap. Roxie scoffed as Ariados tried desperately to remove the mud from it's face. "Ariados, use Shadow Sneak!" She yelled at it. Ariados seemed to shudder somewhat at Roxie's loud voice. It's shadow suddenly became larger, then rushed towards Croagunk. As Tempest peeled back the grass, a Dunsparce looked up at him. It looked angry the grass had been moved. So much so, it angrily cried out at Tempest, and curled up into a ball, about to use Roll-out on either of his two pokemon. Both of Mienfoo's moves paid off, as when Furfrou had stopped flinching, Meditate had already worked it's magic. "No matter." Cheren stated, calmly. "Use Baby-doll eyes." Furfrou's eyes suddenly got huge, and the pokemon looked absolutely adorable. Such a move would remove the effects of Meditate, should it work. The pokeball bounced off Glameow's head, and opened to put Glameow into it. One... Two... The pokeball opened up again, to release a fairly angry looking Glameow. It bounded up to Furfrou, it's paws glowing red, hitting Sasha with a Feint attack.

@@Umbreon, Magikarp was thrown a bit aback by the attack. This time, Stella didn't have time to call out a move to dodge the Dragon Breath. She scratched the back of her head. @@Umbreon, Though Magikarp was thrown back by the attack, it still flopped around happily, not looking to be hurt in the slightest. "Karp!" It said, loudly. Said noise seemed to express playfulness. Yes. Magikarp thought this was a game. Him and Dratini were simply playing together. "Alright... Use Tackle again!" Stella commanded, knowing Magikarp had no other attacks. Magikarp began to flop towards Dratini again.
  11. Sewaddle was sent flying back by the attack, but got up fairly easily. It didn't seem too hurt, but a move that had been boosted twice was not something to simply joke about. Sewaddle and Burgh let out a deep breath in unison. "Alright, Sewaddle. Use bug bite!" Burgh commanded to his pokemon, extending his left arm. Sewaddle sprang towards Scraggy, trying to dig it's fangs into the slow dark type. - Flocessy Ranch - Flocessy Ranch was quite a big property. In large paddocks, Ponyta, Miltank, and Mareep roamed. A sign read "These pokemon are wild, and free to be caught by the passing trainer!" on the first paddock. A large grass field also had a few wild pokemon in it. Including a group of Psyduck, and a sleeping Turtwig. A patch of grass rustled. "Most excellent." Cheren said, returning to the battle field. The referee looked positively exhausted from all the shouting he had been doing today. "I suppose I'll be using this one." Cheren summoned a white pokemon with thick fur. "Fur-frou!" It barked, clearly happy to be out and about. ((There is indeed an event on this bridge! This shall be fun.)) - Skyarrow Bridge - Skyarrow bridge was a beautiful bridge. @@Umbreon, Since Stella was now stuck using a basically useless pokemon, she best make the best use of it. Magikarp wasn't really bad persay. He had the spirit to battle, and certainly seemed to enjoy being under the command of her. But knowing only two moves - one of which was useless - would make defeating a Dratini near impossible. As Dratini fired the beam at Magikarp, Stella just blurted out a random attack. "Uh... Uh... Splash!" She said, panicking slightly. Magikarp began to bounce up and down in the spot, managing to dodge Dratini's attack. "Huh..." Stella thought aloud. "Uhm... Good... job?" She said to Magikarp, who happily flopped about. So, I can dodge Dratini moves with Splash, then use Tackle for damage? That might work... But I'm gonna have to rely on Axew for this battle. Jeez. I probably look like a fool right now. Stella thought. She was getting quite nervous. This wasn't good. And with so many trainers watching her, her pride couldn't really take it. "Magikarp, use tackle!" Magikarp began to slowly flop towards Dratini, then tried to flop about ontop of it.

@@Umbreon, As Dratini prepared to use Thunder Wave, Stella scoffed, and quickly pulled out a pokeball. "Axew, return." She said. Axew was recalled in a flash of red, then Stella pulled out another pokeball. Dratini had already used the attack, hitting nothing. Not like it mattered. "Alright Phan-" She begun, but was cut off by another pokeball opening. Magikarp flopped around lazily, looking somewhat excited. "Oh... You have got to be kidding me..." Stella said, covering her face with her hand. How embarrassing.
  14. "Get out of there, Rufflet!" Cheren shouted at his pokemon, almost scolding it. Rufflet slowly got up, only to be met by a psybeam. "Rufflet is unable to battle!" The referee shouted. "The challenger takes the win." Cheren shook his head. He had thought the battle had been going in his favor. But, oh well. His job was only to gage a challenger's strength. Returning his pokemon to it's pokeball, Cheren walked up to Tempest and presented him with a badge. "Congratulations. Good luck with the rest of your journey." He said. Cheren then noted the other trainer still waiting. Another one had appeared as well. Pointing at the one with the Mienfoo and Kadabra, he spoke. "You're next, correct? Well, come up, then!" @@Vaporeon, @@Antismurf9001, Burgh seemed a bit confused. "Ah... Interesting." He thought aloud. "Sewaddle, use String Shot!" Sewaddle was equally confused by Scraggy's antics. 15. ((On mobile, so no formatting again.)) As Braixen jumped out of one of the holes to Rufflet's back, he spun around just in time to see the hearts nearing him. "Alright. Fury Attack!" Rufflet began to furiously peck the hearts away. However, due to the number of said hearts, he was unable to destroy them all. One of the stray hearts hit him, allowing ember to knock the bird to the ground. "Alright, Ariados. Use string shot again!" Roxie commanded her pokemon, who shot a thick silk at the curled up Sandlash, attaching his spikes to the ground. "Good! Next, Night Shade!" @@Umbreon, She's not very nice, is she? Stella thought to herself. She was about to give an actual reason for why she had chosen to challenge Blackthorn first, but Clair had already summoned her first pokemon. It'd be pointless to do that now. Stella would have to choose a pokemon to use. She had decided she'd use Phanpy and Axew for this challenge. Whichever she started with would decide how easy this match was. "Alright. Axew!" She said, summoning her newest pokemon. It looked around, a bit surprised to be out of it's pokeball it didn't want to be in in the first place, and then looked at the Dratini, then back to Stella. This was a battle, wasn't it? Against two dragon types? What was the girl thinking? He only knew one dragon type move! Well, nonetheless, he wouldn't let her down. "Axew, use Scary Face." Axew began to glare at the opposing Dratini, mustering the scariest face it could.
  17. "Use String shot, Ariados!" Ariados began to create a strong web at Roxie's command. It attached this to the ceiling, and began to hang from it. Ariados could easily survey the battlefield. ((Gym battles take a long time, hence why I stated this kind of roleplay is slow paced. The great thing about Unova is that there's enough gyms to skip a few, plus the Nacrene gym gives the exact same badge as the Aspertia one.)) Rufflet was taken aback. It fluttered around, trying desperately to dodge incoming attacks. Cheren gave no command, as there wasn't much he could do. Rufflet would just have to wait it out. An occasional psybeam would hit the flying type, but it seemed more annoying than anything, and the attacks weren't doing much. There was an old couple in the ranch house. The two of them bowed at the trainer's arrival. "Well, hello Cillia!" The woman said. "Anything we can get you?" Burgh said nothing for a second, but suddenly spread his arms out. "Why, that's a wonderful dream! I hope to be able to teach you something, then!" Burgh exclaimed, stepping behind Lurele, where the battlefield was. He summoned a Seawaddle. @@Umbreon, The leader's cold demeanor left Stella speechless for a bit. Oh well. She best deal with it. She had to beat Clair at some point, regardless. "Yes, I am." She said, trying to stay as cool as possible. "And... Uhm... No badges so far." She couldn't help but smile awkwardly at the last sentence. Didn't most people challenge the dragon gym as their last gym in the region? Stella had a sneaking suspicion this wasn't going to go well.
  19. Cheren smirked slightly, but soon reverted back to his normal look. Obviously, his challenger had overlooked Rufflet's speed. It'd be easy enough for Rufflet to dodge every single attack Braxien made using Aerial Ace. "Use Aerial Ace again!" Rufflet nodded, making a sharp turn to the left of Braxien, and moving around her in a circle. Any attack aimed at Rufflet had no chance of hitting him, and all the other ones were easy enough to dodge. When Rufflet hit Braixen once again with Aerial Ace, the move wasn't as direct, therefore not dealing as much damage.
  20. Jigglypuff was hit by quite a few of the psybeams in it's race towards Braxien. However, it made it. About to use Disable, Jigglypuff was struck by another Psybeam, while in mid-air. She was thrown back. "Jigglypuff is unable to battle!" The referee shouted. Cheren pulled out a pokeball to return Jigglypuff to it's pokeball. The battle wasn't over yet, though. Jigglypuff had done significant damage to both of this trainer's pokemon, and Rufflet had an attack that couldn't be dodge. He had an idea as to what Rufflet could do about Braxien's attract, provided Psybeam hadn't replaced that, as well. "Rufflet!" Cheren said, summoning his other pokemon again. "Aerial Ace!" Rufflet began to fly at Braxien with blinding speeds, hitting it dead on. It then flew behind Braxien, spinning around to keep an eye on it. When Lurele called out in the gym, a voice could be heard from behind her. "Ah! Yes! Hello!" The voice said. The person behind her was most definitely Burgh. He seemed to have just suddenly appeared. Weird. Weird was also a word that could describe the trainer himself. His clothes were a bit flamboyant, and his hair was rather long. He was most certainly odd looking. "I suppose you have come for a battle? He asked. "How many badges do you have, might I ask? Most people who challenge me already have two, or sometimes three." Roxie spun Koffing's pokeball atop one of her fingers, before dropping it to catch in her hand. "Right, kid." Roxie said in a somewhat sarcastic tone, noting the new arrival. "All right!" She suddenly exclaimed. "I've been waiting forever to try out a pokemon for challengers with only one badge! Right! Let's go!" Roxie picked out another three pokeballs from the guitar case near her feet, and put away the two she had taken for her battle with Locke. "Ariados, let's go!" She said, summoning a red spider pokemon. "Oh. You'll need three pokemon, if you didn't already know."

@@Umbreon, Stella looked a bit nervous. That just had to be the gym leader. Though Stella had always been good at communicating with pokemon, and was a good communicator with people if the situation was dire, she didn't feel exactly comfortable confronting this leader. She was terrifying, after all. She looked to be unrealistically harsh to what looked to be her students. Stella would just come back. She wouldn't mind seeing the Dragon Den, after all... As Stella was just about to turn around, one of the pokeballs in her bag opened, and an orange pokemon appeared on the floor. It let out a loud "Karp karp!" and flopped around on the floor. Magikarp probably hadn't even made any noises since she had caught it, let alone escape from it's pokeball. It looked happy, but it was rather embarrassing to have such an awful pokemon in one's party. The girl quickly returned it, and sighed in frustration. Now this leader would totally think her to be terribly weak.
  22. "I wonder which move that's replacing..." Cheren thought aloud. "No matter. Disable it, Jigglypuff." Instead of disabling it right when the command was given, Jigglypuff began to run towards Braxien. Hopefully close range would mean it'd hit without a doubt.

@@Umbreon, Stella barely heard what the old woman said. She was far too intent on looking at the available ones. The ones that caught her eye were Surf and Rain Dance, two perfect moves for Helioptile. She was brought out of her imaginary world with a Helioptile decimating it's foes with Surf as Rain Dance made it healthier every turn when the woman mentioned payment. "Oh...!" The girl said, snapping back to reality. She didn't have any of these heart scales, and, now that she thought of it, was also near broke. "Well... I'll have to come back then. Thank you for your time." With this, Stella bowed to the woman, and left the house. The girl had decided the next thing she'd do would be challenge the gym. Right away. Even if her team wasn't that great, if she only needed two pokemon like she suspected, Phanpy and Axew could probably do just fine. When she found the gym, she slowly entered. It looked rather daunting.
  24. Cheren tilted his head in confusion. "Two evolutions in two consecutive battles?" He thought aloud. "I must certainly be giving it my all today! Though, don't think I'll just give up because you have a freshly evolved pokemon! Jigglypuff, Dazzling Gleam!" Cheren commanded. Despite the fact the move wasn't very effective, it should be just enough to finish this. Once Fennekin had completed the evolution, turning into Braxien, Jigglypuff released a blinding pink light. Roxie didn't seem to notice the new trainer in the gym. She was far too focused on the battle at hand. Koffing was hit dead-on by the Quick Attack. Due to how Sentret had orchestrated it's move, the attack did quite a bit of damage to Koffing. Well, not that much. However, Koffing had been weakened enough earlier to drop down somewhat, and breath deeply. "Aw. You tired, bud?" Roxie asked her pokemon, who nodded. "Well, that's okay! Use Self-destruct!" Koffing nodded again, and began to glow white, which soon dispersed into a shockwave. The aftermath left Koffing fainted, and was returned to it's pokeball. As Lurele mentioned Kyurem, the girl's face suddenly shifted between a shocked and nervous expression, to a cheesy smile. Said smile was only seen for a few seconds, however, as she slammed the large door as quickly as she possibly could after Lurele's final apology. Lucky for Lurele, the gym was almost right next door to the Seekers building. There didn't look to be any battles currently taking place.
  25. ((On mobile, so no fancy colors.)) Jigglypuff gave a triumphant grin. It should be able to defeat this annoying fire type with one more super effective Roll-out. As if on cue, that's exactly what Cheren commanded it to do. "Roll-out!" Jigglypuff curled up into a ball, and began to race at the sleeping Fennekin, easily hitting it.
