Being born into two worlds is never easy; just ask Chimere. Her father, Swift Mist, a trader, came into the grasslands of the Zebra Kingdoms. Having been found sick after being not only jumped by his guide and left to die out in the sun, Swift was taken and cared for by the mare Alaura in her village. As soon as Swift recovered, he set out to make a name for himself, hoping to bring Zerba's spices and other textiles back to his hometown of Canterlot. Yet it was also he who found himself falling in love with Alaura and this wild land he would come to call home for several years.
Soon after a yearly courtship, they mated, and Chimere was born from that love. Happiness is fleeting, given the pregnancy did take a toll on Alaura. After the birth, she was weak and had to spend many weeks recovering and staying close to the village. It was soon she came to have a fervor, and even the magic and herbs of the elders could not spare her soul from leaving that plain. Swift took the death of his mate hard and wanted to leave but was confined by Alaur's village to wait till Chimere was older and also so she would know her mother's culture and kind.
Once Chimere was 13, Swift explained his plans and let her make the choice for them to leave or stay. His daughter's happiness was his main love for her, and after a week of thought, she chose it was time to leave the Zerba Kingdoms and head into pony-kind. Swift chose their new home: Crystal Empire
After a few months of traveling, city hopping, and a few tales to tell, the due found themselves in the far north in the gleaming city of crystals. Chimere, who had never had such a range of ponies and other creatures, was in for a shock a bit and also well snow! Instantly, the mare fell in love with the city and the adventures she might have along! Swift Mist took to setting up a trading post and shop to bring in goods from all over.
Chimere herself set out to explore her new home, which, even in the wide range of types of ponies and other creatures, she did stand out for being half earth pony and half zebra with her markings and build. Even when bullies did try to drag her out, a sly smile and a good kick were ready to make them back up. It was in a jumping contest, and being called out for her small size, she would meet Kia, the 2nd princess of the Empire, and make a lifelong friend.
It was later that she took an interest in jewelry making and forging metals. She also found a talent in magic, in crafting spells into gems and jewelry and earning her cutie mark at the same time. Years later, in her 20s, she opened her shop in the Empire like her father, making a name for herself. Given now Chimere is happy, thriving, and wondering when a certain princess is going to ask her out...
Chimere is courageous, adventurous, and fiercely independent. She has a strong of loyalty to her friends and family. Chimere is also creative, resourceful, and determined, always eager to try new things and push her boundaries.
