Backstory:

Lemon grew up in Trottingham with her older, by five years, sister Raspberry. Raspberry loved her sister a lot and was always there to look after and care for her, which was helpful because their parents were often out working and did not have much time for their fillies. Despite this, Raspberry's perfectionist and boastful nature led Lemon to believe she was inferior to her older sister, while Raspberry often assured her otherwise Lemon was driven into her shell and became rather reserved, something that passed on to her daughter Battenberg. Lemon's intelligence was unaffected by her self esteem however and so she gained quite a talent for giving advice and was even able to help Raspberry a number of times.

Lemon discovered her talent while helping her sister make cakes for their parent's wedding anniversary. Raspberry was able to produce decent cakes but excelled more when making Jam, as this was her special talent. Lemon found that the cake sponges she created were delicious, Raspberry agreed and insisted that these cakes be used for their parents. Together the two sisters produced four delicious cakes for their parents: a victoria spongecake, their mother's favourite, a battenberg cake, their father's favourite, and two drizzle cakes, flavoured lemon and raspberry to remind their parents how much they were loved and appreciated by their daughters. As soon as their mother took a bite of the lemon drizzle cake, Lemon's finest piece, her cutie mark appeared. This whole event was incredibly significant to the sisters, as a bond between each other and their parents, Lemon even went on to name her two daughters after the two non-drizzle cakes they had produced.

The sisters decided that teamwork had worked very well and baked together for a long time, eventually the pair took a holiday/business trip to Manehattan where they were able to sell their craft to a very big, very grand wedding for a couple of rich celebrity ponies. They produced all the cakes/jam for this wedding including the wedding cake and were paid handsomly for it. Lemon found that Manehattan had a taste for cake, quite the sweet tooth, and made plans to move to the city. A couple of years later she realised her plans and made the move, Raspberry decided to stay in Trottingham to look after their now widowed mother and said a tearful farewell to her sister.

Living in Manehattan Lemon continued to sell herself as a caterer to parties and weddings across the city. It was in the city that she met her husband Felix Carter, as an explorer he was just popping back to his hometown to visit his mother on his way to the Crystal Empire. He passed the large garden party that Lemon had catered for and let his curiosity get the better of him, wandering in uninvited. He looked around for a bit, avoiding most ponies as he was not a huge fan of the snooty upper class though they threw great parties. Just as he was about to leave he saw a small mare stood by a huge three tiered cake, she seemed to be staring at it and ignoring the party going on around her. As she appeared to be the only normal pony about he went over to see if she was ok. Lemon was only at the party to see the reactions of ponies trying her cakes, though currently she had noticed that the table her masterpiece cake sat upon was not straight and was nervously watching the cake, horn poised ready to push it up if it began to topple. Felix startled her when he appeared behind her suddenly and she jumped, almost knocking the cake down herself. He helped her up and began talking to her about the cake and why she wasn't dancing, after listening to her he reached into his bag and took out a small gem stone, placing it under the short leg of the table and solving the issue. The gem stone was rather precious to him and so he was forced to stay at the party, as both he and Lemon did not particularly want to associate with the snobs, they spent the evening together and quickly grew fond of each other.

Once the party finished she decided to accompany him on his journey to the Crystal Empire as she was curious to see what kind of cakes they liked up in the north of Equestria, on the long walk the two got to know each other well and began to fall in love.

Felix was nice enough to travel back to Manehattan with Lemon and stayed the night in her apartment as they arrived late and he did not want to wake his elderly mother. In the morning Lemon presented with some delicious lemon pancakes and cupcakes, so good he immediately leaped up and kissed her. Felix decided to keep in touch with her so he could taste her baking, and possibly her lips, again in the future. The two wrote many letters to each other and had dates every time Felix was in Manehattan and eventually the pair were married.

After getting married Lemon suggested that she and Felix move back to Trottingham to start a family, as there she had a large house and a sister who had experience taking care of a foal already, to help take care of her babies. After moving to Lemon’s hometown, the couple produced two fillies, first Battenberg and then a year and a half later Victoria, named for the cakes Lemon had made her parents with her sister, and brought them up together. Though Felix stayed put for three of four years to help with the fillies at a young age his adventurous spirit led him to continue his exploring and he was rarely home to look after the two girls as they got older. Lemon never liked the fact that she spent so long apart from her husband but understood his personality and need to travel the world and did not want to stop him, she was able to give her daughters and her three nieces a decent upbringing, with help from Raspberry, even without Felix present for most of the time. Unfortunately this did lead to her giving more attention to her eldest daughter Battenberg which drove Victoria to think she was not appreciated or as good as her sister, similar to how Lemon felt about Raspberry, and she became a snob who did her best to avoid any kind of affection, she still retained a soft spot for children and animals however and loved her sister and parents deep down though she would not admit it.

When the girls were old enough to take care of themselves, Lemon moved her family back to Manehattan once again, buying a decent house in the suburbs with the money left to her in her mother’s will. They have lived here ever since.

Lemon found she had a talent for knitting as well as baking and created a scarf for herself, Battenberg, Victoria and Felix. Only She and Battenberg wore their scarves at first however, Felix was worried about losing it while adventuring so never took it with him and Victoria refused to accept sentiment from her mother, eventually convincing herself that Lemon hadn't even made her a scarf in the first place, Victoria's red scarf is now worn proudly by the mare.

After Battenberg opened her Manehattan bakery she made her mother the manager of her business, knowing that Lemon would be much better at business related things than herself. When she opened her Fillydelphia bakery she made Lemon the chain manager and gave her an assistant in Strawberry Sprinkles, the mother of Battenberg's apprentice Cupcake Sprinkles.

Lemon currently lives in a house in the suburbs of Manehattan with her two daughters. She gets regular visits from her niece Red Velvet and her family, relatively frequent visits from her husband Felix and occasional visits from her sister Raspberry who now lives and works in Cloudsdale.
