Madeleine Dawn

Madeleine Dawn was born as Madeleine 'Chess' Dawn from her parents. Yeonmi Dawn and Jackson Lake. She was raised in Manehattan alongside her dear younger brothers, Zack Beats and Quinn Fell. Ever since she attended kindergarten at an age of 3, the air wasn't too friendly with her throat and made it hard for her to breathe normally unlike her two brothers and her parents. The young filly was immediately taken to hospital to finally be diagnosed with Asthma. This may sound not so bad at first but the doctors continued to explain that she had severe persistent asthma and her condition wasn't curable. From this, she had to wear an allergy mask to stop her from having frequent asthma attacks and to try breathing like normal. Her mother was deadly worried for Madeleine and did everything in her power to make sure she didn't have another asthma attack and made her give up anything that was physical. For example: Dodgeball. 

Eventually Madeleine (aged 11) attended a private boarding school outside of Manehattan because her parents thought she wouldn't survive a public school within the polluted city. To sum it up, she hated it. The students there would either make fun of her mask or plain out ignore her completely. However, there was one pony in which Madeleine depended on the most. A young mare called Aya Heart. She also was receiving the same treatment from the students but for a different reason. From the waist down, she couldn't move and relied on her wheelchair. The unicorn felt bad for her and became her friend. From there her schooling life was much easier because she had someone she could trust. Neither of them had their cutie marks but they didn't care. Even when the students showed off their new cutie marks so cockily, the two females were too busy having fun with each other. They were both the same age, same height, same race and same sense of humour. This made them the Ultimate Twins of their boarding school. They also started to learn how to control their magic together but only when they got the time. Several years has past and graduation week was around the corner for them. Sadly Aya Heart received her cutie mark before Madeleine in Poetry. Madeleine wasn't too excited about this, knowing she'll be the only mare without her cutie mark. Aya kept comforting her every day until the day of their graduation came around. What she said next changed her life completely. Before they went onto stage, Aya whispered to her.

"You may not have a cutie mark Maddy, but that doesn't mean you're not special. You have a bright star inside of you, waiting to come out to the public. When that time comes, you'll see the star in full potential."

Hearing those words made her gasp, realising what she meant. She couldn't help but to be grateful for Aya and thanked her for her wise words, telling her that she's truly the shining hope within her despair. From there, a bright light came from her blank flank. Aya gasped, pointing at Madeleine's flank. She turned to notice her cutie mark appearing. A golden diamond overlapping a blue diamond. At that time, she didn't understand what it means and how she got it but she thought it was due to Aya's influence with the star and calling her a shining hope. Continuing on, Madeleine graduated from the private Boarding School along side Aya Heart. They both had to go back to their locations sadly after a week of partying. Aya had to return to Fillydelphia and Madeleine had to return back to the polluted area of Manehattan. So they decided to always keep in touch by writing each other letters or by phone. 

When Madeleine returned home at an age of 17, her parents told her that they'll be moving to Ponyville because they were fed up with how the Manehatten air was treating them and they didn't want Quinn nor Zack getting Asthma. So the family left their hometown, glancing back at Manehattan's glory one more time before looking forwards to the future. Madeleine didn't know how to feel about leaving her precious home... that was filled with happy memories, pain, suffering and dust. On one hoof, she was glad she could be away from the rotten atmosphere and try to recover her lungs within a different environment. But on the other hoof, she's leaving her memories behind and was further away from her best friend. On that train, she almost had an asthma attack but Zack successfully her calmed down through some singing. 

A few hours away, the train arrived at the peaceful town called 'Ponyville'. The family got off the train and quickly got themselves acquainted with the town. It had everything they need and they weren't surrounded by polluted 90% of the time. Madeleine wasn't so used to the atmosphere and had asthma attacks extremely easily. This worried the family extremely but the young unicorn got used to the atmosphere and had less asthma attacks as days go by. To this day, Madeleine is a professional counsellor who helps those who are struggling with problems or life in general upon children and young adults. Thanks to Aya's influence, she decided to commission a necklace of her own cutie mark and the words "You have a bright star inside of you." imprinted on the back of it. 

Madeleine is very kind hearted, easy going mare who has a tendency to act as an adult towards children whenever they run up to her and cry. For her age, it's quite reasonable to act as an adult but she had to help her best friend during her schooling years and that taught her what it meant to help others. When she meets someone new, she will be a little suspicious of them because of how they will react with her condition towards the point of being cold/harsh. But if you manage to become her friend, then she'll be less harsh and let her true personality shine out. She'll be very optimistic, out-going and sometimes act very silly.
