Rose Beast

She was born into a rich family with a retired father and a mother working on fixing ponies’ machinery, but they didn’t live in Canterlot or any place that you would expect them to live. They lived in a small quiet town. With her mom being an earth pony and her dad being a hybrid, they didn’t know how she was a pegasus, but they didn’t care. Her father would tell her about his adventures of his work before he retired after a job that let him settle down without a care. When she was little, she would play with her mom’s eye patch and walked around pretending to be a pirate, then she would be chased by her father and her own shadow, while he pretended to be a guard or a bounty hunter. 

On the day of her 10th birthday, she woke up in the middle of the night to see her shadow on the wall, she groaned that that she would have to close the blinds and wanted them to shut on their own. Then her shadow deformed into a hoof, reached over her and closed the blinds. She bolted up in bed, screaming for her parents to come quickly. Her mom burst into the room, ready to attack anyone else and her dad with his scythe. She told them what happened, then they sighed with relief and her mom patted her dad’s shoulder and headed to bed. Her father sat down on the bed and explained that it seems that she inherited some of her dad’s abilities, like he did with his father’s.

For 5 and a half years, her dad showed her the ropes of his job and what it comes with and how to use her ability, while her mom taught her self defense and how to get respect, but also not to seem mean. She decided to take her father’s last name as her own and help with it. As she was walking out the door, she noticed that she got her cutie mark, it was a blank gold coin with a distinct shadow version of it behind it. She smiled and flew of to begin where her father left off.
