Velvet

Velvet was born into a rich family who lived in Manehattan and so growing up she had a very easy lifestyle. She was educated at home by her mother and quickly grew to love the fancy and rich lifestyle, attending many posh parties first with her mother and father and later alone. It was at one of these parties that she met her husband Satin Pouch who bought her many drinks and seemed to be in love with her. Velvet grew very affectionate of the stallion and used her special talent of sewing to create all kinds of wonderful garments for him. However Satin did not love her enough to stay with her when she fell pregnant with their son Royal Velvet, she woke up the morning after she told him to find him gone, without a trace. This affected her deeply as she loved him so much and felt betrayed, she went into a long period of depression and became much more introverted and reserved. Despite this she tried her best to raise her son and turned him into the gentlepony he is today.

Velvet is a very reserved pony, she likes to keep herself to herself, this lack of trust stems from her husband leaving her as soon as she told him she was pregnant. She is very upper class and likes to be clean and civilised, she's rather posh. These factors can make her appear uncaring and snooty but she really has a heart of gold and is a very kind mare. 

Velvet is a purple unicorn mare with a mid-length blonde mane and a blonde tail, she has blue eyes.

 Her cutie mark is a spool of light blue threat with a threaded needle and represents her tailoring talents.
