Pinkie is an average sized earth pony mare, with a pale raspberry pink coat, light blue eyes, and a darker pink mane and tail - the curliest you've ever seen!

Pinkie Pie is one of a kind, without a doubt. She is easily Ponyville's - maybe even all of Equestria's - most energetic and cheerful pony. It takes a great deal to bring her down, and she's always ready to make a new friend or help out a current one. If you're new in town, she's likely the first friend you'll make, if not the first pony you'll meet... whether you want it or not.

 

Pinkie considers herself Ponyville's number one party planner, and everypony will agree. Her parties are always top-rate, thanks to her seemingly limitless energy and her absolute love for having fun and making ponies smile!

 

She's also an incredibly trustworthy pony - after all, she did invent the Pinkie Promise. If she makes a promise, you can rest assured she will indeed keep it. Even if it means keeping her motor mouth shut. And you'll be hard-pressed to find a more loyal friend, since Pinkie never forgets who hers are, and she'll do literally anything in her power for them.

 

But, like everypony, Pinkie has her flaws. She doesn't seem to possess an 'off' switch, and tends to overload her friendliness on unsuspecting ponies. She's also not a huge fan of broken promises. Break a Pinkie Promise, and you will never live it down.
She has very, very rare periods of insecurity and self-doubt, often brought on by feeling like she's being left out or forgotten. They pass rather quickly though - after all, you can't keep a good pony down.

 

She's also quite mischievous and a bit of a prankster, especially when alongside her partner in crime and one of her best friends, Rainbow Dash. Her jokes are all harmless of course, but if she goes too far, she'll do whatever she can to make amends.

Likes: Believe it or not, there are indeed things Pinkie doesn't like. Anything bad happening to her friends is a big one, as well as feeling left out and ponies laughing at her instead of with her. These are things that get to her enough to even make this pony deflate. Literally. She also does not tolerate broken Pinkie Promises, not for one moment. She isn't too fond of vegetables either - I mean, has anypony ever seen her with any?

Pinkie Pie was born and raised in south-west Equestria, on the Pie Family Rock Farm with her parents and three sisters. Her daily routine was filled with the rigorous replacing of rocks from one field to the next, from morning till night. It was tough work, but somepony had to do it. Though, her life was not as fun, and her hair was not as curly.

 

That was, until one faithful day. It was just another work day, nothing out of the ordinary, when a sudden explosion rang out from the sky, which sent the constant dark overcast scattering to show the most magnificent flash of colours she had ever seen in her life. A real life Sonic Rainboom! The blast of wind changed her hair, and the sight of the rainbow changed her outlook. There was definitely more to life than just pushing rocks around - she needed more fun! And what was more fun than a party? She took a bold risk and changed one of the farm's silos into a party room, with balloons, streamers and cake for her family. To her relief, they welcomed the surprise party happily, and the ensuing festivities earned Pinkie her cutie mark.

 

Ever since that day, Pinkie dedicated her life to making the ponies around her smile and laugh, for no other reason than because she wanted to. In fact, she held the largest party Ponyville had ever seen, which made the happy accident of inspiring a visiting colt from Manehattan to become the travelling party pony, Cheese Sandwich.
When she got older, her second talent and passion, baking, landed her a job as assistant baker and caterer at Ponyville's Sugarcube Corner, where she quickly became beloved by the owners and community alike - so much so that she was given permanent residence at the bakery! And she still repays her employers' kindness to this day with her hard work and great attitude.

 

The next chapter of Pinkie's life began on the day of the One Thousandth Summer Sun Celebration, when a new pony came to Ponyville - a unicorn from Canterlot named Twilight Sparkle. Pinkie being Pinkie, her first instinct was to welcome the newcomer with a 'Welcome to Ponyville' party at the Ponyville Library. How she found out Twilight was staying there was anypony's guess.
When Nightmare Moon returned, she was one of the six ponies grouped together with fellow locals Applejack, Rarity, Rainbow Dash and Fluttershy, to join Twilight Sparkle's search for the Elements of Harmony. Her ability to laugh in the face of danger - literally - made it clear that she represented the Element of Laughter.

 

Since that night, Pinkie remained a part of the Elements of Harmony - Ponyville, and later all of Equestria's defenders from dangers of any kind. In fact, she singlehoofedly stopped the Ponyville Parasprite Plague, and assisted in creating friendly relations between Equestria and Yakyakistan.

 

Now a member of Princess Twilight Sparkle's court, the Element of Laughter is still doing what she always does - having a good time, stuffing her face with sugar, and helping with the odd big or small problem across Equestria.

Pinkie is not exactly an average pony - she can bend the laws of physics to the point where Discord himself would raise an eyebrow. She can pop up anywhere she wants, anytime she wants, in any manner she wants. How does she do it? Because she's Pinkie Pie.

 

Another interesting anomaly about her is her Pinkie Sense - every so often, her body will undergo small, brief spasms, which according to her, mean specific things according to the kinds of twitches she gets - a flick of her tail meaning something is about to fall, an itchy back meaning it's her lucky day, an aching shoulder meaning there's an alligator in the bathtub, etc.
There are also combinations which make up all other sorts of predictions, such as an ear flop, eye flutter and knee twitch meaning to watch out for open doors. Not even Twilight Sparkle herself can figure out how Pinkie Sense works.

 

She has a pet toothless alligator named Gummy, with whom she has a mutual close bond. They just... get each other, you know?

 

She's also an incredibly skilled singer, musician, and figure skater.
