Sundae Shake

Yoshi89
  • No Not Cast Early Adolescent

Sundae Shake is a heavyset filly with a light sapphire coat and dark blue freckles on her face along with brown eyes. She has a medium-brown mane with bangs, a widow's peak and two cream streaks. She also has a long, unkempt tail whose two colors match her mane. She wears no clothing aside from a pink bow on top of her mane.

    female Earth Pony None.

Sundae is a kind and caring filly who will always have a good friend's back. She is easy to get along with and sometimes goes out of her way to meet new ponies. Despite not having her cutie mark, she remains optimistic in life and can't wait to discover her true calling in life. She has a tendency to procrastinate, leading her to often rush things when they need to get done.

Fearless and dependable, Sundae can be looked up to in times of distress and considers herself a born leader. Although she will only do so as a last resort, she plays peacemaker when two or more of her friends argue. Sundae has lots of respect for her twin brother, Fudge Cookie. They will always try to tackle problems together, even if they only involve one or the other.

Likes: She hates ponies who are popular for wrong reasons such as being rich to attract friends. She also can't stand when other ponies show off or take pride in bullying, especially to her brother Fudge Cookie. Her least favorite school subject is gym class.

Sundae Shake was born in an outer borough of Manehattan to parents Refund Check, an accountant and Ruby Shears, a beauty salon owner. She was the first-born in a set of twins, along with her brother Fudge Cookie, and the larger of the two at birth. Sundae has always loved to eat and has been chubby ever since she could first taste solids. As a toddler, Sundae used to sneak food any way she could, most often by sneaking cookies from her preschool's cookie jar. Then on one of her friends' birthday parties, Sundae ate the birthday filly's entire ice cream cake all by herself and got really sick for days afterward. She looks back on this incident to teach her from overeating again.

In a direct contrast with Fudge, Sundae gets along much better with her father Refund Check than her mother Ruby Shears. Since he never cajoles her into finding her talent, she enjoys bonding with him for father-daughter moments whenever they can. However, she still enjoys Ruby's company as well and loves getting her mane styled whenever she asks for it. Sundae and Ruby will both side with Fudge whenever Refund lectures him about getting his cutie mark. When she first heard about how cutie marks worked, Sundae thought she had a talent of being a hairdresser just like Ruby until the time where she cut the manes off her dolls, thinking they will grow back.

Unlike other fillies her age, not having a cutie mark yet doesn't get to Sundae at all. Sundae is optimistic about getting her cutie mark soon and can't wait to discover what her talent will be. At her point in age, she adores discovering her potential talents through trial and error. More often than not, she has to encourage Fudge into not giving up since he is more nervous than her about finding their talents. About half of Sundae's friends have their talents but they don't let it divide them, especially if bullies enter the picture. The laid-back atmosphere of her school has also made a difference in Sundae's attitude of searching for her talent, providing her with limitless opportunities to find out for herself.

Hello Yoshi :)

It isn’t often that I see foal characters being submitted, and this one is very cute, but she will need some adjustments before she can be approved.

  • In the personality section, you say that it “doesn’t take much to scare Sundae”. Given the other things you say about her, I think what you meant to say here is that it does take a lot to scare her.

  • You mention other ponies teasing Sundae about her weight. In the show, we have yet to see anypony tease anypony else about their weight, so I am not inclined to assume that it would happen. Just because our society judges people based on weight doesn’t necessarily mean that Equestria is the same way.

  • The idea of an adult forcing a foal to eat to the point of discomfort as a punishment seems odd and unsettling. Perhaps a better way for her to learn this lesson would be for her to overeat to the point of feeling sick herself.

  • Being a part of the Manehattan CMC would inevitably mean that your character has met Babs Seed, which would count as a prior cast character interaction and thus not be allowed. Your character can have the idea to form a similar club (with a different name obviously) or can similarly be trying to get her cutie mark with her brother, but they cannot be part of the CMC.

  • You mention “bad neighborhoods” in Manehattan, but to be honest I can’t imagine there are any bad neighborhoods in a place populated by candy-colored equines. Perhaps just suggest that some areas are harder to navigate than others without making parts of Manehattan sound unsafe.

Hello Yoshi :)

It isn’t often that I see foal characters being submitted, and this one is very cute, but she will need some adjustments before she can be approved.

Thanks. ^_^ Let me go through these suggestions one by one.

In the personality section, you say that it “doesn’t take much to scare Sundae”. Given the other things you say about her, I think what you meant to say here is that it does take a lot to scare her.

I think I'll remove the "worst fear" and keep her personality at fearless since she loves scary things.

I figured as much. That will be removed.

The idea of an adult forcing a foal to eat to the point of discomfort as a punishment seems odd and unsettling. Perhaps a better way for her to learn this lesson would be for her to overeat to the point of feeling sick herself.

That will be reworked as well. That's definitely not right for punishment but as a lesson, that works a lot better.

I had the same problem on Fudge's bio. That will be replaced most likely with another paragraph about her early adolsecence so far and her friends at school.

You mention “bad neighborhoods” in Manehattan, but to be honest I can’t imagine there are any bad neighborhoods in a place populated by candy-colored equines. Perhaps just suggest that some areas are harder to navigate than others without making parts of Manehattan sound unsafe.

Since I plan on removing the Manehattan part of Sundae's bio, this part will be non-sequential anyway.

I'll apply the changes within a few hours. Thanks!

Sundae's looking much better, but I think you may have misunderstood one of my requests.

Saying that it "doesn't take much to scare Sundae" would mean that she is easily frightened, which would be the opposite of what you want to convey for her.

I guess words fail me sometimes. Heh. Let me reword that again.

Thank you. Now that that's taken care of, I'll move Sundae to second approval :)
