Été Lune (Summer For Short)
Age: 17
Gender: Female
Species: Non-Pony
Cutie Mark: A celtic knot in the shape of a crescent moon with a star in the center. This represents Summer's love for the night sky. She studies the stars and loves anything to do with space...she hopes to one day go higher then any other creature in Equestria.
Personality: She's rather up tight but around people she knows she calms down. This is caused by some childhood memories she has trouble forgetting. She's neither a pony nor a griffin so she's always felt stuck between the two but always got teased by the other kids for it.
When she gets to know someone however she becomes much more likeable. She loves talking about space and science and loves to learn more about each of the topics. However if there is one thing she loves most in this world, that's being able to fly.
Backstory: Été (Summer as she goes by now) was born in Couleur Terrai, a small town in in France ((Or prance...I kinda hate all these pony puns...)). She grew up in a small town speaking only French but took an interest in Equestria when a young mare and her father came to her small town on vacation. The town itself was rather...boring, but the surrounding landscape was like none other. On one side of the town you had mountains...on another it was a massive lake...on the other hills spanned on for miles with fields of flowers all sorts of colors.

It just so happened Summer chose to stay home from school to "help" run her fathers shop...which consisted of making sure all the food was bug free...she liked to wear paper hats and run around with a stick. However...this day was a little different. It just so happened that Summer decided to wander around near the herbs and spices section of her fathers organic food store when she walked straight into a mare. The two fell over but instantly became best friends...sadly Summer didn't know English, and this mare didn't know French, but that didn't stop the two from playing and hugging and chasing each other around the store. The mare's name was Rhythm Runner though due to the fact that Summer couldn't speak english...Summer decided to call this mare "Music".
The mare's father got to know Summer's parents and they became close friends, Summer and Rhythm were closer. They did everything together. Rhythm taught Summer English, summer taught Rhythm french, they were the best of friends...Rhythm didn't care that Summer was different. Summer is a hippogriff, a rather rare cross between Pony and Griffin...and she often got teased by the other kids for it, but she did her best to stay positive and focus on other things.

It was a few months later that Rhythm had to go back to Equestria, her father was a musician and he'd just finished touring around France.
Summer was hearbroken, but her parents assured her that they'd one day go visit Rhythm...it took quite some time.

Throughout the next two years, Summer focused on learning and getting better at English. During this she'd often go out for a fly in the mountains, reciting poems from famous Equestrian ponies, which was how she took an interest in the stars.

It was when she turned 10 (Two years after meeting Rhythm) she discovered her special talent...which she was very excited for. She'd often been worried that she wouldn't have one...as her father was a griffin, she knew griffins didn't get cutiemarks but there it was, clear as day.

In celebration, her mother bought her a large telescope, which she set up on the small balcony outside her room in the hills outside the small town.

She spent every clear night looking at the sky and when there were clouds, she'd fly instead. This went on for another year, throughout which she made a few friends (Not many though she could have if she really tried)...but none she had the same connection as she did with Rhythm.

Then...it happened. She turned 11 and her parents surprised her with a train ride that'd take them to Canterlot. If there was one thing more exciting then getting her cutie mark, it was getting onto the train to visit Rhythm with her mother.

The following weeks were...well...one way to put it, AMAZING! She learned so much more about ponies in Equestria and learned even more about Rhythm since they could finally understand each other...though in the recent months they had been chatting through letters, but that wasn't the same.

However...time went by so fast and it was only a few weeks later that Rhythm had to head back to Couleur Terrai...though before leaving, she made Rhythm a promise...she would one day move to Equestria.

Which is exactly what she did the day she turned 17 she and Rhythm (Who was 18 at the time) managed to buy an old...rather grungy house together. The two of them worked every day on fixing it up and finally, after a months work...it was finished.

Rhythm had become quite good at writing music and was actually rather famous...the same couldn't be said for Summer. Astronomy is something that...well...its a little difficult to get famous when you're into Astronomy.

However she did make a little bit of money here and there. She taught workshops and did manage to work with some weather teams around Canterlot, though her main focus was the night sky and flying, every day she'd push herself to go higher and higher till her body just couldn't take it.

Its been a year since she and Rhythm moved in together and though Summer's life isn't totally in order...she loves it.
