'Saber' Rosey Lattice

Appearance: Saber is a Feral Pony and has multiple forms depending on her state.<br /><br />(Normal)<br />A soft pastel red messy mane and tail that is coupled with a sandy main coat. Her eyes are a gradient of crimson to light red with slitted irises. She is always seen with an O-shaped jade that is tied around her neck loosely with strong string. Her left ear was chipped somewhat and she have tight bandages wrapping around her right foreleg. As an adult, she was forced to wear Manticore paw gloves that are belted on.<br /><br />(Semi Savage)<br />Her eye reflections fade away and her fangs grow out more.<br /><br />(Full Feral)<br />Her fangs grow out into sabertooth. Her fur grows more and she morphs claws on her hooves. She can maintain this form for a good while before transforming back to normal.

Cutie Mark: Two sabertooth fangs, one brown and one crimson red, crossed over each other to form a heart. The sabertooth fangs are a representation of her willpower and personal strength but also a hidden reflection of her anger at those who have wronged her and a part of her that she had forgotten. The brown fang is to represent her loyalty and stability with those she trusts and also a reflection of her practicality. The crimson red fang represent her return to the primal ways and the courage, wrath and determination that came with it. The heart that is formed from the cross of the two fangs can be seen as either: an X that is crossing out her old self and a heart where her inner desire and experiences have made her a hardy but loving pony.

Personality: Saber is a savage and wild pony that acts mostly on instinct. She is impulsive as she does not know any better and she has a healthy sense of curiosity. Saber hates rain and thunder and would find a place to huddle in a ball whenever it rains. Saber also dislikes ponies and will be hostile if they approached carelessly. She is extremely protective of those she trusts and is highly experimental in techniques of hunting and improvising.

Backstory: Rosey is the daughter of the archeology power couple. Rosey did not stay at home like a normal filly would, her parents would always take her with them on their expeditions as they discover the mysteries and magic of Equestria. Rosey developed a healthy sense of curiosity and adventure from travelling with her parents and listening to them as they uncover interesting things from the past. From one of these visits, Rosey got a small jade necklace from her mother as a birthday gift.<br /><br />Contact with the team was lost during an expedition to the Haystead Swamps and Rosey, along with all of the other members of the team, was considered to be dead as rescue teams only came upon an empty camp with a flooded dig site.<br /><br />Years later, a wild looking pony was seen again near Baltimare and she was stalking about the forests. Due to her abnormally fanged teeth, primal behavior and bloodied jade necklace, ponies just called her Saber Bloodstone. <br /><br />Saber Bloodstone is the thought-to-be-dead Rosey Lattice. However, the events that took place in Haystead Swamps had changed her completely. A particular magic has corrupted her and transformed her into a Feral Pony. Feral Ponies are dangerous and should not be approached without proper safety. They are omnivores, seen eating berries and raw flesh of dead animals. <br /><br />Saber does not seem to understand pony speech and behaves more primal. She is often seen with a group of Manticores and travels with them as if she was one of their own. She is highly curious and would observe ponies from afar but gets hostile if approached.<br /><br />(Events in Haystead Swamps)<br />Rosey was going in with her father to the newly found cave to check it out while Rosey's mother was inspecting all the findings on the dig. <br /><br />On the way to the dig site, Rosey fell behind as she saw birds and was looking at them flying about. Then, there was something lurking among the bushes. Without warning, it leapt out and attacked Rosey who let out a great yell. It disappeared without staying long. After getting a worried inspection by her father but ultimately telling her to stay close to him. They made their way to the site.<br /><br />Things were going well but then a storm came. The soil eroded and buried the supply shed, shutting both Rosey and her father in the cave. The storm also caused a small flood and it caused the opening to the cave to be submerged. Rosey huddled with her father and survived with whatever they brought with them. However, within a day, their water was almost out. Rosey's father had been inspecting around and found small hole; an airway that was keeping them alive. He took out his pickaxe and started to mine as hard as he could. With gritted teeth and fighting thirst and fatigue, he broke a small passage to led somewhere else. The gap was too small for him but Rosey could squeeze through and check it out. He thought about it for a bit and he felt the ground getting wet. The soil that buried them in was leaking water and it will not be long until the small cave becomes flooded. He grabbed Rosey and forced her through, not telling her that he might not be able to join her.<br /><br />With instruction to go through and see if it leads anywhere, Rosey squeezed through the opening and it did not lead anywhere but Rosey can feel the air and see the light coming from a small hole. She then started to dig upward with her hooves. As she continued to follow the airway, she was closing it off behind her and that was the end for her father.<br /><br />When she finally reached the surface, she turned back and called out for her papa. She then waited... he never came up to the surface. The daylight died down and she wandered off after telling her father that she was going to find mom. But Rosey never found her mom either. She was lost and alone.<br /><br />She curled up in a ball to cry as she felt alone and as she cried she heard a strange sound. She looked up to see a Manticore coming closer. She backed away immediately. She then saw that the Manticore had a child and bringing meat. Rosey salivated as she was really hungry. As she tried to get closer, the Manticore roared at her and swiped at her. Rosey ducked and the claws hit her ear. She backed up again but her stomach was rumbling. After a while, the Manticore approached her, Rosey braced herself for another attack but was then offered a bit of meat. She took it without question and ate it. That was when her old life died away in storm and a new life started for her.<br /><br />Saber lived the Manticores for years and was soon living life as one of them. She was smaller and have less ability to defend herself so she made it up for it by being faster. Soon the Manticores were like family and she was like the baby sister of the group. Though she found herself in a scuffle here and there, she ultimately came out of it without losing too much.<br /><br />Saber has been captured by ponies as they were hunting for Manticores. Saber had seen these hunters kill her only family and she and one of the younger Manticores were captured and sent back to civilization. At first, the ponies were wondering what was she doing with the Manticores but their words were not understood by Saber, who only growled and snarled at them. She hated them. She was eventually spared from being killed but sold off to a circus who needed animals for their show.<br /><br />Saber proved to be too wild and angry to cooperate with the ringleaders but she would not leave the other Manticore's side. Instead of tossing her out and abandoning her to the wild nature, they saw the attachment to the Manticore as a benefit.<br /><br />After dealing with her constant attempts at attacking the ringleaders, they forced her to wear imitation Manticore paws and belted it on. (so that she could not remove them and she did understand the belt mechanic) They trained her alongside the Manticore and was treated like an animal.<br /><br />After a few shows and being mistreated, the Manticore raged out at them as they were whipping her for being disobedient. Rescuing Saber, the Manticore attacked the ringleaders and then they were forced to put him down. Saber only saw the gun shots and then, scared by the loud sound, she ran away.
