Cutie Mark: A transmutation circle.

[img]http://images.wikia.com/fma/images/5/58/Human_Transmutation_Circle.png[/img
Personality: From a young age, Alchymia displayed a talent for alchemy. She could change wooden blocks into small toys, or change a pile of ingredients into a plate of food. Her mother encouraged her to practice her skills, and with time, Alchymia gained more precision. She was able to repair broken objects, so long as all the pieces were there, as well as create new materials from existing ones. However, she always needed the exact components necessary to make the material. She couldn't create things like trees or water or gold, because they are naturally occurring elements of nature and require a process that only the earth can provide.

But, if it can be built by raw pony power, Alchymia can make it faster. But, only on a small scale for now. She can create objects as large as a pony, but nothing as big as a house just yet. She's still learning and practicing, and may one day be able to make huge statues and buildings in a snap.

Her abilities sometimes got her into trouble in school, as she would transform pieces of paper or even her desk into fun and interesting shapes or toys. It was very distracting to the other students, but it was hard for Alchymia to help it. Her mind kept wandering to all the cool thing she wanted to try to make, not all of which succeeded. Like all foals, she had big dreams for her small size, but as she grew older, Alchymia realized that she could only grow stronger through work, practice, and perseverance.

Alchymia also has a large appetite for somepony her size. She seems to be a bottomless pit when food is involved, and there isn't anything she won't try at least once. Alchymia almost likes to eat more than she likes performing alchemy. Almost.
Backstory: When Alchymia was very young, her father left her and her mother for parts unknown. Alchymia still does not know why he left, but her mother was never quite the same. Alchymia kept waiting for him to come home one day, but that never happened. Even when her mother became ill, her father still did not return to care for her. Alchymia took care of her mother as best she could, but she still passed away when Alchymia was a young Filly.

Alchymia tried to use transmutation to bring her mother back, but it failed. After that, [s]she opened a portal to the other side[/s] Alchymia went to live with the neighbors, who were family friends. There was just a colt, his grandmother, and their dog. The colt's parents had been killed in a war (outside of Equestria) a few years before Alchymia's mother died. It had been sudden and unexpected.

Alchymia had grown up with the colt, and they were like a sister and brother. The grandmother was happy to take Alchymia, but soon after, she grew restless. Alchymia wanted to travel Equestria and help other ponies, as well as search for her father. She wanted to use her skills to better the lives of other ponies, and do what she could to make the world a better place.

One night, Alchymia began her journey. She set out with nothing, and didn't even bother to say goodbye. She burned down the house that she had grown up in, just to make sure that there would be nothing left for her to return to. She intended to sever all ties to home, but when she was already a couple miles down the road, the colt came after her.

He gave her this necklace, and made her promise to come back. Reluctantly, Alchymia promised, though she didn't say when she would return. The colt hugged her goodbye, and Alchymia reciprocated the embrace. Her easy get away was made that much harder by his appearance, but she pushed forward despite her emotions.

Alchymia got her Cutie Mark when she performed her first transmutation. Her mother was so proud, both of her natural talent and of the appearance of her Cutie Mark. She said Alchymia's father had a similar gift, and never expected Alchymia to be able to perform transmutation, especially without any teacher.

Right now, Alchymia is traveling across Equestria, searching for her father and helping anypony that she can along the way. Finding her father is not always priority, though. Alchymia is traveling at her own pace and enjoying her travels. Sometimes she stays for weeks in the same town, but she doesn't mind so long as she keeps moving forward.
