Personality: Alex tries to stay calm and collected most of the time, and tries to think things through logcially before jumping to conclusions. There are two things that easily get him wound up:<br /><br />*Poking fun at his lack of magical ability<br />*Celestia<br /><br />Alex is kind to his friends, and is always ready to lend a hoof, and is generally honest with his feelings (sometimes a little too honest).

Backstory: Alex was brought up in Canterlot, as part of a family famed for its magical prowess. However, Alex never had any talent for magic, short of moving small objects and zapping ponies that annoyed him. One day, he skipped school to check out a nearby culture festival. There was a Go demostration there, and he quickly became interested in it. After learning the rules and getting accquainted with the basic playing styles, he tried his hoof against another beginer. He lost that game by 8.5 points, but he didn't care. It was a great match, it was fun, and most importantly, it got him fired up. Losing to a beginer meant that there were more challenging opponents waiting for him out there, and from that moment, he was determined to climb the ladder and take them down.<br /><br />Alex's family has ties with the Royal family, and as such he has come into contact with Princess Celestia many times. From the moment her met her, Alex never liked Celestia. For some reason, her very presence annoys her - possibly because her magical abilities are on such a high level, whereas his are even weaker than a young foal's. Celestia knows about this, and likes to tease him and get on his nerves for the shear fun of it.<br /><br />After an incident where he tried to sneak into the Palace's restricted library to prove that Celestia's defence was severely lacking, he was allowed to roam freelyand without charges being pressed against him, under the condition that he become Celestia's personal messenger. A deal he reluctantly accepted. Despite his open annoyance and dislike towards Princess Celestia, he is still loyal to her and her sister Luna, and would never accept anypony else as Equestria's rulers.
