Appearance: Appearing as a pony, or at least as close to one as she can (or will) replicate - Amethyst bears a number of key differences:<br /><br />* Her ears narrow far too early - more like a batpony than the earth pony form would suggest.<br /><br />* Her body is thin and angular - it should technically not be able to support itself.<br /><br />* Her mane flows as if blown by a gentle wind regardless of the weather. It's colors shift through various shades of blue and purple as it moves. The same applies to her tail.<br /><br />* Her eyes shift between brighter shades of aqua and pink - seemingly at random.<br />

Personality: Detached from the needs and wants of others, Amethyst shares some kind of connection with the essence of magic. She continuously states her distaste for unicorns and their use of 'primitive' magic - as well as earth and pegasus ponies for their lack of control over magic altogether. <br /><br />Her powers are questionable: as are her motives. Certainly her talk of 'primitive' magic is not completely unfounded - but the depths of her abilities are yet to be seen. She seems to have little regard for the life or happiness of ponies in general - whether she is acting out of an unseen kindness or a hidden agenda remains to be seen.<br /><br />She seems content when exposed to sources of magical energy: whether spells, enchanted items or places of natural power. <br /><br />She does not suffer from the same needs as ponies, but can still desire things - she might not need to drink for example, but can still feel thirsty: though these feelings are fleeting and do not need to be satisfied to go away.<br /><br />In general however, she seems to view Equestria with a sense of haughty interest - as if it were some curious, inferior land than the one she has come from.

Backstory: Brought into Equestria through the destruction of an Amethyst, found locked away in a sealed chest in the frozen wastes, she seems to be from some distant land. Despite an affinity with magic, little else is known.
