Cutie Mark: A winged halo. It describes his ability to see the good in 'bad' ponies. He earned it when he helped a classmate of his overcome depression and see that there were things in life to be glad about and that there's always hope.

Personality: Angel Blaze is usually a quiet and shy pony. He has Asperger's Syndrome, a form of autism that makes it difficult for him to socialize and learn 'normally.' He is obsessed with flying, and at a young age became one of, if not the, best flyers in his class. He may be quiet but he can be friendly if he wants to be.<br />Angel Blaze also has a nasty temper. He may seem to lack empathy and appear mean, but that's because being around other ponies for too long makes him very uncomfortable.<br />He's right at home flying and doing tricks, and is currently a cadet at the Shadowbolts Academy, where he hopes he can erase the stigma of their association with Nightmare Moon.

Backstory: Angel Blaze had a troubled foalhood. The son of Cloudsdale's most fierce police officer and a racepony, Angel Blaze was expected to excel at sports and the like by his parents.<br />He was diagnosed with Asperger's Syndrome when he was eight, and displayed little interest in anything else except flying. His proud and hot-tempered mother, Hot Shot, would berate and scold Angel Blaze every time he didn't meet her lofty expectations.<br />His father, Pearly Gates, on the other hoof was more easy on the young pegasus.<br />When Angel Blaze was seventeen, his mother sent him to the Wonderbolts Academy, stating that 'if he's gonna do something right, it better be something he likes.'<br />He proved to be the best flier at the academy. But one night, that changed. He went out one evening to do some extra laps before bed, when he saw three pegasi flying overhead. Their 'cloud trail' was shimmery and starry. They were the Shadowbolts, helping Princess Luna put the stars out.<br />Angel Blaze stared in wonder, and decided that he could do more than just flips and tricks if he joined the Shadowbolts instead. He flew to his room and immediately packed his bags and left the Academy, seeking to train with the Shadowbolts that put the stars out every night.<br />He was soon followed by his best and only friends: his cousin Halo and sister Corona.
