Applejack
By Shift
Age: Young Mare
Gender: Female
Species: Earth Pony
Cutie Mark: Three brick red apples, that represent her ability to do hard farm labor that involves bucking apple trees. It also shows her commitment to the farm.
Personality: Applejack is a mature earth pony who is down-to-earth. She is very stubborn and gets into fights a lot. However, she can be loyal and very dependable, always there on time. She takes great pride in her strong honesty, and never backs down from a fight.

She dislikes cheaters of all kind. She isn't a fan of frou-frou ponies like Rarity, however, she has a lot of respect for the mare after seeing what she can do.

She isn't an advanced reader, or the best mind, and thinks simple math is quite advanced. However, she can do simple equations...with a piece of paper.

Applejack is very athletic and strong due to bucking all of those apples. Her hind legs in particular are very tough, and they can buck all of the apples down from a tree with a simple kick from one leg.

Applejack dislikes boasters of all kind and will call them out. She very much dislikes Rainbow Dash's crippling ego, and always attempts to keep her ego in check. So far, it's working well.

Applejack doesn't normally cheat, but she is a fair and honest mare, so if somepony cheats her, she'll cheat them back to get even. She believes in being even with one pony, and believes in revenge strongly.

She can easily be sidetracked and fooled, however. Due to how simpleminded she is, she sometimes talks herself out of doing things without ever realizing it.

Applejack is stubborn to the bone, even going as far to bucking an entire Apple orchard by herself, just because she wanted to prove to all of Ponyville she could do it by herself.

In all, Applejack is one of the most dependable ponies to have by your side.
Backstory: Applejack comes from a long line of Apples. Her Father and Mother passed away at a young age, right after Applebloom was born, so Granny Smith had to take care of AJ. This heartbreak resulted her into getting away from the farm, away from all of those bad memories, so she took a vacation to Manehatten to visit her mother's sister. She got so homesick, though, but then she saw a rainbow pointing to...home. She followed the Rainbow back to Ponyville, and at that moment, she knew who she wanted to be.

After the whole Manehatten incident, Big Mac, right after proudly showing off his cutie mark, for her just got it, informed Applejack that the few days she was gone, the farm hadn't been holding up well. Macw told AJ that he needed somepony to take the reigns as head of the family, and these few days proved her wasn't up to it. AJ started to see the picture; after all, Granny was so old, and Big Mac was trying so hard to get the farm running without Mum and Dad, Applejack took the reigns as the head of the family at the young age of eleven (In pony years!).

Applejack lived a nice life in Ponyville for some time. However, her stubbornness kept on getting one step ahead of her, for when the citizens of Ponyville asked if they could help with the farm, AJ refused.

However, Applejack was much to focused on work to be paying attention. She rarely had any sort of fun and put work before friends, and the farm before Ponyville. When asked, she would say it was so.

Soon, a pony came to town called 'Twilight Sparkle' to check on the food. Applejack, being as neighborly as she was, invited her to sample 'some'. After the sampling, they got called to the town hall for the Summer Sun Celebration. Applejack couldn't help notice Twilight looking worried, looked out the window for a split second, and then she was even more worried. As AJ looked outside the window, she noticed the...thing in the moon was gone. She attempted to get RD's attention, but RD refused to notice.

Then, Princess Celestia was gone. Instead, a mare with a mane made of darkness appeared. Rainbow Dash attempted to attack the mare of darkness, but AJ held her by her tail after the mare hit some guards out of the sky: with her mane.

The mare AJ recognized as Twilight Sparkle told the audience that the mare was Night Mare Moon, and she came back to bring back Nighttime eternal. NMM confirmed that, and out of shock Applejack lost my grip on RD. RD quickly dashed at NMM, who turned into a ball of mist and floated away.

She followed her back to her library, tailing ponies she recognized as Pinkie Pie, Rainbow Dash, Fluttershy, and Rarity. At the library, Twilight Sparkle informed them about the Elements, and they headed into the Everfree Forest to get them.

They ran into obstacles, but the one AJ found the most challenging was the cliff. A cliff broke down, and Twilight Sparkle refused to let go of AJ. AJ spotted RD and Fluttershy coming back up for her, so she convinced Twilight to drop. RD and Fluttershy carried her down to the floor, and the six were on our way.

At the old castle, the six found the Elements. Right when Twilight made a spark, NMM used a twister to teleport her...somewhere else.

The five wandered around, attempting to find Twilight. Pinkie used her...Pinkie Sense to find Twilight, who in turn told the five off as each of the elements, complete with shards of the broken Elements floating around them. AJ was curious to know how they were broken in the first place, but fought the urge to interrupt Twi's speech.

Then, they all glowed, and the six shot a Rainbow at NMM. AJ and friends all got necklaces and Twilight got a crown, because she's the Element of Magic. Princess Celestia appeared and accepted Luna's apology.

AJ's happily been living it down at the farm ever since.
