Appearance: Arashi has a morning blue coat and a navy mane styled in a ponytail draped over her shoulder. Her yellow eyes are hidden beneath a takuhatsugasa hat. She wears a black and grey kimono with a blue sash. It has a sheath where she keeps her sword. <br />She has a large cross-shaped scar between her eyes from a battle long ago.

Cutie Mark: Her cutie mark is the Japonese symbol for 'harmony', with a sword beneath it. It symbolises her calm, noble nature as well as her skill in combat.

Personality: Arashi is a rather calm and collected mare, one to quickly assess a situation before acting. She appears to be quite serious, but is rather warm and compassionate, ready to lend a hoof to anypony in need. She hates seeing ponies be bullied, especially foals.<br /><br />She tries not to let her emotions show often, though there are times when her stoic is broken. And it tends to look pretty cute, given her slight social awkwardness.

Backstory: Arashi was born and raised in a small village in an agricultural territory of Japony. Her parents were farmers who lived a peaceful, law-abiding life.<br />When her village was invaded by bandits when she was a filly, she was astounded by how one villager, who she always knew as a quiet, friendly old earth pony, made short work of getting them to leave by using a flurry of amazing sword strikes to intimidate them.<br />The young Arashi was inspired to follow the old pony to his home and begged to train under him, and learn his techniques. After much, much, MUCH pleading, he finally caved and took her on as his student.<br /><br />Arashi's foalhood became one of harsh training in combat, discipline, agility and reflexes, balanced with her school studies, leaving her not much time to develop relationships with other foals in the village.<br /><br />It wasn't until she was around ten years old that her master finally deemed her worthy of a bokken, and proper samurai training. She picked up the lessons quickly, managing many martial and weapon techniques, and earned her cutie mark the day she finally managed to land a strike on her sensei's cheek.<br /><br />After completing her training in her late teens, Arashi set out from her village to seek work, and found herself under the employ of the lord of the territory. She received a cross scar on her face after protecting the lord's young daughter from a ninja attack.<br /><br />Nowadays, Arashi travels across the land as a ronin, offering her services to whoever is in need of them.
