Appearance: He has a light grey coat with a darker colored mane. His eyes are a bright green.

Personality: He's typically cold and distant, hardly ever talking to others. If Aridwind does decide to talk to you, however, he will probably spout snide remarks. Other ponies stay away from him because of his intimidating appearance, or if that doesn't drive them away his personality sure will. He has a softer spot for younger ponies and will generally not try to scare them.

Backstory: He grew up in a small farmhouse with his siblings. He was the second oldest, and the only male. His mother was a simple earth pony and his father was a Pegasus. His father was very demanding of his children, upset that most of his offspring was stuck on the ground. He treated his oldest daughter with the utmost respect. Arid's older sister, Ultraviolet, was a Pegasus. Arid secretly admired her for her strong will and her running skills. He swore she was the fastest runner in all of Equestria. <br /><br />Ultraviolet confided in Arid, telling him her darkest secret. She told him she was born with the bones of an earth pony rendering her virtually flightless. Ultraviolet and her mother had been keeping it a secret from the father for fear of what he might do. Arid was immediately afraid for his sister. He knew his father would be very angry she kept that from him. <br /><br />Finally the day came when Ultraviolet had to be taken to flight camp. Her father waited for her to take off. The young filly broke down and finally admitted to her father that she couldn't fly. Her father screamed at her for a long while, prompting the filly to run off. Arid came out to stand up to his father but before he could his father flew off in a bit of rage.<br /><br />His father and Ultraviolet never returned.
