Cutie Mark: The crest of a breaking wave. Arra always had a strong love of the sea, and used to love flying low over the waves, but was never able to swim. However one day, a large storm hit her hometown and left one of her friends stranded on a rock in the sea. Unable to be reached by the other ponies, Arra flew out to rescue her. However when she arrives, the rock had been submerged by the rising tide, and her friend had been swept off the rock. The only thing that Arra could do was to dive and search for her. Taking a deep breath, she angled downards and plunged into the rough sea. To her surprise, her momentum carried her far in the water, and she found herself able to use her wings to guide her. She found her friend clinging to a boulder fo rdear life, and half swam, half glided over to her to help her back to shore.<br />Since then, she has practiced at swimming and using her wings to guide her, using the force of the waves to speed her on her way, and has mastered her fear. <br />

Personality: Cheerful, Light-hearted and easy-going. She doesn't like to get her hooves messy, but will do so if there is a good reason, eg a job or a friend in trouble. Quite intelligent and enjoys reading and relaxing while listening to music. Tries her best to get along well with everypony, but enjoys being independant. Arra is very trustworthy and loyal, and likes to help people when she can, however she can be quite lazy. She has a good sense of humour and can be quite sarcastic, and can sometimes come across as a little insensitive, but she never means to offend anyone. Her favourite passtimes are reading and flying.

Backstory: Arra was born and raised near Baltimare, and spent most of her time living on the coast with her family. Living with just her Father and mother, she was naturally shy and quiet, so didn't make many friends when she was young. As she got older and got better at flying, she met other pegasus ponies who taught her new flying techniques and tricks. She entered local flying competitions, usually coming second or third, and it wasn't until she was 15 that she won her first competition and people began taking her skills seriously. It was then that she was allowed to help control the weather.<br /><br />When she was still young, she accidentally fell into a river on her way to the town. Her hoof got caught under a rock, and she was barely able to keep her head above the water. It was an hour before somepony passed and was able to help her out of the river, and ever since then she had a fear of swimming in deeper water, although that didn't stop her being fascinated by the ocean. She later got over her fear, which is how she got her cutie mark.<br /><br />She moved away from her parents when she was 17, and travelled around Equestria to meet new people and visit other towns and cities, earning bits when she can, and often sending some home to her family.
