Against an inferior opponent, Black Heart acts cordial and playful but against a stronger foe, Black Heart will go mad with rage and use every dirty trick in the book before attempting an escape. Black Heart think romance beneath him and thinks that love is disgusting. Black Heart is self-righteous and believes only he can judge criminals.
Backstory: Black Heart was a foal once, but a foal with a problem. Black Heart had no Cutie Mark and was weakest among all other foals from the Southern Reaches of Equestria. Black Heart couldn't care less about the bullies as he felt superior to them but the lack of a Cutie Mark was a stain on his personal pride, something he could not accept. His parent' pity only worsened matters as Black Heart thought their mercy condescending to his ego. In a fit of blind anger, Black Heart fled his home and went to the Everfree Forest, seeking the creature that had transformed Luna to give him more power to make up for the lack of a Cutie Mark.

What he found instead was an altar in the old castle of Nightmare Moon, an altar into which he prayed for power. He received it in the form of a powerful demon which granted him power but corrupted his appearance in the process. Black Heart didn't care about his new monstrous form though and simply stayed in the Everfree, making small trips outside to bring his brand of "justice" to those he viewed as unworthy. He's the self-proclaimed "Lord and Master of all Evil Dragons", a title used to bluff foes. In reality, he simply calls himself that because the demon that gave him his power was somewhat draconic in appearance.
