Backstory: Black Lightning lived in a small town called Bridleborro.His father, Perry Mental, worked at a robotics and nuclear fission facility; his mother was a mailmare. He has two brothers, Soarin' and Thunder Star. When he was five his father died at work, but he didn't find out for a few weeks because he was at a summer camp, missing the funeral. His friend Ivy Night, comforted him during the mourning. His mother then took him and his brother's to a new town, Windsoar. Soarin was off to the Wonderbolt Academy, leaving Lightning and Star alone. Lightning had a good life in Windsoar, he played on the local football team where he met his frienemy, Touchdown Turnaroun, in elementary school. Ivy Night had found his high school by accident, causing Lightning, Ivy, and TT to be the three muskateers... until three others showed up, Midsun Palm, Thunder Snow, and Storm Berry. They graduated, went to college, all on different scholarships, and met Tri Boomer.
