• Blitz

    Aureity

    • Age: 28

      Gender: Male

      Species: Non-Pony

Appearance: Resembling the other members of his species, Blitz towers slightly above the usual Salamences at 5' feet flat, and weighing around 220 pounds. Numerous scratches and nicks appear on his body, tail, and wings, and he carries himself with a bit of an aggressive air.

Personality: Blitz usually tries to avoid talking to Pokemon he doesn't know. He hates their annoying voices, their incessant chatter ruins his thoughts, and he simply couldn't care less about what type of berry they had for dinner last night. As a result, Blitz is known by most of his companions as "that quiet Pokemon that rarely smiles".

Blitz is slightly more amiable towards his acquaintances and teammates. He'll actually listen when they strike up conversation, although it's still too much to ask for him to initiate one on his own in most cases. But nonetheless, it's a vast improvement over his usually silent, stony self. He reserves his chatter for his friends - Pokemon that he has grown to respect.

In conflict, on the other hand, Blitz is absolutely ruthless. The years he had spent training inside Lucerne Heights has vastly improved his strength and agility, and seeing his comrades of the Terrae Lex pushing themselves to the limit each and every day has inspired Blitz to break his limits as well. Whether because of the influence of the guild or his background, and possibly both, he hates criminals with a burning passion, and think nothing of stooping down to their level in order to bring them to justice. Capturing them alive is simply another goal for him, rather than any moral necessity - dead criminals can't escape, after all. Thankfully, he's never had to put this particular moral (or lack thereof) to the test, but his success has naturally made him many enemies, both inside the guild and out, which has resulted in his becoming untrusting and withdrawn.

Backstory: Blitz used to be nothing more than an optimistic, cheerful Shelgon who resided with his little sister and parents in a particularly roomy section of the cave labyrinth woven into Meteor Falls. He was popular among the Meteor Falls residents, very talkative, and would never have dreamed of becoming the lonely, aggressive Salamence that he is today.

Then everything changed when the fire nation attacked.

One particularly stormy night, a group of Magmortar raided the caves, in search for a mystical meteor buried in the very center of the labyrinth-like network of tunnels. Easily blasting aside the few residents that attempted to stop them, they reached the center with ease. It was here that they found the meteor, but in their greedy haste to dislodge it from the ground, they weakened and destroyed most of the supports that kept the cave roof from falling through. Unluckily for everyone inside Meteor Falls, as that one room caved in like a crumpled tin, so too did the rooms surrounding it, in an ever-increasing domino effect.

Blitz, who had been caught in the storm on the way back home and had decided to seek refuge in a small crevice, watched from a distance in horror as innumerable rocks rained down the mountain while Meteor Falls folded like a deck of cards. It was then, under the immense pressure to escape the boulders rolling his way, that he evolved into a Salamence and flew off to safety in the nearby treeline.

When he returned to the cave a few minutes later after the rockslide had stopped, he was greeted with utter silence. His family, friends, and entire life was now buried under a million tons of rubble. And by some lucky off-chance, he had survived.

He blamed himself for the catastrophe, as he does to this day. If only he had stopped the Magmortar from entering the cave, he might have been able to save his family from the disaster. With nothing left but the furious desire to discover how such a catastrophe could have happened, he spent six consecutive months combing the world for any details, any small clues that would help to piece together the puzzle.

It was in the small island of Divisia that he finally found what he wanted. A nearby Arcanine, answering his plea for information, told him that a group of Magmortar thieves had left the island by ferry months ago, in search of "some sort of rock thingy in some place called Meteor Falls that was probably worth a lot". Enraged, he immediately rushed to the island's local thieves guild, the Divisian Mafia. Attempting to enact his furious revenge, he was soundly beaten and driven off by a few of the mafia watchpokemon, although to his credit he managed to inflict grievous wounds on two of them.

That might have been the end of him right there, as the remaining mafia sentries prepared to finish him off for good, if not for the timely intervention of a watching Alakazam, who had seen him and was impressed by his struggle. Teleported by this strange Pokemon before the mafia members could react, Blitz woke up, his head aching, in an infirmary in the small town of Lucerne Heights. Here, the Alakazam told him that he had two options: To leave the island before the mafia had a chance to enact its revenge, or to join the Terrae Lex and fight the mafia, and other similar criminals, from gaining control of the island.

It's easy to guess which option he chose.
