Cutie Mark: Her cutie mark is a pair of binoculars. Some joke that her special talent is looking at things, and, strangely, she agrees. She loves observing things and writing about them. She hopes to be a journalist someday.

Personality: Book Smarts is a knowledgeable, friendly mare. She's very helpful, and while a bit shy, she's keen to make friends-just not too many at once. She might be a bit fearful, and also a tad smuge impractical, but she's generally good-hearted.

Backstory: Book Smarts is an exchange student from Saddle Arabia at Canterlot Academy. Despite being a bit unnerved by things that go bump in the night, she likes to travel a lot, and took the chance to visit Equestria. Her parents work at a pillow factory, a job which she is thankfully not inheriting.
