Backstory: She was born, quite like all other ponies, but her parents, thought something was wrong, but they disregarded it, at school, she was the only "blank flank" in her class. One day she got lost, in the everfree forest, trying to get her cutie mark as a adventurous explorer like the character in her favorite book, Daring Do, but she stumbled down a cliff, thankfully she landed safely, but she found a strange pile of metal and various tools, she decided to start tinkering to pass the time, for a few hours past, no pony notice she was missing, she dreamed of being a like daring do, and thought "if I have wings, I might be able to fly out" so she slowly tinkered and played around with spare parts, and somehow stumbled across a solution, Accor to the book, "Mechanical Pony Feats", she hooked up the Pistons to the wings and then to the battery. As she was quite suprised the battery had power, the wings looked fairly plain, and decided to add her own personal touch, as she does with everything "I'll just spray paint this silver, this gold..." As the sunsets, Eclipse realized she gotten her cutie mark, a brass cog with wings, ever since, she loved flying, even with artificial wings, and came 4th place in flying competitions, although, she quickly learned that your not supposed to stand under thunder clouds and to always have your wings on you...
