Caesura
Age: 22
Gender: Female
Species: Pegasus
Appearance: Caesura is an average-height pegasus with a dusky pink coat. Her mane and tail are blood red, and her mane is most often tied up in a ponytail (ha). The irises of her eyes are black. Caesuras' wings have had surgery on them so that they are now extended by metal and they are somewhat separated, so she could better press the keys of her instruments with her wings.
Cutie Mark: Caesuras' cutie mark is of a caesura (a musical symbol on the top of the staff that looks like this: // ) that looks like it was carved into her flesh fairly recently. It wasn't, though, that's just how the cutie mark looks. She got it through an interesting series of events. She had noticed, as a filly at the age of six, that almost everypony had cutie marks that had some affiliation with their name. She wasn't sure if her name had a meaning, but it probably did. The first pony she asked was one of her music teachers, her piano teacher, because although she hated him, considered him a bore, and would soon drop out of his class (but still pursue music as a career), she knew that he was smart. So she asked him, and he replied that it was a type of musical symbol that indicate a slight pause in the music, not included in the timing, and it looked like two slashes. Then she shouted, "So that's my special talent! Music!" Her teacher told her that there was more to it than that, but she didn't believe him. She turned her flank to him and he promptly told her to get out, for there was in fact no cutie mark and he thought that she was waving her hind in his face. Upon leaving, Caesura soon found this out, and she was filled with frustration. It had to be music! She spent several weeks afterwards thinking about what she wanted to do with her music and why. Eventually she came to a conclusion: she wanted to sway ponies' emotions to her will, fill them with whatever feelings she and the music directed. She looked at her flank and there was her cutie mark.
Personality: Caesura is a pony who believes that chaos is the most fun thing one could possibly have. She is a sociopath, a pony who strikes without conscience and only to satisfy the needs of herself and the needs of anarchy and insanity. She enjoys watching the pain of others, physical and emotional. If given a secret, she will only keep it if it will make things worse for more ponies. If pressured into giving a secret, she will not put her life on the line and gladly give it up. She's sly, seductive, and completely insane. She does not like to leave her allegiances anywhere. She only listens to herself.<br /> <br />She is not completely invulnerable, however. She often underestimates her opponents and ends up worse because of it, and that won't change any time soon. Once she has picked a target, she will try and do whatever it is she wants to do them no matter what the cost. Emotional pain tends to get the best of her if anypony figures out how to make her feel it. When she kills a pony for reasons other than fun, she will carve her cutie mark into the flesh near the corner of their left eye, like she has carved it into her own flesh there (again, her actual cutie mark on her flank is real, she just carved the one near her eye), which makes it easy to tell who did it and she has a very high risk of being caught. She is awfully stubborn.
Backstory: When Caesura was born in Las Pegasus, her parents, Joyous and Thunderclap, were very happy to have such a beautiful young filly, as she was very adorable at the time. She started to take an interest in music at a young age, around four years old, and they were very supportive. They at one point noticed how different she was from the other ponies. The others liked to laugh and play. Caesura did not laugh, and all she would play was music. Her parents took her to see a psychiatrist when she was five. Her psychiatrist she viewed in a similar manner as her music teacher and everypony else - bland, worthless, meaningless, and pointless. So she never listened to what he had to say and she got no where in her training. She got worse. Her mother was the first to notice, and Joyous talked to Caesura herself one day.<br /> <br />"Caesura, what's wrong dear? Why are you not like the other ponies?" "Because I'm not them." Her mother wasn't happy with that response. "Cae, I love you, and I want you to tell me what's wrong." "What does it matter what you think, mother? Love me? What does that even mean? You are worthless." She looked at her mother with a cold, dead look in her eye, and it was plain to see that she meant what she had said. Her mother began to cry and Caesura made no attempt to comfort her. Instead, she went up to her room and began to play a song of happiness.<br /> <br />As she grew older, she went from a no-personality, self-centered filly to a filly who still believed the same things, was still self-centered, but now had a personality of a crazed killer. That wasn't really an improvement. When she got her cutie mark, it confirmed her parents' suspicions that she was utterly insane, seeing that the mark looked like it had been carved into flesh, surely not a sign of mental well-being. She now laughed, but at terrible things, and she played games, but games of a horrid, foul kind.<br /> <br />Once the teacher of Caesuras' class had found one of the students dead. He was a bully to Caesura, who had bullied her for being different, and his corpse had had Caesuras' cutie carved into his flesh. It was a tragic event, even more so because killing was so rare in Equestria. She did not deny her kill, but instead boasted about it upon returning home. The police investigated, for Caesuras' parents wanted to believe that they had been tricked and their daughter brainwashed, but all evidence was against her. She was to be sent to the insane asylum in Fillydelphia, where she remained for all of her days.
