Appearance: Her gender & species is based more on what she looks like. As a ghostpony she no longer has a corporeal form.

Callie's body is fully opaque & can be seen through if one puts their mind to it enough. While translucent, her gauzy, light-mustard coat fades a bit more as you get closer to her hooves. Her greying, light brown mane is done up in a messy, but old fashioned & business-like bun. Her tail is cut short into a bob.

While middle-aged & old fashioned, it can be said that she has a pretty, pretty face.
Cutie Mark: A simple, rustic cottage meant to symbolize her need to provide a warm, hospitable environment for other ponies away from home.
Personality: While shrewd at finances & never one to shy away from having to bounce any troublemakers out of her inn, it has always been of the utmost importance for Callie to provide a warm hearth & a home cooked meal for the miners & prospectors that used to frequent her business.

While caring & (dare I say it?) Motherly, Callie will get violently manic & twitchy at the slightest implication you might leave her or her motel. Her corporeal form will get even less substantial and start tittering around the room like a video effect until you can calm her down by assuring her of your intentions to stay.

As Callie is wont to say: "You can check in anytime you want. But you. Can NEVER. LEAVE!"
Backstory: Back in the settler days of Equestria, it was young Callie Fornie's dream to provide shelter & warmth to the lost souls of prospectors for the many gold rushes that happened in that era. Long ago in the hills way past Appleoosa, bordering on the black, sinister mountains that form dragon territory a gold mine was found & a town quickly erupted around it in under a year.

It was in this small town, name lost in the many years since then, that young Callie started up her small motel, which she named after herself. Callie's Motel Fornia.

Unfortunately for the denizens of the new town the gold supply of the mine was misjudged & not far into Callie's motel having just started to get prosperous & a cultural hub of the town itself, the city around it started getting abandoned & falling into disrepair. Not wanting to give up on her talent & insisting to the waves of locals abandoning her & her shared household that there was still worth to this town, Callie stayed behind keeping her doors open should any stray wanderers come by looking for a warm place to lay their muzzles at night. Stories around those parts tell of the town crumbling to dust around the Inn that refused to show its age, its owner eventually dying to madness of her last ditch efforts to have anypony at all come her inn and just stay to keep her company.

There are repeated sightings of the Callie's Motel Fornia showing up in places no where near where the town originally was, luring in the gradually fading shapes of ponies never heard from again.
