Personality: Chip is rather shy but greets new ponies with a smile on his face but a grip on his gun. He never intends on using his gun unless he is threatened.<br /><br />He is smart and calculating, always pondering to himself when idle. His thoughts range from guns to new forms of technology. Chip is generous and kind, he looks out for his friends and can easily be befriended.

Backstory: Chip was born into a family of tech ponies who specialized in weapons and technology. Unfortunately Chip never knew his mother for she died when he was very young, his father telling him that she was attacked by a hellhound when she was out scavenging. When in actually she was murdered by a Raider boss as motivation for Chip's father to accept making weapons and technology for him.<br /><br />Chip through his years was trained by his father in the train of technology and weaponsmithing. The Father son duo own a lab together where they worked for many different ponies through contracts, even a few contracts with the I.D.S.<br /><br />When Chip was twenty he still remained with his father in the lab to continue their work until one day their lab was raided by raiders. To protect his son, Chip's father stowed him away inside a small storage container, telling him that no matter what not to come out until it was quiet. Turns out Chip's father had cut out the Raider boss from the weapons and tech they were creating, furious he came after Chip's father with a want for blood.<br /><br />The raiders made quick work of the lab and left as quickly as they had come. Chip unlocked the container from the inside and stepped out. As he looked around he saw the lab had been caught ablaze and as he looked down at the ground he saw his father dead on the ground.? <br /><br />Chip began to panic as tears filled his eyes, Chip grabbed a saddle bag and ran from the lab. Knowing the region he made his way toward the closest settlement being Ponyville.? <br /><br />After a long trek Chip reached Ponyville still upset over the death of his father. He was able to gain residence in Ponyville after he told them of his trade.? <br /><br />For the past year Chip resided in Ponyville working as a weaponsmith.
