Appearance: A yellow unicorn who wears a lab coat and glasses. His mane is black with a grey streak.
Cutie Mark: His cutie mark is a series of interconnected gears, symbolizing his knack for inventing things.
Personality: To others, this stallion may seem calculating and strange, always trying to understand how strangers would work in certain situations. In his youth, Clockwork loved to take apart appliances around his house and re-assemble them, which allowed him to learn how technology worked.
Backstory: Clockwork has lived in a semi-happy family who loved him, residing in the outskirts of downtown Canterlot. He has no siblings, but that has only served to provide a deeper connection with his parents. At the age of six, he took apart and rebuilt his family's toaster, and that eventually led to him gaining his cutie mark in inventing and repair.

-----

As a teenager, Clockwork could only be labeled as a prodigy. Top of his class, a brilliant mind, a knack for inventing; all things that would point his parents into ushering him into the Canterlot School for Gifted Unicorns. This came as a great shock to the teenager, who had many inhibitions about going. The utter lack of friends, the intensive study, and a plethora of other factors caused Clockwork to resent his parents' decision, which led to him hating his parents.

The only solution in his mind, was to run away, to forge his own path in the world. And so he did, packing his things overnight and fleeing, taking a train west around the Rambling Rock Ridge, and down through the badlands. While there, Clockwork's resolve was hardened through all the trials and challenges he faced, and he thankfully made it through, now with a testimony of the harshness of the world.

Continuing on with his journey, Clockwork eventually made his way to The Southern Port, the self-explanatory southernmost port in Equestria. He gained passage on a Minotaur ship, and spent the next few weeks at sea. The minotaurs taught him how to properly fight using only his back legs to stand on, which is a technique that he more widely used later in his life, with the invention of his spine brace.

The ship eventually reached the Zebrican Isles, and deciding that that was a good a place as anywhere, Clockwork said goodbye to his new friends, and settled down in the tribal villages with the zebras for a great many years. He met the filly Zecora, and told her of his great adventures across Equestria, inspiring her with visions of grandeur and adventures of her own. He studied with several great Zebrican shaman, who taught him the ways of the Zebra, their great connection to the earth, and their unique magics. He adopted their lifestyle, and became a great scholar; learned in the ways of magic, science, and the forces of nature.

Seeking to expand his knowledge even further, Clockwork left the Isles and headed back to the heart of Equestria, choosing the western route instead of heading back up the coast. Going around the southern border of the badlands, he continued east, finding himself passing through the hidden desert country; Troy. (I'm still contemplating how this whole section of his life goes down, as it connects to one of my friend's OC's. Long story short, he travels through this country that Equestria refuses to admit even exists, and nobody's very happy about it. He does some stuff there, and continues to head north, returning to Canterlot. He reconnects with his super-old parents, and settles down again.)

After he returned home, Clockwork sustained himself by utilizing his inventing genius; creating something, then selling the rights to the patent. He developed the spine brace mentioned below, but kept the design secret for himself to use. Through a series of events, he created a set of magic-charged armor, with amazing durability and low weight. He managed to sell the patent directly to Celestia and Luna, and became friends with them over an extended period of time.
