Cutie Mark: Flicker's cutie mark is an open book, with star-shaped sapphires around it. The stars represent her magical ability, while the book represents her open and welcoming nature.<br />She earned it not long after starting her education, by passing a practical assignment.

Personality: Flicker is a high-spirited and friendly young mare with a passion for learning and exploring. She's rather quirky and energetic, and quick to make a friend.<br /><br />However, she gets flustered easily when her spells do not go to plan, and does not appreciate being criticised for her mistakes. This makes her determined to do her best in practising her magic and improve herself.

Backstory: Born and raised in Canterlot, Cobalt Flicker had a rather cosy upbringing with her father, a member of the Royal Guard, and her mother, the owner of a magical curiosity shop.<br /><br />As a filly, she displayed a great interest in magic from poking around her mother's wares, including old spell books and artefacts. She even began practising it on her own, and her parents discovered she had quite a talent with it.<br /><br />She was accepted into Celestia's School for Gifted Unicorns, after passing her enrolment test in peculiar fashion. She was tasked with growing a flower from a bud, and while she did do it... the flower then began dancing! She and the professors were equally confused, but since she did indeed achieve her assignment, she was enrolled.<br /><br />It was discovered not long after that Flicker was a bit spontaneous, matching her rather energetic behaviour. Spells would either not go according to exact plan, or completely different to what she intended to do. This quirk earned her a bit of a reputation as a klutz.<br /><br />At some point during the later years of her education, her abilities were recognised by one of her teachers - Professor Indus Moonquill. It seemed Celestia had similar thoughts, as she proposed the stallion take her on for additional magic lessons. Liking the idea of a personal student, Moonquill accepted the offer, and Flicker was happy to have a personal tutor.
