Appearance: The Codex was written on twelve pages of parchment, each of them several feet long and written in the ancient pegasi tongue.

Personality: The known Codex holds honor and loyalty above all other virtues, deeming them to be the qualities that hold the empire together. Without it the House would surely crumble. Straying from the Codex is seen in a foul light, the most minor of punishments resulting in the loss of a pegasi's wings.

Backstory: The Codex Mortis (Code of Death) was written in 2650 BC by Commander Typhoon. The Codex was originally divided into twelve different chapters, each signed by all the standing members of the senate. During the reign of Commander Hurricane many of the original documents were lost during the great winter. Today the three remaining chapters lie within the Vaults of Windsoar.<br /><br />The Codex details the ideals held by the old pegasi society during the first tribal wars. Much of it however was abandoned after the reforms of Commander Hurricane, abolishing many of the original laws in favour of the newly established Triarchy.<br /><br />Self-proclaimed Force Commander Supreme Rainbow Dash sought to unite her race under a unified ideal, the Codex offered exactly that. Within the first few years of Rainbow's inauguration, the senate passed the proposal to have the Codex reinstated as law.<br /><br />Rainbow Dash however only possesses three of the original chapters, the rest of them destroyed or scattered across Equestria. It is rumored that House Moon and Star possess multiple chapters within the Royal Archives under close watch, another also said to be hidden deep within the Everfree Forest. The location of the others is still at this stage unknown.
