Appearance: Coffee Cake's coat is a chocolate brown color, reminiscent of a piping hot mocha. She has a long, lightly curled mane and tail which is swirled with three different curls: caramel brown, bubblegum pink, and bright magenta. She wears her main in a high ponytail with a large, polka dot bow. Her tail curls around a smaller, brown bow. Light pink irises surround her wide, bright pupils, and dark freckles sit atop her cheeks beneath her eyes. She is a unicorn, so her brown horn pokes between her curly bangs. She is a short, slightly chubby pony, looking as if she still has a little baby fat. For these reasons, she looks quite young for her age.

Cutie Mark: Coffee Cake's cutie mark is a pink cup of coffee overlapping an espresso-flavored cupcake. This cute mark represents several things for her.<br /><br />The coffee represents part of her identity. In general, Coffee Cake has a very warm and welcoming personality. Like the caffeine in coffee, Coffee Cake is energetic, and is able to pass on that high energy to her friends. However, just like caffeine in coffee can wear off, so can her energy and motivation. Coffee Cake has moments where she can be lazy, exhausted, or overwhelmed. She tries her best to overcome those moments, but sometimes it can be hard.<br /><br />Coffee also represents her upbringing. Coffee Cake grew up living above her parents' coffee shop, and now she happily works as a barista there.<br /><br />The cupcake, similar to the coffee, also represents a part of her identity. Like a cupcake, Coffee Cake can be simply sweet. She's known for her open, charismatic, and affectionate attitude. When she is on one of her energetic streaks, she loves to surround herself with friends. She adores complimenting others, giving presents, and making ponies feel loved. She can often take this too far though. Sometimes Coffee Cake gets too sweet on others, not knowing she's crossing a line between friendliness and romance. She can, unfortunately, be flirty to the point of disaster, sometimes leading to hurt feelings. Coffee Cake is a hopeless romantic and has good intentions, but often indulges too much when it comes to love... speaking of indulging, she's also pretty gluttonous, looking for any excuse to eat sweets.

Backstory: Coffee Cake has lived in Ponyville her entire life. She currently lives in a modest cottage near a local pony hangout, a coffee shop named Sweet Stables. She works as a barista there.<br /><br />Sweet Stables is owned by Coffee Cake's parents. Her parents, Caramel Swirl and Mocha Muffin, are both mares. They adopted Coffee Cake right after she was born - Coffee Cake knows nothing of her birth parents, and doesn't really think about it much. She has a deep, caring relationship with her adoptive parents, feeling completely fulfilled in that regard.<br /><br />She has many friends, but her most notable friend is Pinkie Pie. They have a lot in common when it comes to their energy level and their desire to make others happy. They like to pal around Ponyville, often going out for a cupcake... or five... hundred.<br /><br />She has one pet - a fluffy, hot pink kitten named Sprinkles.<br /><br />Other activities that Coffee Cake enjoys include writing poetry, swimming, shopping, and reading fantasy novels.
