Cutie Mark: A ball of blue fire.<br />This represents Crystal's...well...some would call it a curse but she thinks its an ability.<br />Crystal's Father focused his magic on using and controlling Ice, whereas Crystal's mother focused on Fire.<br />When Crystal was born her mother died and she was raised by her father...which is why her ice magic takes for of a blue fire.<br /><br />When Crystal started focusing on battle magic, she discovered her natural talent was ice fire, which is basically fire but rather than burning, it freezes.

Personality: She comes off as rather cold (physically and personality wise) but is really quite...well...sorda nice.<br />She's very abrasive but means well. She does her best to make friends but allot of the time they find her...mean. There are a few who have gotten to know her and understand that she is actually quite nice.<br />In drastic situations she gets very VERY serious and is very disapproving of goofing off.<br />She is quite mature for her age.

Backstory: Ice (Or Crystal as she prefers) Was born in the arctic north while her father and her mother were exploring ancient remnants from the crystal empire.<br />Her mother died giving birth which left her to her father.<br />The lived an hours carriage ride from Vanhoover in the cold forest.<br /><br />Crystal's father used to spend most of his time exploring old ruins around Equestria, but that all ended. He wasn't too sad about having to stop his adventures but did miss them.<br />He opened a small museum in Vanhoofer that focused on magical artifacts and...well...anything that involved curses and unicorn magic in the past.<br /><br /><br />Crystal had a fairly normal childhood. Her father worked at the museum while she went to the local school before the two of them would watch the sunset from the shore every clear night.<br /><br />When they got home however, Crystal's father insisted upon teaching her attack magic should she ever need it...and Crystal loved it.<br /><br />She was never destructive but enjoyed knowing that she had enough power to fight if she needed too and would often pretend she was a famous hero who saved Equestria all the time.<br /><br />She met up with her friends during the weekend but sadly, when she was around the age of seven, during the cold winter, she fell from the docks into the rough freezing ocean.<br /><br />Her father had no idea. He was at work when Crystal's friends came running in, yelling for help.<br />Crystal's father ran as fast as he could and managed to get her out...but she had a severe case of hypothermia...which was going to kill her if he didn't do something.<br /><br />Her father ran her to the doctors but even they couldn't do anything. He looked for any way to save her as she slipped farther and farther away, he ended up settling on one very drastic spell that would save her and keep her alive...at a price.<br /><br />He enchanted one of his wive's old scarves and wrapped it around Crystal's neck.<br /><br />Crystal's father had enchanted the scarf to...well...keep Crystal alive, basically...by freezing the condition...and the pneumonia she developed later.<br /><br />She is alive, and can be hurt...but she still has the hypothermia and pneumonia and if she removes the scarf for too long, it will kill her.<br /><br />From then on, Crystal became a whole new person.<br />Her father had become much more protective of her and rarely let her from his sight where she had become much more antisocial, mostly because her "Friends" Thought she was cursed.<br /><br />There were some friends of her's who stuck around, which did cheer Crystal up a bit.<br /><br />It was one day when she was walking home from school, Finally able to get away from her father. (She was around 10) she discovered her special talent.<br />She was looking at her reflection by the water's edge when she attempted an old spell her father had showed her.<br />This spell was very advanced and she managed to do it without a hitch. She froze the area around her (Around 60 feet in all directions).<br />She didn't of course freeze everything right through but it all had a frost, and the water had some thin ice.<br /><br />That...made her feel much better about what had happened all those years ago.<br />She ran home to show her father who was very impressed.<br /><br />From then on, she had focused more on her gift and eventually decided she wanted to use her powers to help Equestria and moved to Canterlot when she was 17.<br />Her father was very uneasy about her move but knew she'd have to leave the nest one day.<br /><br />After a year of training, she was able to join...though not the royal guard.<br />it was a touchy situation what with her Scarf...so she joined an elite group for special missions sent out by the princesses themselves.<br /><br />Of course, she was willing to carry out missions for other's who would be willing to pay.<br /><br />And there she is today, living high up above Canterlot on the mountain.
