• Crystal Floe

    Unikitty
    • Age: Adult, I think. It varies or something.

      Gender: Female

      Species: Earth Pony

Appearance: Floe is an ice spirit.
Her physical body, originally carved from the wall of a towering glacier, is generally clear around the edges with a sharp, misty substance further inside. The mist is most apparent in her torso and head, reflecting away most light sources. It branches out from it's center mass in a web-like formation, fading away as they near the edges of her body.
As a whole, her icy body has a light, almost unnoticeable blue tint. From the the inner mist, her body gives off a faint and gentle glow that slowly pulsates in time.

Floe's mane flows. Smoky and like a warm breath in Winter, her hair rolls and curls in wisps. Long strands float and fall from her mane and tail, evaporating into air as it is quickly replaced with more wispy streams.
Her hair is of a deep violet, growing lighter as it thins out. When exposed to direct light, her mane and tail shimmer and shine in a myriad of blue and purple hues. When exposed to heat, the wisps begin to steam up. The wispy ends turn dark and thick, and glitter as water droplets form, falling away like blots of dark dye.

Her eyes are rounded and wide with a natural naivety and curiosity. Her iris is a foggy tint of cyan, and her pupils large and jet black. These eyes shine brilliantly as water sticks in abundance. When blinking, it is not abnormal to see light cascades of water slip down her cheek - quickly absorbing back into the skin.

Floe walks in a gait of deft finesse. She tiptoes and dances cautiously across the terrain, as though the slightest misstep could produce a shattering result. Despite this manner, her hooves are hard as steel. Compressed extensively, these thick prints refuse to chip in the slightest. Solid and ice-cold, these hooves are better dodged than blocked.

Being made of ice, Floe is constantly affected by heat. Sources such as ambient temperature and direct sunlight affect her body, slowly but surely causing her to melt away. This is a slow process, but a process nonetheless. Her intensely cold core emits an energy outwards that creates a small pocket of super-cooled air along her body, acting as a barrier for heat. Being only cold air, larger, more physical elements are unaffected and thus when come into contact with her, a hoof only feels her slightly below zero exterior. - Pity, however, for the fool standing behind her when the wind picks up.
As she melts, Floe's body shrinks and inches into younger forms. With constant natural exposure, a week will render her but a filly.

To combat this side effect, Floe often finds herself subject to cool drinks, and cold showers. She absolutely loves cold showers and adores bathing even more-so. Ice, however, is something she finds unpleasant. Ice is already solid, and takes longer to consume effectively, unlike smooth liquid water, to which is immediately of use.
Should she ever find herself in a position of emergency, Floe carries with her a silver flask of water. The flask is pressed lightly into her left side, over her cutie mark. The ice holds it in place, leaving her able to move freely.

Accompanying her travels is her pet Frostomander. A species of salamander, Frostomanders(Also known as Ice Geckos) live far up north in the caps of mountain ranges. Their backs are dark blue and printed with a hundred or so white specks. The underside of these amphibians is a flat white, fading seamlessly with the blue. This camouflage has a variety of purposes. The dark back allows Frostomanders to go unnoticed whilst clinging to cave surfaces. When outside and in snow, rolling onto their back keeps them from being seen by nearby predators.
Every year, when the temperature warms up the salamanders travel en-masse to the mountain base. Here, they hunt small fish in rivers of melted snow and use this time to reproduce. Their dark back, light underside, and disorienting white specks help deform their shape, making lone frostomanders become invisible, and groups of them to appear as one frightful mass.
Floe's Frostomander is called 'Spots' for his unusually few and large white dots.

      Cutie Mark: [TBA]

Personality: Floe rarely speaks. With a limited vocabulary, she finds it easier to respond via motions of the head, or visual expressions. A filly at heart, she finds words rather boring and would much rather follow the pretty looking creatures fluttering in the wind.
None of this, however, is to state that she cannot speak. The occasional 'yes', 'no', and 'Spots!' are spoken, as she memorises certain key words.

Observant and perceptive, Floe is always seeking the next object of interest. Be it a magical glowing source or a lovely lavender field, the mare is always moving to explore her surroundings and sate her curiosity.
Unfortunately, this can leave her quickly distracted, as well as fixated on a single event.

She likes ponies, and loves other sentient species. Nothing is more interesting than seeing a trio of filly adventurers or a baby dragon belching green fire. There is no such thing as an enemy, and Floe would even befriend a rock if it could talk.
This is, of course, in exception to Parasprites. A particular misadventure one day resulted in several of the monsters mistaking her watery mane for a cool refreshment. Ever since then, the very sound of buzzing wings makes her hair stand on end. She does find Polka music rather relaxing, though.
